He DID show is birth certificate. The short form birth certificate is what everyone in the state of Hawaii gets. The long form one is considered government property and no one gets a copy of it. The administration had to have Hawaii bend their laws for them to obtain a copy of it.

Its easy to doctor a certificate. The problem is this is coming from the White House, NOT the records in Hawaii or the records from the alleged hospital he was born in.
The question begs to be asked- where did the White House get this certificate from? Are they pretending the White House is the original source of it because they just may be? So, the YEAR of birth is the question, not the place of birth (from the comments section on that page). That is fascinating. Although, as I understand the law, he’d still be a citizen were he born in Hawaii before it became a state — Hawaii then still a territory under US jurisdiction.
However, regarding the layers, scanners create them automatically, as do programs like Adobe Acrobat and Illustrator. Scanners do it, often by default, because it’s faster and it enhances scanner performance — unless you’re regularly scanning something like a photograph (as photo labs do, for instance), you generally want the scanner to pick out the graphical elements in the pre-scan, and then only scan those sections detected in the pre-scan. I would expect a state clerk’s office to use that method.
It’s also just as likely that parts of the scan were lighter than others so someone at the White House said, “Hey, let’s darken that for readability.” Now, had they been smart, they would have published both versions — light and dark.
There are a whole bunch of questions. I’m not an expert in forgeries and whatnot, but there are a lot of ways of looking at this. What about this “Barry Soetero” issue?
