Ok what an story title right? It’s like opening a book you’re writing about cooking with "turn on the oven…"
But I’m writing about the other side of the issue on this one, not about the girls using. I’m writing about the directors and companies who continue to shoot girls who are notoriously fucked up strung out and drunks on set and off. Isn’t it actually illegal to shoot a video of someone if they are under the influence at the time that they signed their release? If it isn’t illegal it certainly voids that release. When you shoot for most companies now they not only have written releases they video you signing the release as well as have you make a statement verifying that you are not under the influence of any drugs including alcohol at the time of the recording and the signing.
Once again I bounce a big portion of the blame here on the agents who keep sending these girls to jobs when they know they are showing up to set really fucked up and putting other at risk if there are needles being used or whatever else high risk activity goes along with their addictions.
I know one girl who is my friend and whom I really like as a person but she is a total fucking wreck. Her life was pretty much destroyed at an early age by sexual abuse and she had a child as a result of a rape when she was 15. That child is now all fucked up at 15 years old and living on the streets. This girl has a lot to justify being fucked up all the time so she doesn’t have to deal with her tragedy of a life. She has breakdowns on sets and more often than not shows up totally fucked up yet she has one of the biggest names in the business. This one I know personally and know it to be a fact.
There are many other girls who are known drunks who are in the top 5 in the business. They show up slurring their words because they drank and took xanax which is as common in porn stars purse as condoms and lipstick. I am one who takes an occasional drink on set because I am terrified by dialogue. I can be naked in front of anyone but when it comes to dialogue I have absolutely no confidence at all. A few glasses of wine really helps me with that. You won’t see a video of me drunk though or incoherent ever.
My cam shows used to be a drunken exhibition because I was so insecure about the talking part. I’m being honest here and I think a lot of girls do the exact same thing. They get the jitters over the whole process and take a drink or 2 to calm down. I have no issue with it as long as you don’t get drunk and it shows on camera.
I would love for their to be intravenous drug testing with the AIM testing but it’ll never happen. I would love however for these companies to stand up for the quality of their product and refuse to shoot a girl who is too fucked up. Many of them do but I’m afraid not enough of them. And I honestly doubt that most would turn away a top name girl and send her home for being fucked up. I think they would just roll with it because they would be afraid to piss the girl off or maybe they can even get her to do some extras without paying for them.
I had a drug problem during the 7 years I took of from shooting movies. I own up to it and I don’t use meth any more and haven’t since 2003. It’s a vicious evil drug and I can honestly say it would have killed me if I wouldn’t have stopped using.
I ran into a lot of porn people during my days as a tweaker and some are still active in the business and still tweakers which disgusts me that anyone would hire someone as tweaked out as these people are.
As fans what are your opinions on this? Do you care of girls are fucked up during scenes? Do you even notice? Which stars do you notice to be fucked up regularly? Inquiring minds want to know! 🙂
I agree Mariah it’s not right. I’ve seen a couple of scenes like that. Don’t know names because I’m still trying to figure half of them out usually. If someone has to take Alcohol and Benzos to do something, not only do they not want to do it, but they want to have as little memory of it as possible.
I agree with Prae to extent, overly fucked up females are annoying in whatever setting, however product is product and I don’t really care. If I go to a restaurant and the cook was high on crack but the steak came out lovely I don’t care. Everyone lives their own lives and makes their own decisions.
I don’t know what the point of drug testing would be. It’s not like they’re going to fly a commercial plane afterwards. I feel everyone in the U.S. has the right to fuck themselves up as much as they want, it’s part of their pursuit of happiness.

