MSNBC reports that-The first witness to take the stand was the victim herself, she is now a 22-year-old education student who said she went to sleep on September 12, 2007, and woke up to two men in her room after feeling someone sexually assaulting her. She testified both men, now identified as Christopher Reid and Kyle Schott, leaped to their feet and ran out of the room but not before the victim got a good look at the suspect.
"I saw his face," the victim testified. "I’ll never forget it."
The defense claims the woman’s testimony today that Kyle Schott was between her and Christopher Reid indicates that it was actually Schott who was the rapist.
"Schott is a rapist," defense attorney Chris Bugbee said.
Schott made a plea deal with prosecutors to testify against Reid. Schott is currently serving 13 months for third degree rape and burglary.
