The Colonel says “Color Me Black”

Color Me Black

Op/ED By The Colonel

In the wake of the 8th anniversary of 9/11, we stand where the Roman Empire once stood: a fallen nation divided, under debt with a military force stretched too thin due to 2 seemingly endless wars and on the verge of a complete economical and social collapse. We’ve been staring into the abyss for far too long, and now the abyss is staring back at us. I have this powerful feeling that we’re in a turning point in history, that we’re about to witness the demise of American civilization. Strangely, I feel fine; I feel no regret, no remorse and no sense of urgency. I’ve become insensitive, and I have to tell you it’s not such a horrible feeling after all.

Recently I was watching the War, an extensive documentary about the World War II directed by Ken Burns. The veterans who’ve been there, fought the fight and witnessed unspeakable atrocities were explaining how they became emotionally numb and detached during the war. They were saying when you encounter so much bloodshed, death and suffering, horrible things that you know can happen to you and your loved ones any given minute, and more importantly when you learn the awful truth that there’s nothing you can do to prevent what’s coming, consequently you give in to destiny and become emotionally numb and detached. You can ask any soldier who’s been in a war and he will tell you that.

I’ve never been in a war, because I never believed, I could never justify fighting and killing to protect the interests of a group of criminals disguised as the people’s chosen government, hell bent on global domination and destruction of all life forms from humans to animals, forests and everything in between. I’ve never been in a war, but I’ve witnessed the atrocities, and perhaps the greatest atrocity of all is ignorance: pure, unbiased, unprejudiced ignorance. The ignorance that breeds misery and tragedy, the ignorance that wages wars and the ignorance that elects criminals like George W. Bush and his colleagues and puts the loaded gun in their hands. So eventually when they turn the gun on the very people who have elected, trusted and supported them and pull the trigger and create such devastation as 9/11, I bear in mind that people are getting what they’ve been asking for, what they’ve deserved.  Perhaps that’s why I feel no affection and sympathy, then.

I feel sympathy for the widowed and orphans of Afghanistan and Iraq whose lives were shattered under the boots of American invaders.

I feel sympathy for the animals whose habitat from the rain forests of Amazon to frozen fields of Antarctica have been destroyed by evil, greedy, vicious corporations.

I feel sympathy for an old, sacred planet, lying on her death bed after centuries of human abuse and corruption and insanity.

But I feel no sympathy towards the events of 9/11 and American invaders recently fighting overseas. They made their choice, the choice to elect criminals to represent them and follow those criminals into crusades for oil, money and control. What American people have done, has came back and continues to come back to haunt them unless and until they wake up from their slumber, take matters into their hands and preserve and save what’s left of their country and their civilization.

  1. It’s just that it’s stupid to deal with the Arabs on any level. During WWII when the American GI’s went over to free Europe they were appalled by the English, French, Italians, and especially the Arabs. They’re totally brainwashed and they will always stab you in the back. I’ll give you all you ever need to know.
    1. Lockerbie – Q. Why did they blow up the airplane? A. Because the U.S. blew up the Iranian airliner 5 months earlier 2. 9/11 Q. Why did they fly into the towers? A. Because Saddam Hussein tried to take over the mid-east and the U.S. was afraid to finish the job. We kept a “No-Fly” zone based out of Saudi Arabia so they flew into the towers. The U.S. realized they had to sneak out of Saudi Arabia so they made up a reason to invade Iraq. The week we invade Iraq we moved everything out of Saudi Arabia over to Qatar.

It’s true, we do it to ourselves folks. Bad leadership like Clinton’s, 2 Bush’s, and now Osama destroys the U.S. Reagan didn’t fucking play around. That’s why when he died he got the biggest goddamn funeral the U.S. has ever seen.

  2. Harvey Dent says:

Lockerbie was becasue the US bombed Lybia becasue Lybia bombed several NATO bases and a French airliner becasue Lybia invaded Chad and the French Foreing Legion was kicking their arsess and the Brits has sanctions on them because the Lybians gave several tons of weapons to the IRA and killed a police woman fron the London Lybian embassy.

That sad thing is that the US and the UK never did the right thing and invaded Lybia and hanged Gaddaffi althogether as they did to Saddam.

One of the worst things the US ever did with the Arabs was a Einwenhower accord with the Saudis to get cheap oil no matter what. A accord that has been followed by nearly every US president since. The Saudies them act as US fulcrum in OPEC to get the oil prices down at the expense of destroying the Saudies people savings for the future, and they use that money to promote a fundamentalist brand of Islam worldwide to apease their religious critics at home while they spend the money is stupid things. But the Saudie people becomes angrier. That is the sceneario that created Osama Bin Landen.

I do not believe the Germy, Palast and others conspiracy theories. I do believe that OBL did managed to get planes flown into buildings under the incompetence of the US gov, in fact that conspiracy theories are harmfull becasue they distract people to the real culprits. Long term US oil policies. They did not see the anger in the Saudi People comming.

The fact that latter Cheney and Bush used Sep 9/11 as a excuse to invade Irak despite the fact that Saddam has nothing to do with it, is just a show of the cynicism of US Goverment. In the same way that Obama passed a “stimulus plan” that will be spend mustly in year 2010 to put taxpayers debt money into mainly Democratic party interests. As Mr Emmanuel said, “you shall never let a crisis go unwasted”. That was also Cheney lesson.

Strong words Colonel that hold a great deal of truth.

I think the source of the problem is how politics in your country is run. America will never be able to right itself without real and lasting campaign finance reform. Plain and simple, the politicians are just serfs. They are beholden to their corporate owners that provide them with mountains of campaign donations. Elections don’t matter because — Democrat or Republican — it is about delivering the goods to corporate America. Government will never be “for the people” until that changes.

Sadly, there are no political parties on the horizon willing to stand for those types of needed changes and, as long as there is a reasonable standard of living to be had, most citizens don’t care.

  4. Third Axis says:

Those who take the lead will never need leaders – political, religious, or corporate (all one under the All-Seeing Eye). Thanks, Colonel.

  5. jeremiahsteele says:

This article is an indirect response to my last rant. Thanks Colonel.

Pornster and Harvey, STOP BELIEVING and instead do the research. Leave believing for those who want to believe in Santa Claus, Peter Pan or the Boogie Man.

Pornster, regarding 9/11, all you gotta do is a youtube search on WTC building 7. You will clearly see it was brought down by demolition on 9/11. This takes months of preparation. How did Osama or Saddam do this?

