A couple of days ago, I was at a local deli store to get a sandwich, the woman who works at the store is an old, fat hag, for the lack of better words, god fearing, uneducated, simple minded, and unaware of whatever that’s going on in the world around her, obviously doesn’t care, either. While making the sandwich, she kept talking and told me she was recently a juror on a murder trial in which a drug addict snapped and killed his girl friend with a knife, stabbed her 18 times, I asked her what was her verdict, she said not guilty, I asked why? The lack of actual and/or circumstancial evidence? She smiled and said no dear, the lord says do not judge anybody, for you will be judged, I wasn’t personally there, so I couldn’t pass judgment on that man.
These are the kind of people that are randomly chosen to perform their jury duty and decide the fate of murderers and rapists and drug dealers who are roaming the streets of our cities, and often allow them to get away with whatever they do, no wonder the judicial system in this country is so fucked up and broken beyond repair.
In addition to what The Colonel says it’s not just the judicial system that’s fucked up it’s our whole society. Most Americans are the dumbest people on the planet: between drugs, alcohol, religion, white trash, ghetto’s, poor education, easy access to guns, dysfunctional families we’ve far exceeded the excesses of the Roman Empire. As a matter of fact, I’ve come to realize that ALMOST EVERYBODY IS AN IDIOT! The only way to deal with it is apathy.
pornster, You’re right. There’s a black comedy called Idiocracy, directed by Mike Judge, if you haven’t checked it out, you should. It’s a glimpse into the future of America, shocking, but unfortunately very close to the truth.
I agree about idiocy. It’s contageous and the cure seems to be to make everyone dumber and dumberer so no one feels too stupid or left out. Like, you know?
People tend to believe what they want to believe and the more something is told the more it’s sold… unless you force some facts into some faces. But just like leading a horse to water they might not have anything to do with it. Sometimes the truth is too hard to swallow and the lie just seems too tasty or convenient.
One of the dumbest things people do is believe things because they hear them a lot while NEVER taking any time to pursue and examine the facts.
“Well, I hear it all the time, so it must be true”. When I hear that I go “Whooah”. All it takes is one crazy, stupid, low, scumbag fuck-up to repeat something over and over every chance they can to everyone they can, so that others keep repeating it and on and on. And God forbid you ever have a run in with two fuck-ups in your life time and those two fuck ups happen to know or start talking to each other. It’s amazingly effective for people when someone makes their life’s religious mission to talk shit about someone.
