Hey, AHF, here’s a cause you should care about, you SHOULD be concerned about , involved with and helping to stop.  Instead of  your grandstanding about condom use in the porn industry

AHMADABAD, India — At least 23 children suffering from a rare genetic disorder have tested positive for HIV after receiving tainted blood transfusions in western India, officials said Monday.

The children all received free blood transfusions at a government-run hospital in the Junagadh district of Gujarat state between January and August, hospital head G.T. Dayalu said.

State government spokesman Jai Narayan Vyas said a team of doctors has been sent to investigate.

News reports quoted Vyas as saying that many of the infected children had received transfusions from more than one hospital. But the Indian Express newspaper reported that parents of the children said they had received blood only at the government hospital.

The children suffer from thalassemia, a genetic disorder that requires regular transfusions.

The children all belong to poor families.

It’s not HIV they should worry about. Transfusions themselves are deadly and are often the cause of “false positives” on those hokey HIV tests. And if you give them AIDS meds on top of the transfusions, they will likely die… then the establishment will blame HIV, of course.

You’re exactly right, Cindi. Regardless of the flaws in the logic of the HIV/AIDS machine, its proponents don’t even act in accordance with the internal reasoning of their own paradigm.

You don’t make the world a better place by destroying an industry that has not had an HIV outbreak in seven years when there are allegedly MILLIONS of people around the globe who are infected. The CDC estimates there are 16,000 people in LA County alone who are HIV+ and don’t know it. Wouldn’t it make more sense to start there?

    Not for AHF.

Not when the goal is to get publicity and political power for yourself.

I was speaking with my friend Jordan Owen today, and he reminded me of a quote attributed to Joseph Stalin: “A single death is a tragedy; a million deaths is a statistic.”

It’s a lot harder to have 20 million Africans cry on TV than it is to get Derrick Burts to cry at a press conference.

As long as we are viewed as children and/or simpletons by authoritarians, demagogues and the lazy media, groups like AHF will stand clear of solving — or even addressing — the tough problems, and instead point to quick fixes and photo ops.

Are you ready for your close-up, Mr. Weinstein?