Harvey, you don’t believe? Stop believing. Stop not believing. Do the research. Bush winning all black counties or getting more votes in a particular county than there are registered voters in the county?

And Colonel, if we didn’t elect Bush is the argument that we got what we asked for viable?

  6. Lostbutterfly says:

Everyone should say NEVER AGAIN, empires have fallen over and over because of war’s. Violence beget’s violence. But DUDE being on the Arabs side? Ah, those poor Arab children? Children that these terrorist’s use as human shields to protect themself’s against our military from shooting them and we should feel sorry for them? That’s the problem with this country, we have so many “PUSSY’S” who have the BALL’S to be down with a society with most of the people in that country knowing about and are OK with terrorist’s, suicide bombers, and the like. When somebody spouts off about how sorry they feel for the people of Iraq, they make me sick! I almost respected the man who wrote this, but I can’t because OUR PEOPLE are dying and being blown to bit’s because idiot’s are putting bomb’s in roadsides and abandoned cars and on their brothers and sisters, with the sole purpose of killing Americans. And that means you Colonel because if you think a terrorist wouldn’t put a bag over your head, kidnap you, beat you and cutt your throat, your really nut’s. But you feel sorry for these assholes? Why? Maybe you’re just a trader..? Hey, go live over in Iraq since you love those assholes so much…

  7. The Colonel says:

Thank you for your comments, guys. I appreciate your friendship and feedback.

You’re right, Jeremy. This article is a response to your comments on 9/11 and the current socio/political crisis. To answer your question as to electing George W. Bush and it’s devastating consequences, I believe Bush was a puppet, like Obama is a puppet. 9/11 Was a well orchestrated plan, years in making, all Bush did was he excecuted that plan for his masters, the powers that be. 9/11 Was not an isolated incident, nor that Bush was not simply an incompetent president. He was an agent of chaos who followed an agenda to the bitter end. The problem was not Bush, the problem was and still is the system, the system that breeds, elects and empowers criminals like Bush. The system that American people have been embracing ever since this country was founded on blood and sweat of native Indians and African slaves. The American people got what they deserved on 9/11 and they will continue to get what they deserve unless and untill they come together, make fundamental changes and eradicate the system; and in all honesty, I don’t think that’ll ever happen. American people are getting more fat, more greedy and more stupid every day.

  8. I’m American but the country is so fucked up I won’t live there. I could single-handedly fix most of the problems in the U.S. The first thing King Pornster would do would be to eliminate both parties and institute term limits. These two strokes alone would fix 75% of America’s problems. Of course, everybody would work for me in my fiefdom, but King Pornster is the only way to fix it. Since this shit will never happen the country will continue to flounder into a big pile of shit.

  9. The Colonel says:

True, Pornster, very true. But the tragedy is no matter how deep America flounders into the big pile of shit, the majority of American people are still convinced and deluded their country is the best in the world and feel threatened by even the suggestion of making changes.

You wanna know who really represents America in the 21st century? Niether Barack Obama nor George Clooney; it’s Joe the plumber. This minimum wage earning, uneducated crazy right winger small town buffoon worries that if somehow through some miracle he becomes filthy rich and owns a business and makes more money, it’ll be unfair for him to pay more taxes and that would be an indication of socialism. Stupid average Americans are so frightened by the idea of socialism without even understanding what it really is, without being able to compare their fucked up country and their broken system to some social countries and realizing that despite the global economic meltdown, some of those countries are actually doing better than America. At least they can afford to insure their poor people, something I doubt will ever be possible in this country, thanks to Joe the plumber and his generation of idiots.

  10. Lostbutterfly says:

I think America has lot’s of good things going on, we still are a world power and we have more people in some states here then they do in some country’s. America, were poor uneducated people have a shot at the freedom and money that they didn’t have in their country’s. But Clinton’s trade agreement with China is the main reason for poverty and job losses in this country, there’s a 60/40% trade difrence between us and China, with the 60% comming from China. We have lost 1000’s of jobs in every state in America because of the influx of cheap Chinese product’s into this country. And of course citizen’s our going to lose their homes simply because they won’t have job’s to pay their mortages. Every job in America was important and the more jobs there are here, the more money there will be for everyone. Now China say’s that they only ship us cheap product’s that Amarican’s buy and if Americans STOPED buying cheap shit, then there would be no need for China to import their cheap shit. But I really think the red-dragon is lying and greedy and doesn’t care if it distroy’s the American way of life. And because greedy senator’s in goverment have probably received kick-backs to keep the influx of cheap imports comming into this country. I really doubt that the economy will ever rebound from this recession. We can not afford to keep lossing jobs to the ever increasing influx of cheap Chinese trade because of a stupid trade agreement with China that Clinton created, that is NOT working, and needs to be distroyed and stoped. They say protectionism will be a bad thing for America, but I believe that protectionism might save America from the next great depression if it isen’t too late?

  11. good stuff, colonel. enjoy reading your work.

  12. The Colonel says:

Thank you Jed. Likewise I enjoy reading your comments.

  13. The Colonel says:

Let’s see, Sophia, I ask you one question: what are American soldiers doing in Afghanistan and Iraq anyway; and why are you surprised when the people of those countries fight back and defend themselves against those foreign invaders?

Tell me who’s the victim: the soldiers who gear up and get on the choppers to invade and destroy people’s homes and drop bombs on their schools and hospitals; or opressed people who stand against the invading troops for their right to live in their home, their country and their land? What would you do if a foriegn power was invading your country? What the founding fathers of America did against the British occupation forces? Didn’t they fight back and kill the British soldiers? So how come the founding fathers of America are considered patriot heros, but Afghan and Iraqi people are considered terrorists for doing the same thing?

As for your second comment, I didn’t read it completely. I stopped after reading the first sentence:

‘I think America has lot’s of good things going on, we still are a world power and we have more people in some states here then they do in some countries.’

Well, if you’re going to argue that America has lots of good things going on because of it’s large population, then I can argue China and India have better things going on, because they have a larger population. But let’s just not go there.

  14. jeremiahsteele says:

Hey Colonel, ask her about the Chinese yen.

