I happened to be visiting a friend at a news station here in Los Angeles when the story broke. I saw a lot of raw interview footage. One was with a producer, who did not want to be identified. Heres some of what he said:
-Dong and Hill were friends until they had a falling out in December, 2009.
-Hill could get very angry on sets. He would get into heated discussions about anything from basketball to politics. The producer said he had to tell him to cool it a few times.

The thing I find interesting is how much mainstream press this event received. My guess is because it involves porn. Someone stabbing a co-worker is usually not that newsworthy. “PornStar” is what grabs attention. If the headline read: “Janitor kills co-worker” it probably would barely make the local paper.
I only saw one of the videos, but it seems to me he could have been saved if anyone really cared. A tranquilizer dart, a smoke flare and a quick lasso, or something simple like that at the beginning of the whole thing probably would have worked. Firemen could have set up a safety net at the bottom of cliff or at least could have been there….
But no one cared. I think they wanted him to jump. Sorrysap’s counter-viewpoint was interesting, but way overdone. I think the way things ended up was probably the best solution.
Now… if it would have been a FEMALE “PornStar” instead of a male, and everything else being the same, I think the outcome would have been much different.
