I have to say I knew something was going on last week when I received a press release about Armani attending Exxxotica. It wasn’t what the P.R. said that interested me, it was what it DIDN’T say. Armani had her own press release and the pictures of her were from Danni.com. No where in the release did it mention her as a Digital Playground contract girl. Hmmm. That means that either she is not longer a DP girl or she is deciding whether she wants to continue being one.
Especially since I received another press release about Riley Steele, Jesse Jane & Stoya attending Exxxotica as repping Dig Plygrnd. So something was fishy…..
When I wrote to Monstar (Alex of The Star Factory, Armani’s publicist {and boyfriend, shhh}) and asked about it, he didn’t answer my e-mail, which was unusual. (Monstar & The Star Factory are another one of the GREAT Publicity companies)
So when I saw Monstar in person and asked him about why no DP mention in Armani’s release he told me a few things, but since it all was up in the air at the time, I choose to let Him & Armani figure out what they were doing before I printed anything. I’m sure she will do well… She’s not the first who wanted more control of her career..
She gets a bit part on an Adam Sandler movie that will probably end up on the cutting room floor and now she thinks she’s hit it big? She only got her Digital Playground contract because she’s dating Monstar who knows everyone at these companies. Now she says goodbye to the people that made her a bigger name than she was before and who had plucked her out of gonzo.
I don’t know what happened behind the scenes there. But it’s sort of karma thrown back at Digital Playground. Convincing these girls to hand over 100% of their identity and name. Their biggest star is Jesse Jane and she doesn’t even own her name and would have to change her name if she ever left them. Unless she did what Teagan and Tera did and sue to get their names back.
I wonder if she will go back to the name Arianna Armani before DP told her to change her name. I also wonder if Monstar is behind this and convinced her that he can fully run her career now.
AA to be better with no DP in her life. She smart and pretty and no like being controled. Her boyfriend be good man who run her career in a helpful way and make her more famous. DP not a good path for most girl. If it was so many don’t leave there. “Female run company” that treat star like property. Own them brain, body and name. Jesse seem like the only happy story ever for DP. Good Luck to AA.

Now somebody told me what is going on in DP.
In terms of a “fit”, I sensed there might be trouble earlier this year but that doesn’t have to mean either DP or AA were at fault. DP is a great company for some contract performers. Jesse is arguably the biggest name in porn and she has stuck with them since the beginning of her career, working her tail off for any opportunity to expand her presence worldwide. They also helped elevate Tera, Teagan, and Devon into the spotlight by pumping lots of resources into promotion (and Stoya would not have won every newcomer award in the industry over the last year were it not for the help of the DP publicity machine of Adella and Chris).
AA struck me as the type that needs more room to truly flourish though. Alex has done more to promote her than they have since she started with them and his personal touch will likely result in her becoming much better known. In any case, I wish her well in trying to do more mainstream work as well as showing the world just how kinky, nasty, and highly praised she can be when she decides to let loose in her scenes. I know she has it in her just like I know she’ll be an even better gambling buddy next year…lol
Houstondon, are you some sort of PR person for the industry? I know you are a well know reviewer. I have never read you see anything negative toward a big company.

Rics, list five examples of what you consider “big companies” and I will come up with something negative to say about each of them just for you. lol
If you haven’t seen me say anything negative about companies, you simply haven’t been reading a whole lot. I tend to stick with the positive aspects of porn when commenting but have no problems hammering those that fuck up too. This goes for performers, directors, companies, and fellow reviewers as well.
As far as your lack of understanding about AA’s move, there are plenty of possible reasons but I’ll leave it to her, Alex, and/or DP to outline them for you in the future. DP is not capable of making every contract gal into the next Jesse Jane (there aren’t enough hours in the day or dollars in Ali’s bank account to accomplish that feat) nor will every young lady they sign benefit as much by the association.

She’ll do way better without DP. They only slowed down her career. She had a lot more going for her with Monstar. His worked payed off. The REAL Armani can shine again.
They slowed down her career? How so when no one knew who she was until she signed with DP? And if Monstar wanted to run her career, then why didn’t he without having her sign with DP? She broke her contract and that will shine a bad light on her for not being reliable.