  15. Lostbutterfly says:

Actually Colonel, the troops are there to fight the terror that terrorist’s inflict on the poor helpless people who have the misfortune of being born there. It is not the people who live in those country’s that are fighting with our troops, the people who are fighting our troop’s are armed thugs who bring terror apon women and children and kill inocent people all the time in those country’s. Indoctoring young children into their group of thugs called the Talliban, spreading lies and hate about diffrent relegions and races, these our not good people of either country, these our terrorists named the Talliban, who have inslaved people with their lies about Islam and Mohomad, especially women and children. I believe that the American troop’s, and the people who live in Irag and Afganastan are both victims of terrorist’s. Why? Because most 18 year old boys, not men, are fighting for honor against terrorist enemy’s that have no honor. And as for some of the victim’s that live in Irag and Afganastan, they’ve just become unlucky pawn’s in an unwinable war. As for:”what would I do if I was the one living there?” Well, I’d do what all the other good people who live in those countrys who aren’t terrorist’s do, I’d mind my own biz and pray that I don’t get shot by a stray bullet or blown up by a suicide bomber. American history was not my best subject in college, but comparring the Talliban millitant terrorist’s to the American resistance against the Brits, is like comparring apples and Oranges. Enslaving people with religion and killing women over laws written a million years ago, pluss blowing people up as a service to god, and fighting against Americans because they’re considered unclean and should be killed for being in your land, is a lot diffrent then fighting to win your freedom from the mother land you originally came from. One is fighting to keep the people inslaved through control, by ussing religion, and the other was fighting to win their freedom so everyone who lived there could be free from taxation without representation… American resistance forces and Taliban Militant terrorists are not the same, and to say so is an insult to our founding fathers and every American soldier that has ever fought in any war, fighting to keep our land free from religious and racial abuse is difrent then bringing terror on inocent people threw religion to keep them under control. The resistance fighter’s went after the soldiers, they did not murder women and children because of religious believes and laws, they unlike the Taliban had somthing called honor. And America’s a great Nation and you should thank your lucky stars you had the luck to be born here in a nation were you don’t have to worry about goverment backed thugs killing you over race or religion!

  16. The Colonel says:

That’s right, the Chinese yen. I almost forgot.

  17. I’m a proponent that since 90% of American’s are dumb asses it’s makes it easy for the other 10% to succeed. I’ve been to some countries where it’s the other way around and the competition is so fierce it’s incredibly hard to succeed. So, anybody in America that wants to undumbass themselves should have it made. For example: go to an inexpensive college and just get a bachelor’s degree with a 3.0 GPA. Then, get a job and do it well. Don’t fuck you life up and save your money for a few years. See, it’s so fucking easy and 90% of American’s fuck this up.

  18. The Colonel says:

It’s so generous to consider %10 of Americans are smart, I think it’s less than that. In any case, I believe it no longer matters what you do, how hard you work, what college degree you achieve, etc. It all would have mattered 30 years ago; not anymore.

We’re living in times and in a country where everything has became corporated, from the food you consume to the news you listen to the movies you watch to the medicine you take, everything is corporated. All the money power is in the hands of %1 of population which consists of greedy CEOs, sleazy Wall Street brokers and corrupt politicians. The poor gets crushed and the rich gets fatter. So if you look at it from that aspect, America today is no longer a free society where people are being rewarded for their hard work and integrity. America today is a class society, similar to the ancient empires in which people were born either in a royal family or in a poor family, they either had it all or they had nothing at all. Humans were defined by their bloodlines rather than their human characteristics. American capitalism eventually fell into the same trap that every capitalist society has ever falen into; and I don’t see any way out of this trap. This is it, folks, this is the end of the line.

  19. The Colonel says:

    Sophia says:

‘Actually Colonel, the troops are there to fight the terror that terrorists inflict on the poor helpless people who have the misfortune of being born there.’

Actually honey, I think you’re watching too much Fox news. Go do some independent research and come back when you have something more credible to say. Don’t get me wrong, you’ve got good intentions, but good intentions won’t help as long as you’re misinformed.

  20. jeremiahsteele says:

    ……..
Let’s liberate countries by bombing them, their schools, libraries (where students have learned English in a desperate attempt to communicate with us) and water supplies, loot their museums and impose sanctions so that the innocent can’t get basic medical provisions. With friends like US who needs enemies? Btw, I heard Greenland might be making some nuclear weapons. Let’s bomb them. We’re the good guys. Rah rah. God loves us.

I was at the 7-11 and some guy said to the Indian cashier there’s a spill in front of the Slurpee machine and he should use is towel on his head to clean it.

    Damn Americans.

  21. The Colonel says:

‘Here’s why America goes to war: America has the small dick syndrome, that’s why. What, they’ve got bigger dicks? Let’s bomb them.’

    – George Carlin

  22. Great post Colonel, we had our own 9/11 in Madrid, Spain, we called it 11-M http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2004_Madrid_train_bombings 191 killed people for the Arab terrorism, but Why? A Spanish president called Mr. Aznar decided supporting the Iraqi adventure joined to Mr. Blair too, the result so easy…191 innocent people killed in the Atocha station in Madrid. What happens in Iraq now? Iraq is a devastated and divided country with any future now. We still have a bunch of soldiers in Afghanistan suffering the consequences of the Mr. Bush’s megalomania, I know you are talking about man….In Europe we can heard that many citizens thinks like you, About the choice of the Marines overseas…you talked about it in your post yet…Is their own decision and they like being invaders, Did you see Generation Kill from the HBO? Check it please 😉 Is the real true anyway me and the rest of the Spanish needs that our Government brings our boys back home soon 😉 This is not our business.

Keep on posting more often post like this Colonel 😉

  23. jeremiahsteele says:

Some amazing and impossible coincidences: 9/11, 3/11 (or 11-M as it’s known in Spain) and London all had “terror drills” going on at the same time and place that the terror events occurred. So the lesson here is if you ever see gov’t dudes running around doing “exercises” get the fuck away as fast as possible!

  24. Harvey Dent says:

I love the self loathing of leftist. Is always our fault. The Muslims are innocent.

Pepe, I have seen the future of Europe, and it wears a Burka.

  25. Harvey Dent says:

Saldy with the Taliban winning and Pakistan a few literal heart beats of being a nuclear armed Islamic fundamentalist country, the war in Afghanistan has to go on, and on and on.

Of course the solution is to arm India to the teeth, but that will unnerve the Chinese.

