That’s as good as the Santa Claus version of this scene. Folks, if you havent seen the movie this scene comes from, Downfall, see it, it is a very good movie. Bruno Ganz, who played Hitler deserved an Oscar nomination, but since its Hitler he had no chance.
I say it’s a pretty good, not very good movie, Larry. The movie was a long, drawn out, walked-through, redundant, slow communal suicide, for the implicit purpose of providing some kind of apologetic cleansing of German conscious by focusing just on the last dying moments of the 3rd Reich. At least it was in the German language. I still think Hitler faked his death (don’t know though). That was his escape plan. Traudl Junge is shown to have escaped the Russians unscathed… but in fact she was raped by the Soviets numerous times. Not enough barbarism and catching the Soviet and German mindset in my opinion, and no Jews, either. I guess it would’ve been hard to find actors that look the way they did. At least this movie wasn’t directed by Steven Soderbergh.
It´s a ggod movie.
But the escape/fake dead theorie has one little mistake.
Don´t you think a guy like Hitler (who has to be dead right now) would have told at least with his last breath), would have told how he fooled the whole world?
Theorie? Mistake? Do you think life is like the movies? He knows his what his last dying breath is going to be and someone is there for him to conveniently say “I’m Hitler”?
What’s not a theory are the following:
When President Truman asked Joseph Stalin at the Yalta Potsdam conference in 1945 whether or not Hitler was dead, Stalin replied bluntly, ‘No.’ “We have found no corpse that could be Hitler’s.”, Stalin, added, and declared that Hitler had escaped.
Stalin’s top army officer, Marshall Gregory Zhukov, whose troops were the ones to occupy Berlin, flatly stated after a long thorough investigation in 1945: “We have found no corpse that could be Hitler’s.”

Put yourself in Adolph’s shoes. You have at your personal disposal at minimum a number of Messerschmitt planes which can outrun all other aircraft of the day, and U-boats which are notorious for being as stealth as they get. You know that your losing the war, even if you don’t acknowledge it in public. Your guys have been building a post-war Nazi continuum underground movement headquartered in Madrid for several years. Steele, you get this crap theory from Clark? Sounds like one of his HIV theories. Wonder if Clark is one of those PI’s who think they have found the driver of the car that James Dean died trying to swerve around. If you see, that you´ll never live in the world you want to live (in Hitlers case the aryan world).
Do you want to live in that world.
Compare that too Martha Goebbels who killed her children and herself and said she doesn´t want them to live in a world like this.
You have to remember that Hitlers biggest (probably only dream) was to be the Master of the world and a world free of jews.
So, he certainly never would have see that dream come true.
and he would have faced the death penalty, like other huge Nazis (Göring, Göbbels) he didn´t want to give the statisfaction to the enemy.
And in I think 2002, Russia offered the chance to examine the head of Hitler by german forensic Mark Benecke, and they found out that this was Hitlers head, plus they found pieces of glass, from the cyanid pill.
And that Gerhard Weithaupt thing, come one Weisshaupt – Weithaupt. 😉
Its Magda Goebbels. I thought that all that was found of Hitler’s head was a small section of his jaw with teeth. There will always be conjecture because some of the witnesses either died before interrogation, were unreliable(esp those captured by the Russians) and the forensic work was sloppy…understandably so. The stories of the post Third Reich’s figures deaths are along the lines of the JFK conspiracy theories…Himmler was murdered by the British, the US helped Martin Bormann get to South America, Bormann was a Russian Spy and lived out the rest of his life in Russia, the US wanted to save Goring from the hangman and all the so called submarine escapes and plane escapes. The only sure escape plans were through the CIA & the Vatican. It gives one a headache.

One thing I saw today was Henry Kissinger talking about Russian Jews and emigration to Israel to Nixon saying he wouldnt lift a finger if the Soviets started to gas their Jews. It was in a Christopher Hitchens’ article and he has no love for Mr Kissinger who he claims a war criminal…and I agree.

I recently saw an oval office photo of then President Gerald Ford standing in between two smiling advisors, Donald Rumsfeld and Dick Cheney.
It’s these types of guys, who have been around forever who are running things in Washington, not puppet Presidents.
