Contrary to Chico Wanker Wang’s claims on Adultfyi that all charges were dismissed, a Thursday morning check of lasd.org using his real name Inkyo Hwang shows he’s still charged with a felony and had to post $1 million bail.

According to the Sheriff’s website (as per Luke) the charges have not been dropped, and Wanker is free on $1M bail. That’s not so unusual in a non-capital case. The purpose of bail is not punative. It’s to ensure that a defendant appears in court when he’s supposed to. Whether or not he’s indicted will largely depend on what kind of photos they took of the girl. (Assuming that she has, in fact, resisted cooperating with the DA.) You don’t really need a hell of a lot of evidence to get an indictment, as opposed to a conviction. You just need to convince the Grand Jury that sufficient evidence exists to warrant a trial. Any Deputy DA worth his pay can indict this guy. Convicting him is another story.
JRV, as for videotaping Haley’s statements, they couldn’t be used in lieu of her actual testimony, because that would violate Wanker’s right to cross-examine her. Unless she became "unavailable" at the time of trial, i.e. missing and nobody knows where to find her, not in porn valley, not in her hometown, not on the dark side of the moon. But that’s an extraordinary circumstance, and judges are reluctant to permit their introduction. They do have a value, though, if Haley decided to testify and recanted her story on the stand, a situation not unheard of in DV cases. Then she could be declared a hostile witness and the tapes (and her Grand Jury testimony) could be used to impeach her credibility.