  26. Lostbutterfly says:

Dear Colonel I did do independent research. There is one real solution the U.N needs to come up with a police force to capture the terrorist thugs. They are no diffrent then the gangs of LA, except they have the backing of their corupt government. But the U.N has never really inforced anything, maybe except the pocket books of the people who work for the U.N. Yes, I have already written about this a year and a half ago. My father is a Republican, and I did read the lefts and the rights stance on this subject. The problem with terrorism, it’s not somthing that most people who live in those countrys suport. Please people, think of the victims on both sides of this issue. The soldiers who come back without arms or legs and the ones who come back in body bags, 20 soldier’s a month are being killed, and the people who are killed by falling bomb’s. There are no “real winners” as long as TERRORIST’S keep planting bomb’s, that not only kill our soldiers but more often then not, kill their own people. If it wasn’t for Bush and Obama we’d have those assholes here, blowing up our loved ones and friends. Extream lefty’s suck, it’s always the Republicans faults or America’s fault. It’s never the terrorist faults or the people who suport terorism. Why? To me these lefty’s are whimp’s, who never EVER realize how stupid they look, suporting people who kill people over religion and race! I quess these same people would have felt bad for the Nazi’s family’s, if lefty’s would have existed back then. (What’s the diffrence between Nazi’s and terrorist’s?) Extrem Lefty’s make me sick! It’s not America’s fault that 9/11 happened, Alkida was backed by South Araibia, and what the terrorists did to us, was no diffrent then what the Japanese did to us in World War II, with the only diffrence being “NO ONE” felt sorry for dropping bombs on Japan after the attack. We are the only society to date that doesn’t suport our troops durring war time, and that’s the main reason why I think America sucks. Because real FREEDOM is not free and is somthing that people need to constantly safegard.

  27. Lostbutterfly says:

Please Colonel take a political science class and a logic class and then tell me how goverment sucks. They are doing the best they can, considering how Clinton screwed us with his stupid trade agreement. And how greedy bankers gave out loans knowing people couldn’t afford them. And also considering the collapse of the financial system and wall street. Pluss with two Wars going on. Come on give the goverment a BREAK!

  28. The Colonel says:

Thank you Pepe. The buttom line is that the elite, the leaders of the so called westen democratic countries keep bringing animosity, bloodshed, hatred and terror on their own people. You can’t invade other countries to capture their land and possess their oilfields and enslave and kill their people and expect them to stay humble and obedient. Maybe you can fool some of them by giving them chocolate candies and pop music CDs and American trash movies; but the rest, those with a shred of dignity will strike back to kill you or be killed. You don’t want them in your home land, stay away from theirs. If you go there, they will either kill you to defend their rights or will bring the chaos to your home land and give you a taste of your own medicine. What’s fair is fair.

As for the invaders, they’re being recruited in the most bankrupt, poor, gang infected neighborhoods of American cities. They have no job, no proper education, no future and above all no sense of right and wrong. Some of them eventually will realize what they have done and can’t live with themselves any longer. That explains why suicide rate among the American soldiers is skyrocketing: in their moment of clarity, they see the ugliness of their unjustifiable, unforgiveable actions and can’t stand it, hence they kill themselves. HBO’s Generation Kill was superb in depicting the day to day reality of these guns for hire; but it was brief and often too cautious in dealing with it’s controversial subject matter. Still a good show though, regardless of it’s flaws.

  29. The Colonel says:

Dear Sophia, if you think the American system is doing fine, write an article on your blog and prove that to anybody who cares to read it. If you do a good enough job, maybe Rush Limbaugh notices you and picks you up as his rodeo. I on the other hand, have better things to do than debating with you. Good luck, darling.

  30. jeremiahsteele Says:

Some amazing and impossible coincidences: 9/11, 3/11 (or 11-M as it’s known in Spain) and London all had “terror drills” going on at the same time and place that the terror events occurred

jeremiahsteele no incredible coincidences…. this was the Punish that the Allied received for joining to the Bush crusade against Islamic Terrorism. Spanish paid the blood’s tribute for being in the Azores pic (Bush, Blair, Aznar)
I really hate Islamic fundamentalism, The South of Spain is the gate to Europe to all the terrorists who live in the North of Africa, I am agree with the USA government did about what happened in the World Trade centre. This massacre should be revenged for giving peace to all the poor people who died that day but in that revenge not only was the vengeance, Mr.Bush wanted the control of the zone and of course the oil, now the troops are leaving Iraq and what happened??? A devastated country plenty of innocent people inside of a chaotic land without any capable government, and yes a land plenty of fucking Islamic terrorists as well. This is a very complicated issue. First the government of USA gives guns to Afghanistan for wining the war against Russians then Afghanistan became the Osama nest, the same happened with Saddam in Iraq for stopping Iran, the Ayatollah’s country. This is a fucking mess that I really don’t know who is really guilty I only know that unfortunately we tasted the same punish that you sadly had the 9/11 and that’s why I hate the fucking Islamic Terrorism. But we played with fire and we suffered the consequences.

    Harvey:

Take a walk for the streets of Madrid, go to my neighbourhood and really near I live you can see a lot of Muslims wearing djellaba…still not Burkas but I will tell you that the Spanish police arrested, judged and condemned to the main authors of the massacre of Atocha Station with 191 people killed in the trains for the Osama’s boys bombs.

Sadly The gate still open in the North of Africa to Europe….

  31. Third Axis says:

Oh man, Sophia/Jade weighing in on the United Nations. Now, that’s a hoot! Darlin’, the UN is and has been the most ineffective international “peace keeping” organization ever devised; a sad joke and waste of billions of dollars over the decades. And you claiming a grasp of political science and logic…!

    HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
    (Is that sufficiently derisive laughter?)

  32. Third Axis says:

    What’s “Alkida,” an antacid?

  33. Pornodudestud says:

Colonel another good article!! We as a nation are on the way out!!! Please turn those lights out and GRAB the flag on the way out!!! Oh by the way the girls out here in Florida say hello and see you real soon!!! How about Colonel doing a atricle” THE STATE OF THE ADULT INDUSTRY IN THE VALLEY” THE WOULD BE A GOOD ONE!!!

  34. Lostbutterfly says:

Third of Ass, I quess waisting millions on our millitary being in BFE is beter then having a world police system. Ha on you, for being an uneducated idiot… You would know that that’s what America wanted to do if you could read past a first grade level. And the only reason it won’t work is because the EU is a bunch of deadbeats and the U.N can’t enforce anything.

  35. jeremiahsteele says:

No coincidences RockPepe but you still don’t get it. We’re not talking about blowback here….

  36. Harvey Dent says:

Germy, where did you get the terror drill stuff.

I found hard to believe that since I was talking on the web with a London police woman the day of the London bombing and they were as unaware as most people. And she works with the Special Branch.

