What moved you about the catastrophe in Haiti to make you want to hold this fund raising event ?
I was raised by a social worker mother who believes heavily in charity. I have always donated time and money to causes I find important. Haiti was in trouble before the earthquake. Hearing the expected death toll of almost 250,000 was all i needed. I was already planning my birthday party and it was a very natural thing to change the focus to help the Haitian people.
Have you managed to find sponsors to help you with the cost of organizing it?
I have found sponsorship with Sweetheart Video! I am so proud to have them on board. I do a lot of work with the company so it wasn’t surprising that Nica and Jon were on the same page. Alexander "Monstar" Raymond and the Star Factory PR firm are sponsoring the red carpet. Also the clothing company Glamhead has donated 12 boxes of clothing to the efforts. I am still hoping to get more sponsors though. Anyone interested can email me at zoebritton@yahoo.com.
How has Twitter and the other social media helped you in publicising it?
Oh, what did i ever do without twitter?! My initial meeting with JB (the event’s promoter), gathering sexy ladies to participate and finding sponsors have all been documented via twitter. I just posted the paypal link for donations and have $50 already! The soft invite is available on facebook already and have 30 confirmed guests and it’s still over a week away. I’m feeling so good about this!
Can you give us more details about what’s going to happen?
It’s going to be held at Jane’s House 6541 Hollywood Blvd. We have a couple dj’s performing and bottle service specials all night. There is a $5 industry/$10 non-industry minimum door donation. 100% of the door fund and half of all sponsorships go directly to onedomeatatime.org for the re-build efforts in Haiti
Which performers will be there?
I am so happy at the amazing girls that are helping me co-host! Monique Alexander, Ann Marie Rios, Charlie Laine, Celeste Star, Karlie Montana, Lexi Lamour, Dia Zerva, Alexa Jordan and many others are planning to make an appearance! Just to follow-up,,,where will the other half of the sponsorships go?
Perhaps its going to another charity or some other good cause….but if it is going to cover the charity’s expenses then this is a rip-off. Any charity that spends more than 15% of donations to ‘cover their costs’ is a scam.
I hope this is NOT the case here? Before I donate anything I want to know where the other half is going. 50% is alot to be going to some place else beside the charity organization.
Sponsorship pays for dj’s, advertising, graphic designers, security, and use of the venue normally. The people asked to sponsor are corporations and know exactly where their money is going. For anyone who wants to DONATE, again, 100% goes directly to onedomeatatime.org. With only 1 monetary sponsors (the others are providing 15 boxes of clothing to be shipped directly to Haiti and the other is providing the red carpet) and over 150 people already rsvp-ed that puts the non-charitable contribution at around 15%. And that’s assuming absolutely no fans, regular club patrons, or any more of the adult industry decides to show up. Our goal is $5,000. That would mean it would be only 5%. But thanks for concern of a scam!
