As many of you know PWL was down for several hours. It is now back up. Mike South says on his site that the actual traffic PWL is receiving amounts to about 200 viewers a day. AND there is a document circulating on Twitter with instructions on HOW to take down PWL. So if they keep going down, there is probably why. I have a copy of this document, although I am not going to post it here. I have no idea if the instructions really work or not. The key bit to the instructions is the installation of the Slowloris perl package, which is explicitly designed to take down a website. From the Wikipedia article about it:
“Slowloris tries to keep many connections to the target web server open and hold them open as long as possible. It accomplishes this by opening connections to the target web server and sending a partial request. Periodically, it will send subsequent HTTP headers, adding to—but never completing—the request. Affected servers will keep these connections open, filling their maximum concurrent connection pool, eventually denying additional connection attempts from clients.”
Line 15 is the part that points Slowloris to a specific webserver – in this case it targets 93.174.93.179, which is the IP address for pornwikileaks.com.

Jeremy I would bet that there were more then a few industry people posting on PWL. Origen, as far as leaking numbers addresses go, from what I observed on PWL and Mike South’s sites, they were all taken from public search engines and copied and pasted on the forum. As far as Facebook and other social media accounts go, once you have a name it’s pretty easy to go in and find someone. One performer told me who has a facebook fan page under their porn name told me they are asking performers not to friend them under their real names and are shocked that they were doing it.
If PWL’s only focus was exposing crossover male talent (including posting real names etc…), the activities going on at LA Direct and Derek Hay, would there be such an outcry about PWL?