About Madrid, the Spanish did exactly what OBL wanted, they voted out the PP that good or bad was putting Spain in the map again and elected Zapatero “the accidental president aka Mr Bean”.

Of course the PP has lots to blame because they tried to blame ETA. But I have always though that the Madrid bombings and the PSOE electoral victory has something to do with the French Great Orient freemasonery. Spain as France little bitch. After the PSOE broke the new alliance of Spain with the US and the UK, Spain became again France´s little bitch. And the role of Spain across the ocean and in the world has shrunk into a joke. I often wonder if they PP was actually missinformed about the origin of the authors of the bombings by Gran Oriente masons in the police on purpose, to get the PSOE in power. ZP is a Gran Oriente (french based great lodge) mason. Azanar was a Opus Dei member. Gran Oriente (French) masons and Opus Dei do not mix well. Scottish (English)mason and Opus Dei do mix better as witness in the US Republican Party (FBI heads and Supreme Court nominations) and in Brittish goverment (Tony Blair has several Opus Dei Members in the cabinet).

About London it was “ALQUAIDA”, but AlQuada as a muslim fudamentalist state of mind, not as a real organization.

  37. Lostbutterfly says:

P.S. third of ass: the top millitary people thought out that idea which would work a hell of a lot beter then having the military policing Iraq and Afganastan. DA! But thanks for giving me so much credit.

  38. jeremiahsteele Says:

No coincidences RockPepe but you still don’t get it. We’re not talking about blowback here…

You are talking about getting away as fast as possible, the same I was thinking 😉

  39. Harvey:

About Madrid, the Spanish did exactly what OBL wanted, they voted out the PP that good or bad was putting Spain in the map again and elected Zapatero “the accidental president aka Mr Bean”.

Come to Spain and tell this to all the people, everybody will tell you YES!! You are right. The OBL bombs did win Zapatero aka Mr. Bean the elections, and the worse thing is I was one of that crazy people….

  40. Colonel:

As for the invaders, they’re being recruited in the most bankrupt, poor, gang infected neighborhoods of American cities. They have no job, no proper education, no future and above all no sense of right and wrong.

And they are the paradigm of peace and honour, defenders of the faith and freedom …crazy world 🙁

  41. jeremiahsteele says:

There is a video of a guy from FEMA talking about being a ground zero the night before 9/11 doing “terror drills”. If necessary I can find the link but do the homework.

The same time, the same place? The probability of a coincidence is in the billions.

Meanwhile, Cheney was leading War Games exercises on 9/11 (“Vigilant Guardian”, etc.), sending out Jet fighters everywhere. This is supposed to be an excuse of why jet fighters weren’t prepared for a real attack. At least five or six training exercises were in operation in the days leading up to and on the morning of 9/11. This meant that NORAD radar screens showed as many as 22 hijacked airliners at the same time. The CIA was conducting drills of flying hijacked planes into the WTC and Pentagon at 8:30 in the morning.

There is a BBC radio interview regarding the London 7/7 bombing:

    Here’s part of the transcript.

(Peter Power was a former Scotland Yard official, working at one time with the Anti Terrorist Branch) POWER: “At half past nine this morning we were actually running an exercise for a company of over a thousand people in London based on simultaneous bombs going off precisely at the railway stations where it happened this morning, so I still have the hairs on the back of my neck standing up right now.”

HOST: “To get this quite straight, you were running an exercise to see how you would cope with this and it happened while you were running the exercise?”

POWER: “Precisely, and it was about half past nine this morning, we planned this for a company and for obvious reasons I don’t want to reveal their name but they’re listening and they’ll know it. And we had a room full of crisis managers for the first time they’d met and so within five minutes we made a pretty rapid decision that this is the real one and so we went through the correct drills of activating crisis management procedures to jump from slow time to quick time thinking and so on.”

The same time, the same place. The probability of coincidence is in the billions.

The London bombings have the same signature as the Madrid bombings of 3/11. The bombers were found to be police informants with close links to the Spanish security services. They had access to the most secure areas of the Madrid train system. The Spanish government initially tried to blame the Basque group ETA for the blast in the hope that the people would rally behind the government and get them re-elected. After ETA denied involvement and the people started saying the government was involved, the Spanish government had to blame Al-Qaeda and kill some patsies by claiming they blew themselves up during a raid.

The London Underground exercises were used as the fallback cover to carry out the attack. This is the biggest smoking gun yet pointing directly to the most secretive levels of the British establishment itself being behind the attack.

  42. Third Axis says:

Sorry, Sophia/Jade, but I wasn’t giving you any credit. From your response, you obviously know nothing of the creation and administration of the useless U.N. Try doing more reading and less tweeting, honey bunch.

  43. Lostbutterfly says:

Yes, third peace of retarted ass, I do know why they created the U.N so the same types of crimes that hapened to the European Jew’s would never happen to anyone else. The U.N has been a dismal failure. Next insult, you should ask someone if they know why the U.N was created before you asume shit! Asumptions make an ass out of you and me…

  44. sammyglick says:

Obviously, I respect The Colonel and his opinions (or else, I’d be reading some other blog about the nuttiness to be found in Porn Valley). Yet I have to say, that I’m not quite sure what the main theme of his argument is in this one.

Maybe it’s because there’s so much of the usual 9/11 fueled paranoia in the comments section, it’s as if no one read the original article and in formulating responses…just went into their own deep well of general ‘anger & distrust’ against government in response to poor choices made in their own lives.

Following some of the logic of the comments, it’s as if many are suggesting that if we’d only had the foresight to do away with the Constitution (ironic considering how many of these Right Wing zealots interrupting Town Hall meetings and marching on DC over the weekend, constantly cry about how said document not being followed to the letter is the reason why things are the way they are), and elected Ronald Reagan to more terms than FDR, abortion made illegal in all cases, blacks/women/minorities regulated to second-hand status, we’d all be sitting fat and pretty right now — free from the world’s troubles, able to buy all sorts of things from outrageous health care premiums by private insurance companies, to an iPod for every day of the week.

The logic of extremely limited government and absolute military force continued, there would be no UN to ‘meddle’, or IRS to ‘take’ your money. The very young and very old would be forced to fend for themselves (as the ‘founders’ apparently did so out of necessity — so why should hundreds of years of technological progress change anything) and every nation that even looked at us the wrong way would be on the receiving end of a Tomahawk missiles. Under said logic, we’d all have jobs that paid upwards of $500K a year, and that would allow us to live our lives however we wanted…fuck pesky laws that would forbid lying, cheating and stealing from others in anyway shape or form. Those who complain are just the ‘weakest members’ of humanity and need to be weeded out — so good riddance to them!

