2011 AVN Awards Show Re-launches Official Twitter Page
CHATSWORTH, Calif.—Follow all the latest insider news for the 2011 AVN Awards Show by following its official Twitter account at Twitter.com/AVNAwards.
With the momentum building for the 28th annual AVN Awards Show, a new Twitter page has been launched to give fans and followers and inside look at what goes into producing the show, in addition to all the latest news about the nominees, hot photos and more.
From news about nominations, to candid pictures of the stars when they visit AVN headquarters, the @AVNAwards Twitter account will keep its followers on the cutting edge of the most glamorous night in adult entertainment.
On the night of the show, the account will be live Tweeting all the hottest red carpet pictures, photos from the winners circle, an up-to-the-minute list of winners and all the glitz and glam giving its followers the next closest look to the show without actually being there.
Hosted by Tori Black and Riley Steele, the AVN Awards Show takes place Jan. 8, 2011, inside the Pearl Concert Theater at the Palms Casino Resort.
NL- This account did not tweet during the AVN awards at all. There were no winners announced there, no pictures ( ok, there were three pictures). No play by play during the ceremony. NOTHING. There is a tweet saying "are you here? AVN Awards", 2 hours later- a pic of the trophy girls, and 3 hours later "Congrats to all the winners" That was their up to the minute coverage.
LOL, God help the industry, if AVN cannot even announce the names of the winners to the hundreds of thousands of porn fans on twitter.
I had to actually do a google search to find a listing of the award winners to relay to a friend of mine…now that is pathetic!
There was probably no money to be made from it. We can all see the big picture and how this being covered for Twitter would have been a help but maybe no one wanted to cover it because they couldn’t put any green in their pocket?
Will prolly come out in a day or three that so and so was gonna cover it but they thought another so and so was gonna do it.
@PornStarTweet actually did the Red Carpet Photos and tweeted winners for 2/3 of the show as well.

Two years ago, the AVN Awards were the first “event” covered live on Twitter by Chris Thorne of Xcritic. There was supposed to be another woman handling the actual awards but at the last minute she was called off for some medical emergency so he filled in doing double duties. That was before Twitter took off as it has but yes, the AEE/AVN staff does try to have someone in place for this.
No twitter??? So what… This is a business. If a social media network does not produce $$ then it is irrelevant. That is if your a business person. The adult industry is not the good friends club. That may be a shock to some. What pathetic lame with out a life would need or want up the minute updates of a porno awards show? This dog of a “show” has jumped the shark years ago.
