Mike South Injured by Stripper, Still recovering

From Mikesouth.com on October 31st, 2011
Yes I am still in the hospital in Dayton.  It’s a rather nasty fracture that is going to require surgery to correct.

Thing is i told this same drunken stripper at least a dozen times to NEVER EVER jump on me, so she gets drunk and is stupid and this time she breaks my leg.  It’s massively painful, it’;s annoying and it’s very expensive and no I don’t have insurance.  Now do you suppose this stripper has called to apologize?  Sent flowers? A Card?  Of course not.

Had my stupidity caused me to do something that painful to someone the very first thing I would do is quit drinking, then I would do my absolute best to make sure the person I hurt was as comfortable as possible, I would see that as a moral obligation.

Is this a problem with people now days as a whole?  Is this what we have become? Seems nobody is responsible for his/her own actions anymore.

If you think this doesn’t apply to porn look around, it’s one of the main reasons we are in the toilet right now and will likely stay there.

This is one of those times I am having a hard time putting my feelings into words.  I don’t want to sound like I am having a pity party but at the same time I have had exactly two visitors, Tim and one of my bartenders who went way above and beyond, she is a good friend and I love her for it.  It’s easy to be friends when its convenient I reckon.

I’m getting myself off the pain meds even though I’m still waiting on surgery maybe that’s why my thoughts won’t coalesce.

NL- Mike is still out from work & in pain. Please give him some crap (or warm wishes 😉 )& make him smile.  🙂

  1. Michael Whiteacre says:

I find it puzzling that this proponent of personal responsibility 1) allowed a stripper he admits he KNOWS gets drunk on the job to continue to work at the strip club he manages; and 2) has no medical insurance. How about your “moral responsibility” to the citizens who’ll have to pick up the tab in the event you have a medical condition you can’t afford?

Mike, what if she’d jumped on a customer and injured him? Think of the lawsuit. This “responsibility” of yours applies to situations that endanger people other than you, as well.

  2. No matter how careful and responsible a person (in this case Mike) is, they can’t always know 100% of the time what a stupid and drunken person will do.

Its easy to kick him when he is down but maybe the girl is a decent person when she is sober? Lets hope the girl got some help? If not then Mike should help her to the door.

  3. Michael Whiteacre says:

@Karmafan – Yeah, but decent person or not, a business is a business and an unnecessary risk is an unnecessary risk.

And, according to Mike’s own account he had EVERY reason to know what this stupid drunken person would do — he had warned her at least a dozen times to NEVER EVER jump on him.

As someone who once moved a wonderful but deeply troubled person into his home who later nearly burned the place down, I empathize with the drive to help a “decent person” — but that still doesn’t make it “responsible.”

  4. Keep this incident handy whenever perusing Mike South’s criticisms of AIM.

  5. Michael Whiteacre says:

Mike “Personal Responsibility” South also writes that Vivid’s Steve Hirsch should “start a program to teach these pornstars to read, so that they may read to these children.”

  6. Sean Tompkins AKA TRPWL says:

The moral of this story, if u hire a stripper that drinks make sure she is A. Less then 100 pounds in case she jumps in you or B. She’s so fat she can’t jump on you.

  7. Michael see when you assume you make a moron out of yourself.

the stripper wasnt worling she was in the club as a customer but even if she was working it its acceptable for strippers to drink if they so chose, so long as they don’t get drunk.

Finally the club has both a general liability and a workmens comp policy either of which would pay the claims at this point we are waiting on the final total before we decide if its worth it to submit it.

No citizen has paid for my medical care nor have I asked for donations or whatever, nor will I so I would suggest you engage your brain before putting your mouth in gear.

Stick to stalking shelly and kissing joanes ass or whatever it is you do.

    Leave Libertarian ideology to Libertarians

    Just sayin

  8. Michael Whiteacre says:

Sean, there is iron in your words, for all to see.

  9. Michael Whiteacre says:

@Mike – Nice job managing that club — every club I’ve ever been in tosses drunks out the door for the very reason that your incident illustrates. They represent a safety risk. Yet you allow a known drunk (“this same drunken stripper”) into the club. Good job, Mike. It sounds like a classy establishment.

As for your lack of health insurance, I’m not talking about this incident; I’m talking about the next time, or if, G-d forbid, you should a serious prolonged illness. Do you honestly think not;s a good idea to not carry health insurance, Mike? Or are you planning to perform medical procedures on yourself after treading the Libertarian’s Casualty Manual.

Mike, why don’t you stick to what YOU do best: being a decrepit never-was blowhard who lashes out at the professional adult movie business that didn’t value him as the genius he just knows he is. You’re so much like Shelley Lubben it’s both pathetic and hilarious, and only YOU can’t see it: i.e., mainstream female adult performers are illiterate idiots; they all have daddy issues; there’ll all too disease-ridden to work with; etc… Plus, you’re a hypocrite who calls people “morons” at the same time he chastises them for being condescending and insulting. LOL

Wake up, Mike. You’re a strip club manager in Ohio who demands that the world recognize him as an authority on an industry he was never a significant part of, and which lies 2,200 miles away. Face it Mike, your name is the punchline to jokes that porn workers here in “the big city” tell each other at urinals.

