Stagliano Trial- OVER!!!

Yes believe it or not, the trial is over. The judge threw out the whole case. All charges were dropped due to lack of evidence. Can I hear an AMEN!!! And a HURRAY!

    Amen!

  2. Hey joe. 😉

    How ’bout them apples?

  3. A true victory for the first amendment. But I would have prefered to see a jury verdict of not guilty.

I wouldnt be surprised to see the carreers of these prosecutors take a dive right down the toilet.

A jury verdict of not guilty would have sent a stronger messsage about what constitutes ‘community standards.” I would have prefered to see an aquital on all charges, by a jury of peers, but for Mr. Sagliano personally, a win is a win.

He was not found “not guilty”,,,a not guilty verdict would have been better, bu Im sure ths Staglianos will be clebrating tonight.

  4. Government needs to stay out of our private lives. They should also stay out of our business lives and cool the insane regulations and taxes but I am very happy that this case has been thrown out. I don’t want to see my government spend one penny on stuff like this ever again. Great job to the legal team and to John Stag.

I’m waiting to hear the backpedaling going on by those that insisted this was one big conspiracy and a “done deal” in terms of John’s certain conviction.

Further, for all the squawking about the judge’s rulings to not allow expert witnesses and other aspects, not a single person mentioned that such witnesses were crucial to the government’s case more than John’s defense (establishing most of the groundwork for their premise). When the judge made that one, I figured John was either being “helped” by the judge for the case at hand or the certain appeal should he have lost.

Lastly, for those that consider this a total victory, have we heard what the costs were? From John’s total financial costs, how much time he wasted on it in one form or another, and how much the government spent (our tax dollars)?

The dismissal is certainly news worth celebrating but let’s not forget that it demonstrates how the industry still exists in precarious times. Had the government tried this with a smaller company, it might well have bankrupted them out of existence or received yet another plea bargain.

  6. Great News. I’m happy to see common sense prevail ! Best to John and family.

  7. Joe, yesterday you were laughing from the mountaintop confident that Buttman was gonna burn. Now share the victory with defenders of the 1st Amendment?

I should have wagered something on the outcome of this trial. Since you were so blatantly wrong, you now have to watch “An American Buttman in London” (1991) or “Buttman & Rocco’s Brazilian Butt Fest” (1999) which are two of his best titles.

  8. And I would have taken that bet….and lost.

As I am sure you have seen Origen, my gripe with the industry has NEVER been an ‘obscentiy’ or religious based opposition.

I have always griped about the lack of any responsiblity of producers to pay for the injuries, illneses and disease that is ,without any doubt, being transmitted on porn sets.

I have always defended their first ammendment rights, it is the lack of responsibility towards the performers whom they USE to create their ‘art’ or “speech’ that I have rallied against.

If you want to waste the time,,,look at all of my posts,,,I have NEVER advocated obscentity charges, and have many times in the past voiced my displeasure with obscentiy prosecutions.

But maybe you could answer this Origen,,,,,,IF somone is directly harmed by the creation of your art or speech, is that covered by the first amendment? Does a pornographers right to express himself include the right to infect someone witha diesease, or just expose someone to a disease? IF somone gets HIV while making a porn movie,,is the producer not liable becuase he was creating speech? Would the person who contracted HIV have had any contact with the source individual if not for the making of the movie?

Great news and congratulations to John Stagliano and all of my friends and colleagues at Evil Angel.

This was indeed a government conspiracy, but apparently the government realized their case is full of crap and the charges don’t stick and pursuing this case will result in further embarrassment , therefore they backed off. That’s not something uncommon for the financially and morally bankrupt, corrupt and pathetic U.S government. Look at the history and see how it’s filled with failed government conspiracies from stealing elections to staging coups at third world countries to spreading genetically engineered epidemics, etc. Nothing is new under the sun.
