The World Ends Today! Fail!

NL-This 89 year old millionaire also predicted the world would end in 1994.He is currently in hiding.

In a few hours May 21, 2011 6 p.m., the appointed time for Doomsday, will have passed, irrespective of whichever time zone we are in, thereby proving that the prediction made by Harold Camping is false. No wonder Camping has gone into hiding and it is improbable that he will be showing himself to the public anytime soon without a good excuse.

Camping, the president of a popular Christian broadcasting company Family Radio, made public announcements that on May 21, 2011, 200 million people will disappear into heaven and series of earthquakes that would make the Japan’s earthquake “look like a Sunday school picnic in comparison” would strike various parts of the world, signaling the beginning of the End. Those left behind are predicted to suffer the disasters until October 21, 2011 when the world would be totally destroyed.

Although Camping has been denounced countless times – both by Christian leaders and atheists – Camping continued his belief that “without any shadow of a doubt it is going to happen.”

Camping claimed to have based his calculations on Bible verses. Combining Genesis 7:4 ("Seven days from now I will send rain on the earth") and 2 Peter 3:8 (“With the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day”), he came to the conclusion that the Doomsday – May 21, 2011 – will take place 7000 years after the Great Flood (4990 B.C.).

4990 + 2011 – 1 = 7000 (the subtraction of “1” from the equation is due to the fact that there is no year 0 between 1 B.C. and 1 A.D.).

However, nothing that signifies Camping’s End Time prediction is taking place.

The world is expecting to hear something soon from Camping or he risks being branded as a false prophet. Especially Camping’s followers will be demanding an explanation as they had put all their faith in Camping’s prediction, quitting jobs, selling their possessions and donating all their money to support the Doomsday campaign. Others are probably going to simply shrug and dismiss him as a mad man, which probably many of them have already started doing.

Is Camping going to turn up and say he made a mathematical error again, just like when his earlier prediction on the End Time failed in 1994? (Camping made a prediction in 1994 that the world will end in September 1994, but he said he made a “mathematical mistake” and delayed the Doomsday to May 21, 2011)

But there is no way around of saying there is a “mathematical” mistake in “4990 + 2011 – 1 = 7000”

The popular broadcaster, who has been widely heard across the world, is now maintaining a stoic silence. Meanwhile, the Family Radio headquarter in Oakland, CA display a cryptic message in large letters: “This Office is Closed. Sorry we missed you!” pasted on its front door.

According to a Reuters report, Camping’s house in Alameda, CA is covered with shades and no one was available. Camping has previously said that he would be watching TV and listening to the radio in his home at the appointed time.

One wonders what he is doing right now?

There was never any need for some confusing-sounding pseudo-mathematics. The dolt already said the Bible is ALWAYS right… That’s called “Buy Bull” as the Bible has many, many contradictions. If he heads off a cliff like Steve Driver today he can at least claim some measure of truth in his prediction, otherwise he just needs to change his name to Nostradumbass! He should also forfeit all the “non-profit” money he got in donations over the years because, in actuality, God doesn’t find this dipshit worth talking to.

  2. This is why the leaders of this country are able to do the things they do. There are so many foolish people in America caught up in their faith and what others tell them. Its OK to believe in god but people so caught up in it that they sell everything they own or donate everything but the clothes on their back in the belief that today was the end of the world?

Our leaders can sell us 9/11 and Osama’s execution becuase so many folks have faith that this is America and we do not do sneaky and underhanded shit.

Just look at the news. How often is it “entertainment” news like Arnold’s mistress, a pro wrestler’s accidental death and what Kim Kardassian wore to the beach and while the public is focused on stupid shit like that they don’t notice whats really going on?

  3. I’m still here?? What the hell?? Guess I wasn’t one of the annointed ones.

Yeah Karma, it’s really simple. We work for who pays us and money and politics makes hypocrites of most of us. “Give me control of a nation’s money and I care not who makes her laws”, said the founder of the Rothschild dynasty. Who here thinks the media is some autonomous entity? They are superficial and salacious, by design. We are fed junk to eat and junk food for thought so that we don’t think (not meaningfully or solution-wise, at least). They have us in their clutches… Imagine you’re an alien in a spaceship looking down at the world and what are we doing? We’re collectively staring as if brain-dead zombies into various-sized screens. Look at us instead of the screens we’re looking at and they got us in suspended animation when we’re not busy being slaves to the system. Tesla gave us free energy years ago, but that fucks things up for those in power. And we could have peace, but that also fucks up the agenda to control populations, keep us at war with each other, pre-occupied, stupid and weak. They are and have been succeeding and Obama is just the latest treasonous monkey working for the puppetmasters!