Who the fuck are you to decide this? Directors and producers are not responsible for what other adults do. Mariah what law school did you not graduate from? Yeah that’s what I thought. Please… The product we turn out here in jizz valley is watched for approx. 8 – 15 minutes till the viewer shoots his load. Then it is put away and not watched or thought about untill the next jerk off session. As far as your comment on you doing dialog… well that speaks for it self.
If Porn Valley ever did manage to totally take ‘drug use’ out of the industry, would there be anyone left to actually be in the thousands of releases made in a year?
Likewise, as a few have already taken you to task for over your own drug abuse problems Mariah…wouldn’t you have made a handful of movies while still under the influence (but not yet struggling with a full on addiction problem)?
Therefore, are you advocating you’d wished producers/agents back when you were a tweaker had pulled you aside before a shoot (which I’m betting you were really happy to have, so you could later score, unless the timeline is that you first quit porn…then got hooked on meth…then got off and decided to return to porn) and politely set you straight?
If that’s the case, then are we not all adults and therefore can take care of ourselves. Likewise, if we agree we’re all adults and I’m NOT my brothers/sisters keeper, if a girl shows up on a set wasted…and they’re not sent home…then the adults on set all made a decision to just go on with life (living with the consequences of their decisions — as say, Devon and those producers did on the set of Devon Does Baja)?
wait a minute guys…I never said I got drunk or fucked up to shoot a scene. I said I have had a couple glasses of wine throughout a shoot. There’s a big difference between that and being so fucked up you can’t stand up. Or so fucked up you start curing at everyone on set and spitting at the camera which I’ve seen. Or how about the set i was on waiting for another scene to finish and the girl was so fucked up that while she was fucking vaginally that she shit all over herself and the male talent?
Also I quit shooting in December of 2000 and didn’t return to shooting until 2007. I tried meth for the first time in 2003 and for the last time in 2003 after an 8 month binge. I own my own mistakes and I also am the one who took the steps to stop using. I never used any drug other than alcohol on a set and can honestly say have never been drunk on set before. I admitted that there was a time when I was doing cam shows every day when I first started my site where I was drinking way too much. I don’t do that any more. I will have a glass or 2 of wine during a 1 or 2 hour cam show so Jeremiah your 3 glasses per hour comment isn’t relevant to me, but thanks.
But one of the points I made here that hasn’t been addressed is the legality of a girl not in her right mind being permitted to sign legal documents and perform an act of sex which is something that is cleary stated in most written releases and all video taped releases.

So now that Mariah’s Meth Timeline has been established — can you also answer the question, do you want MORE state/federal regulation in the adult industry as you’re proposing that producers/agents/directors and even fellow talent, report on each other’s activities (before, during and I suppose even after they leave the set). I’m no legal scholar either, but it seems you’re proposing wading into some serious issues regarding the right to privacy.
Porn Valley isn’t your typical white/blue collar job that has actual legal ramifications when employees are intoxicated and/or the workplace is deemed to be unsafe because employers allow people to be intoxicated while on the clock. Again, I go back to the example of Devon Does Baja, in which it was widely alleged by the title star that she was sexually attacked on set (likewise, the producers flatly denied the charge). One can also go back to the ‘Classic Era’ in adult (the 70s) when there was untold tons of drug use, and who knows what else going on, and yet — there wasn’t a flood of people turning in their fellow performers for being morons wasted on coke/heroin/pills/alcohol et cetera.
So unless someone is going to actually file charges (with OSHA or the local cops) the next time they see open drug use/extreme intoxication, then nothing related to such issues will ever be settled in this industry (as how will anyone else in Porn Valley be put on notice that such behavior and activities will not go unanswered in a court of law).

What I think Mariah wants addressed, and I don’t mean to put words in her mouth if I’ve misunderstood her, and no one seems to want to talk about, is the legality surrounding consent for intercourse. Can an intoxicated person legally give consent? (Not only consent for sex, but for said sex to be filmed.)
I’m no legal expert, and I don’t know about porn contracts people sign with regards to intoxication so I honestly don’t know. Here’s the thing though, nobody cares (especially outside the industry). I mean that generally speaking and specifically speaking. Girls aren’t going to report it because they’ll lose money and job opportunities; no one will want to work with them if they burn their bridges. The men certainly aren’t going to report it. The male talent are getting paid and laid. The directors and producers have a product to put out. Do you really think porn wants to open itself up any more than it has to the general public. We only see what they want us to see for the most part. If you don’t care enough about yourself to not sell yourself for money, to not abuse substances that will kill you, to be exposed to countless STDs that harm your health, why should anyone else care?
For the most part these girls are still viewed as prostitutes. Nobody cares if a prostitute is raped, robbed, or beaten. Right or wrong, that’s social hierarchy. You’re only as respectable as what you do.
Now morally speaking, I personally think it is completely wrong to take advantage of someone under the influence regardless of if they say it’s OK or not, but that’s just me. I try to separate any rational/moral/humanistic thought when I’m thinking about porn though, because if I didn’t I wouldn’t be able to enjoy it. It ruins porn for me if I start thinking about all the sex for money, drug use, STDs, unprotected sex, the hundreds of scenes some girls do, abortions, prostitution, children born to porn parents, young girls having sex with really old guys, hot girls having sex with really ugly guys, etc. Which is why I treat porn like one of the posters above alluded to…as “entertainment” and nothing more.

