As far as performers go, of course being nominated is a big deal and winning even bigger — well more so I guess for female performers who know how to parlay a better resume into more jobs. I don’t know how it works for male talent, but the more successful you are in your line of work, the more it will benefit you in the long run.
Who cares if the whole award process is corrupt. In the end all the matters is the two sweet months of marketing gold that comes with it.
I bow on my hands and knees to the AVN goes for those nominations – even if I never win because the nominations alone to me are cold hard cash.
I think that the awards for performers is important for them and their career, for sure.
But I think that the qualifications for specific categories should be a little more rigid. For example, the best pornstar website. Out of the list of those nominated, myself included, only 3 or 4 have anything to do with their sites in any way. I’m not saying that a site run by premiumcash can’t be nominated, but I do think that the fact that the site is run by a corporation and not in any way by the model should certainly be taken into consideration.