You’d better call over to the club and make sure the DJ gets tipped out, Porn God…

    Cordially,

    MW

  10. Larry Horse says:

This is a conspiracy, the stripper must have been paid off by Donny Long.

  11. Michael Whiteacre says:

Even the Donkey couldn’t come up with something this stupefying. Here’s an ad campaign for ol’ Mike: “Come on down to Mike’s Club — where drunk girls will injure you! Mention ‘Ayn Rand’ at the door for half-price admission.”

  12. Whitacre I have met some real morons in my life but you take the cake….tell ya what I wont come to your job and tell you how to take cock up yer ass….if you wont tell me how to run a strip club….jesus what fucking idiot.

  13. Michael Whiteacre says:

@Mike – Wow, I lay skewered by your rapier wit.

There’s your problem, Mike: no one can tell you anything because you already know it all. Wow. Impressive.

  14. Just to mediate a little here, We have a DVD here with South’s name on it. It’s in the cheapie section, but it’s here regardless. Whitacre, I’ve never seen your name on anything except LIB, Twitter, and various blogs. I’m not taking sides here, just trying to keep the playing field fair.

  15. Michael Whiteacre says:

Fartz, I don’t produce hardcore porn. You can find my name on three movies currently on national Pay-TV (HBO/Cinemax, Showtime/The Movie Channel) and VOD. Each has many millions of viewings. You can, however, find my anti-piracy PSAs on many dvds you no doubt have in stock — from Hustler, New Sensations, Axel Braun/Vivid, Wicked and others.

You can find my work elsewhere as well, but — as with the PSAs — not all of it is branded as Whiteacre. I was a syndicated writer covering the adult industry for seven years, not under the Whiteacre name. Even today some of my efforts are uncredited entirely, and much of that represents work I donated as a favor or pro bono. I shoot and write all the time; only that which is relevant to the adult industry gets mentioned here. Fortunately, I am in a position where I don’t need to drive traffic to earn a living.

  16. While this blog turns to shit with pissing matches all over the place, Pepe posted a link to a venture Vivid is undertaking with GoogleTv. Honestly, IPTV will save the Industry.

Great work, Pepe. Love the site!

  17. Larry Horse says:

If Donkey only held out a little longer the anti-Donkey alliance would have collapsed, look, South and Whitacre are at war, Trannyfucker fled to England, Shelley’s been shown as a pill poppin momma(allegedly), Earl’s still in business…well that didnt work out. Oh well, all we have left are whatever memories Sean wants to share, which means I will forever be seen as an anti-Semite Nazi by Rapin Roy Garcia. When the next PWL comes along maybe Roy will be finally exposed.

  18. Michael Whiteacre says:

No, Larry, we would have stuck together for as long as it took. PWL trumped all of our disagreements.

  19. Truth is Im not at war with anyone…if someone takes a dig at me I foind it amusing honestly…and an invitation to doig back…Im opinionated but I got really thick skin and if you come at me you better have too.

That said Michael is right PWL trumped any petty disagreements we may have on other levels, we were dedicated to the cause because on that as well as Tara we all agreed that together we could get the job done…and we did.

I believe Michael and I are in agreement on .XXX as well. if only ICM registry were so easily gotten rid of…not that PWL was easy but you get it.

So on that front I find myself four square with Digital Playgroumnd, with whom I have a good relationship, and Manwin whom I consider at LEAST as predatory to our biz as Stuart Lawley and ICMR

  20. Michael Whiteacre says:

Again, I agree with Mike. I know he’s not gonna break down in tears when I take a jab, and neither am I when I get the fully-expected rejoinder. More importantly, we address each other directly — we don’t put up a wiki on the other guy. LOL. That’s because neither of us is a cowardly sack of shit.

Yes, he and I are also in full agreement about .xxx — and I have commended him publicly for having the balls to incentivize producers to not be a part of shows and events that promote .xxx and ICM Registry. He puts his money where his mouth is and that is all too rare today.

The truth is we agree on more things than not, but we’re both opinionated and we strongly disagree on a few big things. I call him on stuff, he calls me on stuff; that’s how it goes. Just because I call him a blowhard that doesn’t mean he’s always wrong, and it certainly doesn’t make him my enemy. I still like the guy! But, when he makes a statement that I consider preposterous, I say something. I have my opinion, he has his. What a boring place this would be if we all agreed on everything. This is a forum of ideas and perspectives, not a concurrence roundtable.

So on that front, I find it detestable that Mike recently wrote that Vivid’s Steve Hirsch should “start a program to teach these pornstars to read, so that they may read to these children.” That’s a libel of adult performers used by the enemies of the adult industry — and coming from a guy with grammar like Mike’s, it’s not only insulting but ridiculous.

  21. The anti-PWL section of XPT is still holding strong.

  22. Jerkuliscious says:

XPT was anti anything to do with Donkey, long before PWL. I think Mark Felt made a post time lining it and saying how a lot of the material from http://donnylongisaconvictedfelon.com/ originated on XPT. I think many of his warnings/threat were originally posted there too.

We came from all corners of the internet to combine three great concepts: Porn, Hate and Humor. We are the lowest rung. If you attempt to go lower than us, expect no quarter.

  23. Oh, I know the history there, jerkers. From the time when he was free game, to the the time when it was forbidden to speak his name.