Excessive drug and/or alcohol use can be dangerous to oneself and others, personally and professionally, and, more importantly, it weakens the immune system, which makes you and everyone else more susceptible to various sicknesses and infections.
Every vice has it’s price! And if you’re not in good health or too doped up on the set, everyone pays the price, inevitably. Worst of all, we pay the price without getting the benefit of the high.

I’m not precisely sure how they got the numbers but interestingly they’re both about the same.

Of course many of the ones who’ve died will have died young, from stuff like drugs and suicide, when most of the people who’ve done porn are still pretty young. The ‘study’ I’ve seen included all the AIDS deaths in gay porn too – no wonder it was so low.

What if said someone’s vice is heroine and they shoot it up and have shared a needle? That shit still happens to this day even with free needles being handed out and all the info on it. I was told by a meth head that he and his wife share needles every time they use together and that they’ve shared with others more than once.
I have never used a needle and I stuck to snorting it and smoked it at the end.
But again, this is absolutely no different than what I wrote about a few months ago regarding male talent shooting their dicks before scenes. It’s a health issue as well.
But yes, I do question several aspects of this from the legality of the releases that is signed or video taped to the health risks and then there’s the ethical question of the responsibilities of the producers and directors to allow these girls to ruine themselves.

I forgot to address your question I’m sorry. I think that anything that is being done that harms the talent should be reported to someone.
If girls are being filmed while they are fucked up and their releases aren’t valid and later on after they sober up guess what? They can come back and sue those directors for publishing that content without a legal release. Its a fact and therefore it is affecting far more than just the talent.
I don’t believe in violating someone’s privacy but when it can affect the health of other people there can be exceptions. How much different is it than publishing test results from HIV and STD results? If you test dirty guess what? everyone gets an email that you are dirty until you verify and test clean. what’s the difference?
You’re probably right. Kendall, but there is some truth to the stats, most likely. Plus, you’ve seen some porn girls age amazingly fast within say 6 months, a year, two years (etc)…
Despite RAME’s best efforts, we don’t know the living status of a majority of porn workers. A significant portion could be dead.
Bravo, Mariah! This issue is important. Hell, its the Rosetta Stone to slowing porn’s decline. Institute a NO DRUGS rule and the talent pool will decline. Decreased talent slows production Industry-wide. Production slows but profit margins may increase in the long run as distributors raise prices. The supply of sex workers is always pretty inelastic (you gotta be desperate or kinky to want to do porn). Its only upon increased profits that performer wages rise.
Wanna get rid of the fly-by-night producers that increase competition while lowering quality? Strengthen Industry practices and protocols. Drugs would be a good place to build right on top of AIM testing.
IN my 13 years of shooting I remember shooting several women over extended periods of time. it always amazed me how it was like a time line from start to end. Started with real boobs looking cute and fresh. About 6 months in came the bolt on’s and the look getting tired but not used up. At about a year or a bit more she was needing a real makeup artist to make her look fresh again. I am sure you get the picture. Usually a bit before the bolt on cam the drinking and or the drugs. If the girl lives in one of the agent house it seems that could start with in days of starting in the business. All these girls do is work, shop and party for months on end.
I look back at my friend Alexandra Quinn and look at her progression and how sad it was. I felt helpless trying to help her. So many of these women I think feel trapped but at the same time don’t understand how to crawl out or to save themselves due to lack of self esteem and being just to wasted to manage it.
It takes a special kind of person to enter adult and never become an addict on the talent side.I have known a few and those women are the ones that had brains and used them to.
As for the legality of shooting fucked up girls. I asked my attorney once about it. This was right after a women had shot with me and asked for her footage back. I gave it back to her I did not want to feel guilty about it. I was basically told from that day forward to put on camera they where of sound mind and body and 100% sober. I also would tell the agents to never send me a fucked up girl cause I was sending her back. I got sick of losing time and money from girls locking themselves in the bathroom. Or sleeping of there troubles. or just being hard to deal with.
Mariah is absolutely right that this industry needs to care about it’s people and work with in the industry to clean up it’s act. Especially in economic times like this where every shoot is so tight on budget. Not just that but we as people need to treat those that need help in a better light and get them the help they need.
Aim really should step up to the plate but they never will. For everything they claim to be they are still just as bad as the rest of the industry.