It’ll be a dull world when those on the extremes and fringe of life, wake up one day…with no one to rail against and blame for their fuck-ups in life because the world has been forced into their image. One that has ‘one media’ that reflects their warped views and opinions. One that has no government that gives a damn about ANYONE in society (because a small, but vocal fraction of society, didn’t want to be bothered by government). One that is ruled by fear and conflict, instead of optimism and harmony.

  45. jeremiahsteele says:

“third of ass”, “waisting millions”, “beter”, “extream” “inforced”, “Alkida was backed by South Araibia”, “if you could read past a first grade level”, as usual, good entertainment here, although i’d bet all my chinese yen that lostsophia’s 3.7 g.p.a. is another lie

some people just love to argue and not learn anything, not even rudimentary English, let alone arrive at facts before researching a subject from more than one point of view

again looking at video footage of wtc building 7 coming down says it all, it puts to rest all stupid Osama or “Alkida” or “leftist wimps” causing 9/11 theories to rest quicker than the speed of the building’s collapse.. but that would require putting one’s ego and previous conclusions aside, and that perhaps is too much for too many people to palate, and not just the worst and most retarded of us.

  46. Third Axis says:

You do give me a good chuckle, Sophia/Jade (which one are you today, Sybil?). First-grade reading level, you say? I’ve raised three children, and all of them, at the first-grade level, could spell far better than you.

I have two words for you: Learning Annex.
    “That’s the number 2, ah-ah” -The Count

  47. jeremiahsteele says:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6mxFRigYD3s

Here’s a funny video of the BBC telling us the WTC 7 has collapsed when it hadn’t yet! You can see the building still standing in the background as the reporter is talking about it’s collapse. The end of this clip has additional clips of WTC 7 collapsing.

There are also videos out there of firefighters talking about how it’s about to come down. Word was out about it even though it wasn’t hit by anything and had two small internal fires, mysteriously set and not put out because for some reason the fire sprinkler system was not working.

The BBC got confused and got the message that it already came down when in fact the word was out that it was about to come down.

WTC 7 was furthest away from the towers, protected and behind WTC 5 and 6 which got trashed from the falling towers, yet those buildings still stood and no one talked about them collapsing. WTC 7 was in pristine external shape when it was brought down.

So everyone shut the fuck up about Osama, Saddam, “Leftist wimps” and “Alkida”.

  48. The Colonel says:

Right on, Stud, you give it to those sun shine state sluts. Stick it where the sun don’t shine.

  49. The Colonel says:

    Sammy Glick says:

‘I’m not quite sure what the main theme of The Colonel’s argument is in this one.’

The respect is mutual, Sammy, and I enjoy reading your writings. As to the main theme of my argument here: I believe the American people are screwed. Period. I believe there are forces in work, a government within the government that has been running this country since day one, they were pushing an agenda far beyond ‘the American dreams’ and ‘Liberty and Justice for All’. They were after the global domination and establishing a new world order. Their vicious plans entered a critical stage when they executed 9/11 tragedy and blamed it on Al Qaeda network, run by Osama Bin Laden, Saudi Arabian millionaire and one of the CIA’a allies during the Soviet Afghanistan war. 9/11 gave them the perfect excuse to wage war on Afghanistan and invade Iraq, all parts of a plan to dominate the Middle East region and hence the biggest oilfields of the world.

There was a time when people used to believe the earth is flat, that sun revolves around the earth and that dinosaurs co-existed with men some 5000 years ago. Today we laugh at those beliefs. Consequently, believing that 9/11 was a terrorist attack and believing that America’s presence in the Middle East is for fighting terror and establishing peace and harmony is as naive, ridiculous and short sighted as believing that the earth is flat, the earth is the center of the universe, etc. There are many mysteries surrounding the human history, but 9/11 tragedy and the forces behind it is not one of those mysteries. Maybe American people wake up and save what’s left from their freedom and their civilization, maybe they don’t. Either way, I’ve become insensitive, and that’s not such a bad thing after all.

  50. Third Axis says:

    Sophia/Jade/Your Name Here:

    “… peace of retarted ass…” …?

I’m surprised you can even spell “UN” let alone understand the UN Charter. Stick with ass sex. It won’t make your brain hurt so bad.

  51. Third Axis says:

BTW, go back to the library, brainiac. The UN was not established because of “crimes against the European Jews.” Sorry to disappoint you, but the Jews weren’t at the center of this one.

  52. The Colonel says:

The U.N was established because of crimes against the European Jews who refused to pay their taxes in Chinese yen. Now that’s what I call history.

Third Axis brother, looks like you and I need a few beers.

  53. Lostbutterfly says:

I’m not on the right or left! I’m tired of seeing my country fighting amongst itself over everything. I’m tired of hearing how people who have had great lifes dis America, our Presidents, our society. I’m tired of lefty inviromentalists always talking about the weather and furry creatures. Our soldiers are dying! Maybe your friends or mine, 18, 19, 20-27 year old guys everyday and all I ever hear at least on this site is how we’re “invaders stomping out those poor inocent terrorist’s.” You idiot’s call me crazy? Why? I’m not the one feeling sorry for assholes who are killing my brothers. Their risking their lifes, to protect your’s and your FREEDOMS and all you do is bash them. You guy’s are realy disrespectful to our guys, who had the balls to fight a war that you didn’t and the very least you traders could do is suport our troops. Regardless if you fucking think it’s a right or wrong war, their dying as you write your ultra offensive posts. Man up and give them a litle credit for living and dying for what they believed in. It’s the very least you could do.

  54. LifesACuntSoFuckIt says:

    Hi Sophia,

Why do you say you’re not on the right or left and then say you’re “tired of lefty inviromentalists talking about the weather and furry creatures”?

    Not bright, but funny.

It’s always right-wingers who want to save unborn babies in our country while bombing men, women, children and babies in other peoples’ countries.

How does attacking another country = protecting our freedoms? Did they attack us first?

I respect the fact that young soldiers are willing to fight and die for our country. That’s very noble but it’s not our country. It’s been bought and sold. That’s why corporations set up shops oversees with slave labor.

In fact America is a corporation. If you interview the soldiers out and about a lot of them will say that the official reason for them being there is a bunch of bullshit.

I care for the troops, that’s why I’d like to see them get the fuck out of there.

