South Park Censored by Comedy Central

NL- In last week’s episode, South Park portrayed Mohammed as a guy in a bear suit. A radical islamic site, RevolutionMuslim.com, threatened them for that depiction. So in this week’s continuation, the references to Mohammed were bleeped out. Comedy Central admitted to adding the bleeps.

Trey Parker has really gone down hill even lower than when he and Matt Stone were extras in the gangbang restaurant scene I was in in “Here Comes Elska” in 1996 before they were ever famous. That “Team America” puppet show was one of the worst movies I’ve ever seen. Of course, most reviewers on amazon . CON liked it.

  3. Mr. Steele, I think they are slightly better off than you are.

  4. jeremiahsteele says:

Perhaps, ih8u2, but is that an excuse to make lousy movies?

With a name like “i hate you” I bet you’re a regular on XPT.

  5. I think Team America is a great movie, it works on the political, action movie and movie industry spoofs all at the same time. And the music…

    “America..FUCK YEAH!”

  6. jeremiahsteele says:

    “Team America.. FUCKn STUPID!”

I thought the southpark guys were a bit more liberal-minded, maybe not, for this movie was a bunghole lickin’ fest for arch neo-conservatives who believe all the official bullshit versions of what’s going on around the world.

I think this movie was supposed to be funny, right? The extended puppet fucking scene was almost close to being kind of amusing, but not really.

What was funny? “There’s no ‘I’ in ‘Team America'” , “Yes there is”?

    Oh, ha ha ROFL, NOT!

Al, I’m curious, could you tell me what movie or movies you think are among the worst you’ve ever seen?

  7. The puppet fucking scene was hillarious, and so was the vomit scene and the dicks, pussies and assholes speech.

The worst? That’s tough to say, I don’t have a mental list of that like I do my favorite movies. I’ll have to get back to you

  8. Real Luke Ford Fan says:

Matt Stone & Trey Parker are Libertarians.

Didn’t they make a movie that parodied the porn industry?

  9. yup, Orgasmo I think it was

  10. Houstondon says:

Team America was a spoof on many things, including right wing extremists just as Orgasmo was a spoof on porn and Baseketball was a spoof on sports. All of them focused on lowbrow humor like South Park does, their approach better suited to the series than full length movies.

Just got back from San Diego again,

I’ve read that in Time Magazine Trey and Matt called George Bush a lovable “Homer Simpson”; a flawed character, but with a “good heart”. This is the man who many consider the front man for the corporate far right, and others a war criminal for instigating an illegal war resulting in hundreds of thousands of needless deaths.

In Team America, they poke a quick jab at the military’s overzealousness, then spend the rest of the film making inane jokes aimed at those critics of the Iraq war incorporating stunning political inaccuracies and not so subtle pro Bush cheerleading, portraying anti-Bush campaigners as pro-terrorist and pro-North Korea.

Perhaps Leni Riefenstahl would have loved this film.

Trey Parker is gay but all the liberal Hollywood actors who condemn America’s nazi foreign policies are called “fags” and then their heads blow up. The Janeane Garofalo puppet says “we should be allowed to read news headlines and pretend they’re our own words”. This is stupid comedy and backwards in regards to our media which is radically conservative, while decrying that it’s liberal.

I don’t see “Team America” spoofing right wing extremism but promoting it.

The Southpark guys are liberal in certain ways and apparently arch-conservative in other ways, sort of like those Republicans caught fondling children and wearing women’s dresses. But all in all they’re confused, sexually and politically and that’s the messages their movies share with us.

“Orgazmo” showed a lot of close-ups of man ass, but not one nude or topless female, even though it co-stared porn stars! Trey also portrayed himself in the film as a Mormon.

I have enjoyed South Park’s episodes on World of Warcraft and Scientology. Sometimes they hit the mark and it’s good stuff.