As for intoxicants i was on your side if it with, its ok to have a FEW glasses of wine before a set IF thats what takes for you to give the director what their wanting from you. My vice is I drink Redbull, if i drank 6 then broke some furniture or had a stroke thats gonna be a problem just like anything else. If MODERATION & Personal responsibility seem to be in order then its not voiding the release of why you’re there that day. But any illegal drugs no matter what they are can be a problem even without needles.
If our sets are at risk of being invaded by the LA Health dept,or Cal/OSHA some day then the illegal drugs make us all look bad on set.We cant control everything around us but we can try to understand it.
Some good points, Johnnie. Success need not be a form of suicide. The tragedy of accererated aging amongst the hapless fast-lane youth of porn means lowered immune systems, which means a fertile bed for opportunistic infections that all of us have to deal with or be wary of.
Regarding our modern day cosmetic Frankenstein creations, I’ve read of or have talked to dudes who actually prefer fake tits to real ones, and I will never understand that. Assuming they’re not deflated flap jacks, missing from cancer or deformed, leave them alone! I think that’s part of what wrecks women, having foreign objects in their bodies. I don’t think the body reacts or favors it, too well. They don’t look or feel real 99 percent of the time, at least, and women lose their natural good looks and delicate femininity.
Any good photographers who work with natural light, natural surroundings and the like (as well as fans of) should understand how big fake knockers stand out like a turban wearing Taliban terrorist in a Christian church.
And what is it about men/trannies trying to look like women AND women trying to look like trannies? They’re both meeting in the middle and it sucks! I suggested to one female talent once not to get a boob job; that she looked fine as she was. She expressed utter contempt and hatred to me for having said that, said she’s gonna do it, did in fact, and now she has a couple of hard halved coconuts inside her chest where her soft medium-sized titties used to be and she looks more like a tranny than a female. I think the world has definitely lost it’s fucking mind! I remember reading a female talent expressing the same lament about another female talent for having “wrecked” herself, so I’m definitely not alone here.
Keep in mind, ladies, if you have self-esteem issues, cosmetics never gets to the root of it, and neither does drinking or drugs. And when you stand ruined on the side-line, that won’t do anything for your self-esteem, either.
Jenna Jameson, in her book expressed regret for having her boob job. We should admire her honesty, and girls who always looked up to her should heed and remember this. She also admitted to doing meth and other things.

Stars’ need to be in a conscious state of euphoria while on the set so they can give the best performance possible. Do I really need to argue that weed rocks the libido?
As for the hard drugs thats always problematic. It’s really up to the discretion of the director of what he/she would allow on set. Personally I prefer the organics.

I can’t remember the last shoot house I walked into that didn’t smell like weed lol I don’t smoke weed other than maybe a few times a year but don’t have issues with others who do as long as they aren’t those stuck stoners who can’t complete a sentence. Otherwise blaze that shit up! 🙂

If we were to watch out for our industry from the inside it would be a much healthier and fun career to have. I admit I wouldn’t want my daughter to tell me she was gonna be a porn star, but I do know that now I am here I am going to make the most of it on my own terms. I said “hard drugs” can be problematic. Weed & Alcohol(though alcohol can always be a problem, if abused) are okay when used responsibly. There’s a big difference between a drug user and a drug abuser. Weed & Booze is okay on the the set if used for it’s purpose: Getting your mind into that uninhibited sex zone!