Obama is no hero of mine, either. He’s escalating the killings in Afghanistan. It looks like he’s just another puppet President.

  55. artwilliams says:

The British have tried to colonize Afghanistan twice and the Soviets once. Neither succeeded. There is no reason to believe that the U.S. and it partners will do any better.

Afghanistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan all have huge natural gas and oil reserves. To get it to market you have to build a pipeline through Afghanistan. Control the country and you control the pipeline. Draw your own conclusions.

  56. Lostbutterfly says:

Ya, but the diffrence between the Brits and the Soviets, hopefully their own people wern’t bashing the people who have and are were killed and lossing arms and legs and becoming wheel chair bound for life. Why not wait till after the war to write offensive shit? And most of the coward bastards who write this shit, are the same type of guys who are man enough to beat there kids and wifes. I know lots of the guys who are in Iraq, there 18-19-year-old kid’s and they didn’t deserve to die. But because they are dying, to protect our values and freedoms, we owe it to those young guys who never had a chance to live the life that we have, to honor them by not dissing them and their sacrifices, so that their death’s wern’t in vain. Can you understand that?

  57. The Colonel says:

As usual Art, you’re spot on. Only if Sophia could comprehend this, as many as other facts, in her little head.

And Sophia, I don’t think you’re left, I don’t think you’re right and I don’t know if you’re crazy or not, at least straight jacket crazy that is, even though you obviously have mental problems. But I just think you’re an idiot. You’re trying to gain some credentials by debating serious issues, but since you have no clue what you’re talking about and you’re not exactly a brilliant writer either, every time you hit the keyboard buttons instead of gaining any credentials whatsoever you ened up making a bigger fool of yourself. You can’t be a lazy, uneducated fuck and expect people to take you seriously. You can’t have your cake and eat it, too. Do your home work or stop writing idiotic, misinformed, off the wall opinions in broken English. Put up or shut up.

  58. Third Axis says:

It makes me shake my head in wonder when my fellow Americans buy into the “freedom at all costs” propaganda that our political/religious/corporate leaders spoon feed the public. The occasional terrorist attack, even one on the scale of 9/11, doesn’t threaten to take away your freedom. Do you seriously believe that fundamentalist Muslims from Iran, Syria, or Iraq, or the Taliban in Afghanistan are going to somehow enslave Americans? If you expect freedom from attack, and complete safety within our borders, then wake up. Those days are gone now that we’ve enflamed a worldwide jihad through our own imperialist actions in our quest for “oil at all costs.” America brought all this on itself, and freedom has nothing to do with it. To justify our actions with lofty, heroic rhetoric is disingenuous and hypocritical.

The good men and women of our armed services are dying—or returning home shattered either physically, emotionally, or both—only because they are doing what they are told to do. That is their job as soldiers; soldiers don’t question the mission, they just obey the order. The responsibility, and blame, lies with the leaders who send them into harm’s way for less than honorable reasons. The two Gulf wars, and the current actions in Afghanistan have nothing in common with WWII, or even the Korean War (but much similarity to Vietnam – a military action with ulterior motives). America no longer fights for its “freedom,” but for the control of resources, global strategic position, and the maintenance of its waning super-power status. America is an empire in decline, facing sweeping changes in global population dynamics and other forces well beyond its control.

  59. Harvey Dent says:

Even if I do not buy into 9/11 conspiracy theories for several reasons, I do fully agree with this:

“The occasional terrorist attack, even one on the scale of 9/11, doesn’t threaten to take away your freedom. To justify our actions with lofty, heroic rhetoric is disingenuous and hypocritical.”

Yep, OBL, AlQuaida were reactions to US postcolonial involvement in the Middle East, they were in the US because the US is there. OBL is a US creation, maybe not in the direct way conspiracy theorist say but in a indirect way, but a US creation never the less.

That is one of the things I do like of Ron Paul among the Reeps and Dennis K among the Dems, they know that the best course for the US is insolationism. Yes, the US shall go fishing, vacation, let Europe, the UN and Asia fend for themeselves.

Democracy and Imperial Politics are incompatible, that is a reason of old Rome the new Rome, the US shall learn.

  60. The Colonel says:

Right on, Third Axis. You sum it up eloquently.

America is indeed a declining empire, broken, disgraced and on life support. I strongly believe in 10 years from now we’re gonna hit absolute rock bottom.

Our population is growing out of control, our natural resources are drying up, dollar value is in the gutter, manufacturing companies are going bankrupt, both Social Security and Medicare will be insolvent by around 2016, budget deficit is skyrocketing, military is so desperate and stretched out they’re recruiting 40 something year old ex-cons, we have no respect among other nations, Europeans mock us, Muslims hate us, Chinese own us. The future of America is so bleak, so dark and so grim it’s disturbing to even think about it; and as I said earlier, we’re not talking about 100 years in the future, we’re talking about the next 10 years or so.

    Chris Carter once said:
‘You don’t need monsters jumping out of the shadows to get a sense of darkness. You take away hope, you take away trust, you take away faith; and that’s the real darkness. ‘
Well, this is it then, this is the real darkness, infecting America like a lethal poison, devouring our freedom, our culture, our civilization, everything. To be hopeful and optimistic through this final crisis, one must be a fool with head shoved up the ass or high on some strong anti-depressant drug or both. Give it up, folks, the show’s over. I’d like to end this note by quoting Leonard Cohen:

‘Everybody knows that the war is over
Everybody knows the good guys lost
Everybody knows the fight was fixed
The poor stay poor, the rich get rich
    That’s how it goes
    Everybody knows’

  61. The Colonel says:

    Harvey Dent says:

‘Democracy and Imperial Politics are incompatible, that is a lesson of old Rome the new Rome, the U.S, shall learn.’

Well said, Harvey. But I’m afraid it’s too late for learning lessons. The damage is done.

  62. LifesACuntSoFuckIt says:

Sophia, no one is dissing soldiers. Some of us want to keep any more of them from being killed and maimed. I think this sentiment shows a lot more respect for soldiers than those who sent them there in the first place for dubious reasons.

You wrote: “Why not wait till after the war to write offensive shit?” This statement makes no sense.

Also the war doesn’t look to ever be ending. We’ve wrecked our own country through greed and it’s the same greed which sends soldiers out to other countries so corporations can usurp their natural resources.

You wrote: “And most of the coward bastards who write this shit, are the same type of guys who are man enough to beat there kids and wifes”

You have serious mental problems, Sophia. Because some people oppose the U.S. having attacked other countries like Iraq which never attacked us means that we beat kids and “wifes”?

