Stephen Cohen's Scandalous Attorneys - John Alan Goalwin (70974) And Roger James Agajanian (55393)
Both attorneys are now legal to practice law in California.
Here's the disciplinary record on Goalwin according to the California State Bar:
JOHN ALAN GOALWIN [#70974], 54, of Los Angeles was suspended for three years, stayed, placed on three years of probation and was ordered to prove his rehabilitation. The order took effect May 24, 2003. Goalwin stipulated to misconduct in two cases. In the first matter, he represented a client in a bankruptcy proceeding and a civil defamation lawsuit. The jury in the defamation case found against Goalwin's client, and Goalwin filed an appeal. However, because the client did not pay the fees to obtain the reporter's transcript, Goalwin took no further action and the appeal was dismissed. He did not inform his client about the dismissal. The civil court judgment was deemed non-dischargeable in bankruptcy, and although Goalwin says he discussed the matter with his client, the client cannot recall the conversation. He did not return the client's case file and original documents despite numerous requests to do so. He also stipulated that he failed to keep a client reasonably informed about developments in his case. In the second matter, he represented a client whose friend paid him $3,000 to investigate her matter and another $12,000 as a non-refundable retainer. Goalwin pursued her case, but it was consolidated with others and the client was very unhappy about the consolidation and consulted another attorney. Eventually, she asked that Goalwin provide her file to the new attorney and she asked for an accounting of fees. Although Goalwin advised both the client and the new attorney that the retainer was non-refundable, he did not provide an accounting for two years. He was disciplined previously. In mitigation, Goalwin served on the board of a foundation that runs free drug and alcohol rehabilitation programs in Los Angeles and he has volunteered as a settlement officer in Glendale court.
July 2, 2000 JOHN ALAN GOALWIN [#70974], 51, of Los Angeles was suspended for two years, stayed, placed on two years of probation with an actual 60-day suspension and was ordered to prove his rehabilitation and take the MPRE within one year. The order took effect July 2, 2000. Goalwin stipulated to 11 counts of misconduct in six matters. He failed to refund an unearned fee or promptly return client files, allowed the balance in his client trust account to fall below the required amount, paid client medical bills late, placed settlement funds in his personal checking account instead of a client trust account, failed to provide an accounting of client funds, misappropriated client money, commingled personal and client funds, and failed to properly maintain his client trust account. In a child support action, he did not verify a verbal agreement he had made with the district attorney and a default judgment was entered against his client, ordering monthly support payments of $1,025. He failed to perform legal services in a lawsuit for the collection of a real estate broker's commission. He learned his client did not have a valid claim, but did not withdraw from the case. Instead, he allowed the matter to be lost through two motions for summary judgment which he did not oppose. Judgment was entered against his client in the amount of $2,625, and Goalwin did not notify the client for 10 weeks. In mitigation, Goalwin has no record of discipline since his 1976 admission to the bar, and he served on the board of directors of a foundation which operates three drug and alcohol rehabilitation programs in Los Angeles.

Porn Is Fine For Kids
"Adult materials are for adults only," is a mantra from porn spokesmen, but that saying is a sham. If you think porn is good for society, they you have to also believe that porn is relatively harmless for kids, because if you make porn available to adults, then kids are going to get their hands on it.
Let's use a couple of analogies. First, alcohol. I believe that for most people alcohol is harmless (obviously it is harmful to alcoholics and those affected by alcoholics and by those who drink and drive and those affected by drunk drivers). I congruently believe that alcohol, in small to moderate amounts, is harmless for most kids (even though it is illegal to sell it to them). In the Jewish tradition, for example, kids grow up drinking small amounts of wine on Sabbaths and holidays.
My second analogy is guns. I believe that law-abiding people should own guns and be allowed to carry them around concealed. I believe that there is nothing wrong with kids growing up around guns (as they do in Israel) and learning how to use them. I don't blame guns for crime. I blame criminals. Just as I don't blame porn for rape. I blame rapists.
A big problem in America today is that people confuse what is legal with what is moral. But plenty of things (such as typical cases of adultery and abortion) are immoral and legal.
There's no magical transformation in a person that makes it wrong for him to consumer alcohol and porn one day and makes it ok the next (when he turns 18 or 21).

Luke, I assume you added that last part about the exceptions to prevent yourself from getting a slew of hate mail from all the porn girls who are in the business because they love sex. Well, those whores are in denial, they are in porn because they are lazy and unmotivated to do any work that involves any more than 2 hours of commitment and an activity beyond jerking people off with their fleshy holes.