I did a presentation in college years ago where I explained to the teacher and the class that the word “Education” comes from the word “educe”, which means to bring out. Sorry to further jack this thread, but this is sort of along the lines of education (and drugs in porn is a really boring subject). Jeremy, have you ever heard of the Lookout Mountain Laboratory, located in upper Laurel Canyon and once a highly top-secret military facility? Here’s a bit of detail:
“What would become known as Lookout Mountain Laboratory was originally envisioned as an air defense center. Built in 1941 and nestled in two-and-a-half secluded acres off what is now Wonderland Park Avenue, the installation was hidden from view and surrounded by an electrified fence. By 1947, the facility featured a fully operational movie studio. In fact, it is claimed that it was perhaps the world’s only completely self-contained movie studio. ‘Conspiracy Theorists’ are often dismissed with the quip that nothing can be kept secret, yet here is a facility producing more films than all of Hollywood combined, involving hundreds if not thousands of people over the years right in the middle of LA and there was no ‘evidence’ of it until the 1990’s.

It seems Lookout Mountain was “Manhatten West” and was mainly involved in the Hollywood filming and editing of the Manhatten projects.
Also, regarding the Manhatten Project, Adolf Hitler supposedly did not die in Berlin in the last moments of the war. The “burned body of Hitler” that has been shown over and over again was not that of the Reich’s Furher but that of Gustav Weler one of Hitler’s body doubles who had recently died and was kept in a walk-in freezer for just such an occasion. To perpatrate the hoax the body was shot to mimic suicide.
Just before the end of World War II Adolf Hitler contacted President Franklin D. Roosevelt and offered him a bargain. Hitler would give the United States all of the Nazi German atom bomb and rocket documents and the locations of the hiding places of his top scientists if the United States would give him political asylum. Yup, the “moon-landing hoax” (which, incidentally, I’m not signed-up on) is one film project that’s been theoretically assigned to the LML. What’s particularly interesting to me is, with so many people working there for more than two decades, including lots of A-list Hollywood directors and technicians, that so little of what was being done has been brought to light. As far as the claimed sightings of apparitions in the Laurel Canyon vicinity, it’s known that research was being done at the facility on 3D and early holographic technology. The spooks were at play, but they were all wearing suits.

I came across the initial reference to the LML some time ago while reading a blog by researcher Dave McGowan. He wrote a very interesting and lengthy multi-part article on the entire LC/Sunset Strip scene of the ’60s and ’70s, including the oddly high percentage of major music industry and Hollywood figures who came from families with ties to the military intelligence community. Lots of death by suicide (and other unexplained causes) included in that period’s history also, as you know. Some of McGowan’s assertions are, imo, based on conjecture as well as uncredited sources, but he raises some strong points in connecting the dots that sould peak the interest of any thinking person.
As a music journalist, I’ve had a longtime interest in the history of that era and it’s influence on popular culture. The more I dig, the more I discover that not all of the influences were so “groovy,” and the presence of the CIA at the top of Wonderland definitely casts a sinister shadow over the whole trip.

So I looked at the video link provided and sure, it’s an interesting theory but this comment raises just as many questions (that are not so easily answered as the conspiratorial ones claim to do).

