The 2009 Nobel Peace Prize Goes to An American…-UPDATE with more info

Surprisingly it is President Barack Obama for his efforts in World Diplomacy.

From the Huffington Post– President Barack Obama won the 2009 Nobel Peace Prize on Friday for "his extraordinary efforts to strengthen international diplomacy and cooperation between peoples," the Norwegian Nobel Committee said, citing his outreach to the Muslim world and attempts to curb nuclear proliferation.

The stunning choice made Obama the third sitting U.S. president to win the Nobel Peace Prize and shocked Nobel observers because Obama took office less than two weeks before the Feb. 1 nomination deadline. Obama’s name had been mentioned in speculation before the award but many Nobel watchers believed it was too early to award the president.

  1. I don’t think it’s surprising

  2. Not surprizing, the Nobel and Economic prizes in the last year (Carter, Stiglitz, Krugman, Gore) were the ways of the Nobel prize commitees to say, VOTE DEMOCRAT.
And like many Peace Prices, Obama so far has very little to show for in the real world.

  3. Omaba now joins the ranks of faker Rigoberta Menchu, communist lover Adolfo Perez Esquivel, terrorists Menahem Begin and Yasir Arafat, warmonger Kissinger in the Nobel Peace Price.
And add another similitude with Jimmy Carter to his belt.
The most disgracefull act of the Norwegian Academy was when they gave the Nobel Price to Al Gore.

They passed over a endery Polish woman called Irana Sendler, who saved a lot of Jewish orfans during WWII and even got ther legs broken by the nazis. Gore could has won the Nobel other years, Irena died in 2008 without the recognition and rewards she deserved. She was not a rich woman, having stayed in Poland during comunism. She could has used the money in old age.
That is a site devoted to her: http://www.irenasendler.org/

  4. Time got it right! Miracle!

“Inspirational words have brought him a long way — including to the night in Grant Park less than a year ago when he asked that we “join in the work of remaking this nation the only way it’s been done in America for two-hundred and twenty-one years — block by block, brick by brick, calloused hand by calloused hand.”
(See pictures of Obama in Grant Park.)

By now there are surely more callouses on his lips than his hands.”

  5. According to the Norwegian politicians who designated the Obamassiah, this people were less worthy for the Nobel Prize:

These people were less worthy of the NPP.

•Chinese Human Rights Activist Hu Jia – imprisoned for campaigning for human rights in the PRC, not as worthy as Barack Hussein Obama.
•Wei Jingsheng, who spent 17 years in Chinese prisons for urging reforms of China’s communist system. — not as worthy as Barack Hussein Obama. (Not to mention the symbolic value of awarding a Chinese dissident on the 20th Anniversary of the Tianenmen Square Massacre.)
•Greg Mortenson, founder of the Central Asia Institute has built nearly 80 schools, especially for girls, in remote areas of northern Pakistan and Afghanistan over the past 15 years – not as worthy as Barack Hussein Obama.
•Prince Ghazi bin Muhammad, a philosophy professor in Jordan who risks his life by advocating interfaith dialogue between Jews and Muslims, also not as worthy as Barack Hussein Obama.
•Afghan human rights activist Sima Samar. She currently leads the Afghanistan Independent Human Rights Commission and serves as the U.N. special envoy to Darfur and is apparently also not as worthy as Barack Hussein Obama.

If Obama had the decency of Le Duc Tho he would reject the price. But he have a huge ego and he wants to run as president of the World, so I thing he will get his dong and his million plus dollars.

Here’s (Obami’s) aceptance speach [which his inflated ego loves]: I the “MAN” who was elected as this countrys [BIGEST PUPET] President. Accept’s this award (HELL-YA!) For my 1st 10 days (?) in office. An award [I know I haven’t done a ‘dam thing’ to DISERVE), that I would love sitting in front of me! Thank You, thank you, thank you! [Then the President does a Snoopy-dance.]

Meanwhile: business’ are clossing, people are lossing their jobs, homes and HOPE! Will Obami’s plans for creating jobs ever work: “probably not?”

Pluss we can tack his exceptance trip on to an already unpayable debt…

    Way to go Obami?

Le Duc Tho was a Communist. In 1930, he founded the Indochinese Communist Party. After he was released from jail by French colonial authorities, he continued fighting them until the Geneva Accords were signed in 1954. At which point, he joined the Lao Dong Politburo of the Vietnam Workers’ Party (aka the current Communist Party of Vietnam). He also was a leader in the Communist efforts to destroy the South Vietnamese government.

Furthermore, his 1973 Nobel Prize for Peace (for his role in the Paris Peace Accords) was a co-win with Henry Kissinger (who by the way, engineered the secret bombing of Cambodia during the Vietnam War and helped put that ‘swell guy’ Pinochet into office in Chile). Le Duc Tho refused to share in the honor, as by his estimation, there was ‘no peace’ to be had in Vietnam.

As by the time America left Vietnam in 1975, it was the end of 116 years of foreign involvement in the affairs of Le Duc Tho’s homeland.

Le Duc Tho refused the Peace Prize on the political principle his nation was still at war with foreign powers…not to mention, what honor is there to be had to share it with a guy like Kissinger.

  10. Le Duc Tho is a commie I can respect. He did not want a price he did not deserve because.

    1. No real progress on peace was archived in Nam.

    2. The other winner was Kissinger.

As Orianna Fallacci noted, Le Duc has the honesty to reject the price, Kissinger has not.
