You may have thought that troubled former "Two and a Half Men" star Charlie Sheen doesn’t listen to any voices except the warrior shouts in his own head. But the actor appeared to have listened to his audience when he took the stage Sunday night for the second stop on his My Violent Torpedo of Truth/ Defeat Is Not an Option Tour.

After bombing hard during his opening show in Detroit the night before and getting booed off the stage when his wandering production went off the rails, Sheen changed up the format Sunday in Chicago and gave the audience more of what they were looking for: dish on his chaotic personal life. According to ABC News, Sheen ditched his comedic opening act and the rambling multimedia presentation and switched to an interview-style format, with an MC asking him questions about his life and career for 90 minutes.

He talked about the pleasure he gets from his "goddesses" and called former "Two and a Half" co-star Jon Cryer a "rock star." He tried to calm down the crowd when they heckled the less appreciative audience in Detroit and shouted "Detroit sucks!" while waiting for Sheen to take the stage. He regaled the crowd of 3,600 at the Chicago Theatre with the tale of the first time he tried drugs; he talked about his marriages and his legal problems and explained why he prefers to pay for sex. "I have millions to blow, and I ran out of stuff to buy," he said. Smoking throughout the show, Charlie lamented his dad Martin Sheen’s advice to pass up "The Karate Kid" in favor of the chance to appear in "Predator 2," never mind, as CNN pointed out, that "Predator 2" came out six years after "Kid" and Charlie did not appear in it.

Sheen reportedly stayed up all night on the bus ride from Detroit to Chicago retooling the show.

He ended the night with a poem, which read, "I stand before you oh captain oh captain to most humbly praise you for this radical ripple this single cast stone in the stagnant puddle that is the known universe. Your weapon of choice is wordplay via Dr. Seuss play."

It remains to be seen how the rest of the 20-city tour will do, with reports that a number of shows are suffering from poor ticket sales in light of the bad reviews of the Detroit appearance.

I for one wish him luck. Personally I think Brandon Iron is way more funny and original than Sheen but hey, if Dane Cook can sell tickets then why not Charlie.

His 3rd stop in Cleveland is being heralded as a “major league” hit. A fan tweeted that she wasn’t allowed to buy bottled water because Charlie was worried about getting pummelled by them.

I guess the 1 Man and Two Women show beats 2 1/2 Men.

Following Charlie’s tour is sort of like following the O.J. trial. You don’t what’s gonna happen next.

Fame, drugs, prostitutes… Now that’s a winning talk show!

  3. Everyone is riding the Charlie Sheen train to see where its going and want to be there when it crashes. Its only a matter of time.

Good Charlie interview on Access Hollywood.

  5. Latest news out of Boston is that Charlie is in talks to go back to Two and a half men. Ninety-nine percent of the reviews of his show that is touring the country are negative. Charlie said on WBZ-AM that he is about 85% sure he and Warner Bros. will be able to cut a deal.

    Here is news from Comcast…

In the same interview, which he conducted Wednesday morning after his tour bus rolled into Beantown for more live appearances, he said his residual payments for reruns of “Two and a Half Men” are being “withheld” by Warner Bros., possibly as a result of the $100 million lawsuit he’s filed against the studio alleging he was wrongfully dismissed from the TV show.

“I’m supposed to [be getting paid], but that’s – what’s the term? – being withheld,” Sheen said on the radio station. He said he felt it was “unfair,” probably because the residual payments must represent a pile of money since repeats of the sitcom air all over the place these days – both on local TV stations across the country and on FX.

“Of course, I want my job back,” Sheen said, acting as if that’s a foregone conclusion, even though he’s stated many times over the last few weeks that CBS, Chuck Lorre and Warner Bros. can take that job and do you-know-what with it. It also remains unclear if the network and the production company want him back. Some stories over the last few weeks say they do. Other say no way.

Hilariously, Sheen actually said, “Had they told me at the end of Season 8 that that behavior wasn’t going to be cool, I would have adjusted it,” referring, presumably, to his hard-partying lifestyle – including the admitted drug use, the frequent binges and occasional run-ins with law enforcement, and the instances alleged by Warner Bros. in court documents in which Sheen arrived late to work and couldn’t remember his lines.

It sounds more and more like now that’s he’s coming off the dope he’s thinking more sensibly. Originally he was “Fuck Chuck”, now he’s like “Gee, I’d sure like my job back”. “Duh…” Also, in that Access Hollywood interview he admits he’s lucky to still be alive.
