This is just flogging a horse until it’s dead… and then flogging it some more. Porn Valley has officially exhausted all of its creativity. Sad.

    So long. It’s been fun.

  2. We love Hustler but none of those titles listed are being directed by Will Ryder. We are X-Play and don’t have any clue what other companies are making including Hustler. They know what we are making of course because they distribute X-Play but we rarely if ever know what others are planning and that includes Adam & Eve Pictures.

It did make me laugh a bit when I read that long list of Hustler movies.
Hustler has been great to X-Play but I have to agree with Third Axis a bit on this one that some of those titles are a bit out on the fringe. I don’t agree with Third Axis when he says that porn has officially exhausted all of its creativity because that to me is not accurate. Flight Attendants is quite creative and entertaining as I think are a number of movies by other companies like 2040 and The 8th Day. Plus our X-Play parodies reek of effort and the best quality possible according to the fans and the critics.

The only point that I would like to make about porn parodies is that I hate it when they are done shitty and just for the money. The companies that put very little effort into their productions know who they are and too bad the customers are the ones getting ripped off when they see a clever title only to be disappointed when they watch the final product. Just like any production be it mainstream or adult, please don’t make shit. Hustler and New Sensations have made some really good movies among their parodies but I have watched a few really big piles of dung from some other companies.

This Ain’t Avatar XXX- I wonder if we have to wear the goggles. I really don’t think Hustler is serious about that entire list of movies. Don’t forget they have a sense of humor too.

BTW: Casting is going well for Not Charlie’s Angels XXX and it will cost us a ton to produce so once again X-Play is putting our money where our mouth is when we could easily cut the budget in half and make a less superior product. We won’t do that and I hope some out there appreciate that fact. Thanks for hearing me out!

P.S. Glee would be a great show to spoof from a creative perspective as would High School Musical but I’m not sure there is a big enough audience that buys porn to justify that type of expense.

Also to be realistic they must have lots of B/B and Bi action. Maybe Trannyfucker should be cast as a teacher.

  4. Third Axis says:

Right you are, Will. There are still very creative people at work in PV, and I was being overly generalizing in my comment, which was directed at Hustler’s announcement. However, the parody genre has to have some limit, and I believe it’s been reached, and now become exceedingly derivative. It’s all downhill from here…

  5. I think you might be correct. We will continue to make movies and parodies as long as they make financial sense otherwise we would stop. I am hearing so much from performers that are not working much because there are VERY FEW 5-scene all-sex movies being shot anymore due to the glut of free porn on the internet. Our movies still continue to sell extremely well so we are OK for the next year or more so I hope the public still enjoys some of our upcoming movies like the sequel to Not the Cosbys XXX which comes out Feb 9th. I am having a lot of fun (seriously) to want to quit the porn business. I get to make movies with beautiful girls which is a lot better than digging a ditch although I am sure those guys get paid a ton lol.

  6. XXXenophile says:

For me the parodies are just simply going to live or die by the script and how much time the writers put into making them something worth getting.

They know the standards set by Will Ryder/X-Play and Axel Braun. The minute the fans see the stuff is just being churned out they (and myself) will stop buying it and it’ll fade away.

But they do need to make sure they take a close look at just what shows are really worth parodying.

I’m still shaking my head at Curb Your Enthusiasm.

Avatar and Glee though I’m all for. With Glee it’ll be fun to see someone attempt another musical porn movie since Misty Beethoven: The Musical.

And make sure someone has sex with the character in the wheelchair!

  7. Somebody please explain to me how these parodies make more money then other DVD/Blu-Ray releases? They’re free just like all the other pirated content out there right?

  8. Houstondon says:

Pornster, this is how a few company reps and distributors explained it to me:
    1) There are more “casual” buyers of the parodies than gonzo, the type of people that might only grab a title once in a blue moon. They are less likely to download them illegally as the hardcore addicts and younger crowd.

    2) X-Play and some others have hired Nate (perhaps others) to aggressively send out DMA notices that get movies removed from popular pirate websites. The harder it is to find something of casual interest, the less willing people will be to seek it out.

  9. People who watch porn on tube sites are looking to “get in and get off.” They really don’t care what they’re watching as long as it’s “good enough.” They are consumers in the purest sense of the word, always shopping for the best bargain (i.e., “free”).

Quality parodies, such as those produced by Will Ryder, attract a wider audience. People who watch these parodies do so for reasons other than just to get off–even if just to answer the question: “how the hell could they possibly make THIS into a porno?”

Thus, there is additional value in parodies that is apparently worth paying for.

  10. eisforeric says:

This Ain’t Curb Your Enthusiasm XXX? Larry David doesn’t wanna see Larry David get laid…

  11. Pornodudestud says:

Will? How many more of these do you plan to shoot this year? is the economy right for this?? looks still soft in LA!

  12. I don’t really know the answer to your question about the economy being tight Pornodudestud. I am sure it is still hurting big time but X-Play must continue on. We will do about 6 this year or maybe 8 but they will all be #1 smash hits lol.
