A day with Asia Carrera(abbreviated).
When I first started this project, I had planned to film Asia Carrera. I had no idea how I would contact her, or if she would even agree. But when I made my pitch to my investors, she was the one name that made all of their ears pop up. Up until 3 days before we flew out, we were uncertain about her participation. To make a long story short, my new friend Randy West came and saved the day, and we were off to Utah!
Now, I’m beholden to a certain bit of confidentiality on this one. But here are a few highlights. Asia, is about as charming, well spoken, and earnest as any person I’ve ever met. For those of you who saw her on the E channel’s "Boulevard of Broken Dreams," know this, she’s not that woman anymore. She’s taken control of her emotions, and is raising two amazing kids, that she alternates school days with so she can have solid quality time with them. She’s fit as all get out, has a sharp sense of humor, and is constantly trying to improve herself.
She reads Tolkein, keeps a 200 gallon fish tank, and is a master of html programming. And without giving anything away, let’s just say the apple doesn’t far from the tree as far as her kids are concerned. Some rumors about her were dispelled, and she offered up this advice for newbies in the xxx biz. "Don’t jump right into the triple anal gangbang for your first movie. Make them wait for it." Granted, her life is an open book, and on her website; but seeing it in person, was for lack of a better term, heartwarming.
We’re up to San Francisco Thursday morning to meet Richard Pachenco, and John Leslie. We’ll also be following up with Shelly Lubben at the Exotic Erotic Expo, and picking up whatever interesting interviews/soundbites we can get at the ball. Seriously, steele. Do something about convincing the director to change the title. ‘Pornstar for rent’ is lame, though I guess it does satisfy those on the sales end who need the word porn to sell it.
Asia was always a favorite. I’m happy she’s doing so well.
I think you’re missing something, jed. “Porn Star For Rent” is an awesome title! That’s been the feedback from most people. Not everyone will agree about everything no matter what it is. Look at Larry Horse, for example. He thinks some of us are only guessing when he say Sophia Mounds = Dr. Pain and Mr. Wayne.
Doesn’t the concept of being able to rent a ‘star’ for sex have a sort of ironic appeal?

I wouldn’t recommend triple anal gangbangs, really – first movie, last movie… to girls OR guys. And how do they do it anyway? My curiosity is over how 3 dudes maneuver to get it done (as well as why) not any desire to see watch and whack to it.

i dunno steele, i find the overtness of ‘porn’ and ‘pornstar’ in titles a bit too gimmicky, same with all porn doco’s. “hey guys, in case you didn’t realise this flick is about porn.”
but like i said, good for sales, the average meathead sees ‘porn’ in the title and he’s a good chance to show up, or rent it.

gimmicky means with the intent to trick, obscure misrepresent… i guess instead of ‘porn’ you could call it an ‘adult’ doc but i think calling it porn is better … after all what’s adult about most porn titles? most sound like something a giggling kid came up with… is porn typically done the way ‘mature adults’ fuck?
the dumbest title of a mainstream movie, one which actually had some actual porn in it was called ‘short bus’… they couldn’t have picked a worse title in my opinion, it had nothing to do with buses or short people, just weird relationships that got kinky on camera… a lot of gay shit too… that was reverse gimmicking, mispresenting when it should’ve been representing… no people riding any short bus at all in that movie…
actually most porn docs should be called ‘watch fuckers talk’
FWIW you seem to be an irregularly working pornstar, steele. maybe you’re right, maybe you do need porn in the title, but ‘Germy: life in the porn trench’ seems more appropriate
Funny story, Heather Hunter, Chasey Lain, Asia, and I were shooting a scene for Vivid, and Chasey was so messed up it, was like she was vacant, Asia didn’t talk to any of us,that I remember and I pretty much thought she was gay for pay, so Heather and I got down to buisness and let the 2 dead fishes fuck each other. Chasey is hands down the worst fuck I’ve ever had. Like beating my head against a wall. Asia is a snob, and really what room does she have, she’s old and washed up like the rest of us.
Why doesn’t somebody do the doc, “Death After Porn”, and stop glamourizing the very finite few who survive financially, emotionally and ‘vitally-statistically’ DEAD.. there are plenty of more interesting and less glossy stories about the death and destruction the porn/sex-selling lifestyle has done to the families and others who survived the lives of so many unkown addicts, throw-aways and desolated souls the porn industry has truly strewn upon so many for so many decades. Fuck Asia Carrera and her html skills.. does anyone really think she gives a crap about all the starlets who she knew along the way who are now worm food..!?
I hate the condecending “pimp recruiting show” tone of most porn documentaries. Were are the trainwrecks, the rapists, the suicides after leaving the industry (Karen Back, Missy), the mentally ill women, the I got into porn and now I’m going to be a prostitute all my life” cases?
I just disagree with Asia on her “making them wait for it” nonsense. It’s such a big yawn to hear porn chicks say they are holding back on such things as “interaccial, gangbangs, anal etc until down the road sometime…” For what reason? Would Bree Olsen have the porn fame she has now if she had waited 5 years to take it up the ass? If you are not into anal or getting you’re face covered with a dozen cumloads that’s one thing but don’t give us bullshit about “making us wait” for such things.