People are going to be making jokes about this LIKE THERE’S NO TOMORROW! lol

  6. Michael Whiteacre says:

    Rapture joke:

    Knock, knock

    Who’s there?

    Nobody

  7. You gotta’ give this guy credit. He did what he set out to do and that was achieve greatness in marketing. Forgive me if this has been said, but he gave himself away before his rapture was even scheduled to start. People were calling in to his radio and TV broadcasts asking him if they can kindly get a monetary donation (guy’s a millionaire from what I understand) because, you know, he’s not going to need that money in the afterlife. Well, he kindly denied giving out his fortune, which completely showed the doubt he had in his made up theory.

Did the rapture happen? Of course not. Do people all over the fucking planet who had no idea who this guy is now know exactly who he is? Absolutely. This motherfucker cashed in, and silly christians ate it up hook line and sinker. Cheers/jeers (depends on how you look at it) to this guy for cashing in on peoples fears Lubben-style.

We’re all like “Ha ha, this idiot was wrong and we knew it” and this guys all, “Ha ha I was wrong and I knew it but now I’m even richer due to the publicity that this got me”.

  8. Yeah, that’s so sickening. He did this all for money…

  9. @Michael Whiteacre

Is there a Jewish rapture? Not trying to be rude, Im being serious…

    It seems like such a Christian-centric thing…

  10. Michael Whiteacre says:

@Voltaire – Nothing about your question is rude. No, Jews do not believe in a Rapture. The concept of the rapture is from the New Testament. We also don’t believe in original sin, so there’s no need to repent for it. Nor do we believe there’s 144,000 specifically chosen.

Judaism is a religion of lots and lots of rules for THIS world, with the goal of peace for mankind by creating holiness in the world in which we live – so that we may restore the world to the “perfection” of the days of the Garden of Eden. That’s the purpose of following the laws of the Old Testament and doing good deeds, or “mitzvot.”

  11. jeremysteele11 says:

Jews haven’t had their savior show up yet, which is a good thing, otherwise that messes up the whole religious status quo.

Judaism crystalised out of many different sources, including shamanic beliefs prevalent in the Mesopotamian area, Zoroastrianism, Babylonian mythos and monotheistic Egyptian cults.

  12. Real Luke Ford Fan says:

0 isn’t a number but Harold Camping and his followers are 100% 0s.

As L. Ron Hubbard, founder of Scientology said: If you want to get rich, start a religion.

  13. jeremysteele11 says:

It’s amazing, Luke, that Scientology has any followers at all, based on the fact that Hubbard actually said that. But, that’s the way “true believers” are. They never, or rarely, at best, let the facts get in the way of a good story or what they want to believe.

  14. Just look at the ICP. Those drop-outs decided to give their fans and followers a name and a purpose, and now being a “juggalo” is seriously a cult/religious thing. There’s guidelines and everything. Every year those fucking hoosiers gather for a festival and turnouts are up in the 30,000’s. That’s pretty impressive for two drop-outs from Michigan who make horrible music. If you’re unfamiliar with what I’m talking about, look up “juggalo” sometime and you’ll see just how scary that situation is. Oh, and for the record. I can’t stand the ICP or their fans.

  15. jeremysteele11 says:

Prophets working for non-profit? Yeah, right!

Robert Fitzpatrick, who spent $140,000 of his life savings to advertise the rapture in New York, said he was dumbfounded when life went on as usual Saturday.

“I do not understand why …,” he told Reuters while awaiting the event in Times Square. “I do not understand why nothing has happened.”

    THAT’S BECAUSE YOU’RE AN IDIOT!

  16. jeremysteele11 says:

What’s even more amazing is that this idiot first predicted the world would end in 1994. Why did anyone listen to him after that? They might as well continue to listen to him about when the next end-of-the-world date is going to happen. This actually reminds me of Robert Gallo, found guilty of “scientific misconduct” twice; the so-called “discoverer of HIV” had previously claimed that a retrovirus was the cause of leukemia, lymphoma and other diseases, and that was proven to be bogus. But we continue to believe in him, as well. What a fucked-up world we live in. We push drugs that cause psychosis and depression on kids with alleged “behavioral” issues… the increasing number of doped up kids and the drugs’ “side effects” coincide with the school shootings over the years. 1 in 10 kids are doped up now. Big Pharm will never stop unless we put them and their whores- doctors and “non-profits” like the AHF, in their fucking place! People need to STOP mindlessly believing in and trusting authorities and start doing some serious research and asking some serious questions!
