Jessie Lee Donation Site & Update

November 9th 2010
Jessie Lee is currently stable, and is expected to move from ICU into a recovery room soon. She has a fractured neck, which is being operated on this afternoon. She’s sleeping a lot, but able to talk when she’s awake, and is aware of those around her. And somehow, throughout all of this, she has managed to not break a single nail!

from jessies mom– she is moving all her extremities, with equal strength on both sides. she is sitting up, and yelling at the doctors =)

Jessie’s surgery went well and she is currently in recovery! She’s also been moved from ICU into her own hospital room.

Joanna Angel has started a site that has all Jessie Lee’s info, updates and events to benefit her, plus how to donate. Joanna is of course trying to get Jessie’s bills paid by the car insurance company, but Joanna says on twitter "im trying to get as much as i can but they are of course-  we need any extra help we can get!"

  1. This girl needs to get a lawyer, and fast. Didnt either driver have insurance. Wasnt she in New York, with her boss, for work, being transported to a work related activity by her boss. Was either driver insured?
How nice of Miss Angel to start the ‘donation’ bandwagon. How about your auto insurance Joanna?

    Get a lawyer Jessie, fast!!!

  2. I am ALL for helping out Jessie Lee and we’ll be making an announcement later about it.

But from what I understand and heard, Joanna made an illegal turn and caused the accident. I agree with the above, Jessie needs to lawyer up and go after her.

In fact, wasn’t Joanna tweeting from the police station the night of the accident??

  3. Cadence St.John asked Joanna on Twitter:

“why isn’t your car insurance paying for Jessie’s medical?”

    Joanna replied:

“im trying to get as much as i can but they are of course- trying to be stingy. we need any extra help we can get!”

  4. “they are trying to be stingy”

LOL Its only been two days. She is still in the hospital. Has a claim even been filed yet? ALl of the things that she will be compensated for have not even happednyet. Sound like someone is trying to cover her ass.

Get this girl a lawyer. Traveling for woik, with your boss, on the way to a job youre being paid for, with transportaion provided by your boss, GET A LAWYER!!!!

  5. While I would like to think Joanna’s intentions are pure and good.

Like Joe Know says GET A LAWYER!!

Why is Joanna taking care of any medical issues. She was part of the accident and if she made an illegal u turn 100% responsible for it.

I have been in car accidents, broken nose, back injury in NY and insurance companies weren’t “stingy” at all I got all the medical care I needed at no cost to me. Insurance covered it all.

Maybe Joanna is trying to make people feel bad to donate to her since she will be out of work for so long and will need some sort of income during her off time.

  6. Ummm so how come the paypal “donate” button on the site Joanna set up NOT going directly to jessie lee’s paypal account anymore??? It goes to some other account that’s not jessie lee’s…

    this is getting VERY fishy.

  7. Okay, got some clarification … the Patricia Vetter paypal account is Jessie Lee’s mom.

Anyone know how much has been donated yet?

I don’t think it’s safe to assume some of the conclusions being drawn here.
    1) I don’t think it’s safe to assume that Jessie is an “employee” of Joanna’s
    2) Auto insurance Personal Injury covers medical expenses
    3) Punitive auto injuries are basically non-existent so there is no need for a lawyer or to sue anyone, this is an auto insurance claim – that’s what it is for. This sounds like a routine accident – which is what auto insurance is also for.
    4) Auto insurance companies don’t flagrantly cut checks, they assess losses and damages & then make payments.

I think it’s noble of Joanna and all of the other organizers to assist in raising some money for Jessie, as for lost wages that will be assessed by the insurance company as well, that’s considered in the personal injury – she’ll, of course, may have to prove her lost income.