Okay, so Giuliani said something on tape…he’s said PLENTY on tape that was either wrong, knowingly false, or some combination of the two. In fact, The Daily Show pointed out a real whopper Giuliani was throwing out there in which he claimed Obama didn’t mention ‘war’ or ‘terrorism’ in his SOTU address (he was 1000% wrong of course, but again, did many in the media correct him? Not hardly…either in the moment he was making such a stupid claim, or afterwards).
So again, Rudy says a LOT OF DUMB SHIT and so perhaps, this is simply another moment in which he might have simply been saying he’d been warned previously (as I’m sure Steele recalls the first ‘attack’ on the WTC during Clinton’s first term) that terrorists wanted to take down the WTC.
Also Steele, explain HOW there are no seismograph records from the WTC collapse that proves there were ANY type of control explosions that occurred.
As for the whole debate about the ‘inner structure’ I believe this what it relates to;
Nearly every large building has a redundant design that allows for loss of one primary structural member, such as a column. However, when multiple members fail, the shifting loads eventually overstress the adjacent members and the collapse occurs like a row of dominoes falling down.
The perimeter tube design of the WTC was highly redundant. It survived the loss of several exterior columns due to aircraft impact, but the ensuing fire led to other steel failures. Many structural engineers believe that the weak points—the limiting factors on design allowables—were the angle clips that held the floor joists between the columns on the perimeter wall and the core structure (see Figure 5). With a 700 Pa floor design allowable, each floor should have been able to support approximately 1,300 t beyond its own weight. The total weight of each tower was about 500,000 t.
As the joists on one or two of the most heavily burned floors gave way and the outer box columns began to bow outward, the floors above them also fell. The floor below (with its 1,300 t design capacity) could not support the roughly 45,000 t of ten floors (or more) above crashing down on these angle clips. This started the domino effect that caused the buildings to collapse within ten seconds, hitting bottom with an estimated speed of 200 km per hour. If it had been free fall, with no restraint, the collapse would have only taken eight seconds and would have impacted at 300 km/h.1 It has been suggested that it was fortunate that the WTC did not tip over onto other buildings surrounding the area. There are several points that should be made. First, the building is not solid; it is 95 percent air and, hence, can implode onto itself. Second, there is no lateral load, even the impact of a speeding aircraft, which is sufficient to move the center of gravity one hundred feet to the side such that it is not within the base footprint of the structure. Third, given the near free-fall collapse, there was insufficient time for portions to attain significant lateral velocity. To summarize all of these points, a 500,000 t structure has too much inertia to fall in any direction other than nearly straight down.
A basic engineering assessment of the design of the World Trade Center dispels many of the myths about its collapse. First, the perimeter tube design of the towers protected them from failing upon impact. The outer columns were engineered to stiffen the towers in heavy wind, and they protected the inner core, which held the gravity load. Removal of some of the outer columns alone could not bring the building down. Furthermore, because of the stiffness of the perimeter design, it was impossible for the aircraft impact to topple the building.
However, the building was not able to withstand the intense heat of the jet fuel fire. While it was impossible for the fuel-rich, diffuse-flame fire to burn at a temperature high enough to melt the steel, its quick ignition and intense heat caused the steel to lose at least half its strength and to deform, causing buckling or crippling. This weakening and deformation caused a few floors to fall, while the weight of the stories above them crushed the floors below, initiating a domino collapse.

i agree that lots of people say and do a lot of stupid things, but look at the totality of evidence (assuming you’re looking) and you get to the point you can’t talk yourself or anyone else of what is self-evident
there are many stupid aspects of the 9/11 scam, there was an alleged hijacker’s passport found, clean, unsinged on top of the rubble. talk about stupid, somehow everyone and everything in the tower gets obliterated yet the terrorists passport survives
if we had been diligent citizens back when the ok city bombing happened then 911 probably wouldn’t have happened, just like with 911 there are scores of original media reports live from the scene reporting how multiple bombs went off, also there’s no way it’s physically possible a truck with fertilizer could’ve blown up the murrah building like that, if we had done the homework then, then they probably would’n’t have tried to pull off the wtc scam, but as long as we’re a collectively comatoast population believing whatever stupid shit we’re told just because that’s the official verdict, then worse things may keep happening…

look at the wtc, it doesn’t just collapse, it blows up and outward, and supposedly because of fire? fire does not melt steel unless it’s 2,700 degrees and jet fuel can not reach such temperatures, also the wtc was overfortified stronger than it needed to be, first the steel structure around the bldg would absorb most of the energy of the plane, also the towers had 47 core columns in it’s center, up to 100 mm thick, how do you contradict countless numbers of people’s testimony plus the video evidence? how long can you be in denial?