  63. artwilliams says:

Lostbuterfly: I know lots of the guys who are in Iraq, there 18-19-year-old kid’s and they didn’t deserve to die. But because they are dying, to protect our values and freedoms, we owe it to those young guys who never had a chance to live the life that we have, to honor them by not dissing them and their sacrifices, so that their death’s wern’t in vain. Can you understand that?

    — Plain and simple, saying a war is wrong is not the same thing as saying the solders are wrong. I don’t support the Afghan war but I do support our troops. I am Canadian. We have troops there too.

The Colonel: America is indeed a declining empire, broken, disgraced and on life support. I strongly believe in 10 years from now we’re gonna hit absolute rock bottom.

    — The British went in a downward spiral for 70 years! The Empire declined from War I onward and, IMHO, hit rock bottom in the 1970s with income tax rates of 70%+ and the closing of most British industries [auto, coal, textiles, etc]. Okay, maybe in terms of international influence they hit bottom during the 1956 Suez Crisis, but it could be argued that they skidded for a couple of decades after than.

Unless, major changes are made I think the U.S. has a long, long way to go. Your deficit starts to go exponential in 2013 when Medicare and Social Security benefits start to kick in for babyboomers. I am writing these numbers from memory but I think that by 2018 another trillon dollars a year is added to the deficit just for the social programs I mentioned!

I think the U.S. spiral actually started in the 1960s and the Vietnam Nam war. It was then when corporations perfected the manipulation of federal politicians to support their profits. Watergate was the warning sign which sadly was ignored.

“In the councils of government, we must guard against the acquisition of unwarranted influence, whether sought or unsought, by the military industrial complex. The potential for the disastrous rise of misplaced power exists and will persist.” President Dwight D. Eisenhower, 1961

That is the best quote I know to sum up this blog post. It is China’s and India’s time now. Gawd help us all.

  64. Harvey Dent says:

“Unless, major changes are made I think the U.S. has a long, long way to go. Your deficit starts to go exponential in 2013 when Medicare and Social Security benefits start to kick in for babyboomers. “I am writing these numbers from memory but I think that by 2018 another trillon dollars a year is added to the deficit just for the social programs I mentioned!”

Alan Greenspan predict strong inflation will hit the US around 2012. Stigliz predicts that the actual “recovery” is the prelude to an even stronger recession, despite the fact that the Obamaites are saying the Messiah saved the world for another depression.
    Their predictions match. 2012.

“I think the U.S. spiral actually started in the 1960s and the Vietnam Nam war. It was then when corporations perfected the manipulation of federal politicians to support their profits.”

But so did special interst groups, the biggest bombs in the US economy do not come for the militar industrial complex, yes its bad enough, they come from entitlements, Medicare and Social Security, and now Obama wants another one, Universal Health Care.
The fact is that the Welfare State and the Warfare State are two sides of the same coin.

Teddy Roosevelt and the Spanish war, FDR New Deal and WWII, who was a lofty war in Europe but actually a war between empires in the Pacific and people tends to forget that. Also there is plenty of evidence the FDR administration ignored the warnings about the incoming attack at Pearl Harbor on purpose. Truman and Eisenhower Cold War put the New Deal on stone and cemente the military industrial complex. LBJ Great Society was married to the Vietnam war.
Bush “compasionate conservativism” gave us Irak and Afganistan and even more Medicare and until Obama, record deficits.
Every expansion of the US state internaly has a external war as a sign of outward expansion.
The only hope is the colapse of the US Federal Goverment.

  65. Harvey Dent says:

Addict often need to hit rock botton before changing. So is the US.

  66. The Colonel says:

    Art Williams says:

‘I think the U.S. spiral actually started in the 1960s and the Vietnam war.’

True, Vietnam war was the beginning of the end. There was a short period of semi-prosperity in America between the end of World War II and the beginning of Vietnam war, the war that brought the U.S economy to it’s kness, claimed thousands lives and shattered every and all human and moral values.

We’ve been living the aftermath of Vietnam war ever since, and now we’re entering a critical phase in our history: the final crisis, the ultimate collapse of a system that’s been long broken beyond repair. Life may go on after all is lost, and that’s the real tragedy, life goes on after all hope, trust and faith is destroyed. It’s dreadful to imagine the future of America and how dark it would be. But then again, American people brought this darkness upon themselves, their actions are haunting them and will continue to haunt them to the bitter end.

  67. The Colonel says:

    Harvey Dent says:

‘Addicts often need to hit rock botton before changing, so does the U.S.’

More often when addicts hit the rock bottom, they overdose and die in their misery, they don’t necessarily recover. In this case, I don’t see how and through what miracle America can recover. Optimism is a good thing as long as there’s rational evidence to support it, and here I see no shred of rational eveidence to support any kind of optimism whatsoever.

  68. Third Axis says:

Thanks, Art. Eisenhower’s prescient “beware the military-industrial complex” speech was as accurate as anything ever uttered by any political leader. As a WWII general, who went on to public service, Dwight D. had the ability to see events from a broad perspective.

“Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it.”
    -George Santayana (1905)

  69. The Colonel says:

‘In the various states of society, armies are recruited from very different motives. Barbarians are urged by the love of war; the citizens of a free republic may be prompted by a principle of duty; the subjects, or at least the nobles, of a monarchy, are animated by a sentiment of honor; but the timid and luxurious inhabitants of a declining empire must be allured into the service by the hopes of profit, or compelled by the dread of punishment.’

    – From ‘The History of the Decline and Fall of the Roman Empire’ by Edward Gibbon

  70. Harvey Dent says:

Well, the US military is both, soldiers are either for duty or to escape the Ghettoes and redneck mountain towns (South Park refernce).

Raymond Aron said that the US is both a republic and a empire, and Imperial Republic, and people goes into the army guided by both reasons, republican duty and imperial profit.
Sadly I do think Ron Paul, who gets lots of flack for his insolationist, libertarian ideas is the last republican Republican, the imperialists has taken hold of both parties long ago.
A true Republic shall only be insolationist, like Switzerland is.

But that is good news to porn. Camile Paglia, in Vamps and Tramps liked the openess of the new sexual mores after the 60s to the fact that the us is not a Republic based on religious virtue but a Empire based in the search of cheap pleasure (even soldiers of the Empire fight for profit, for future pleasures).

To the Imperial decadence is good for porn, well, Imperial Rome was lots of sexual fun, unlike those bores of the Republic.
So is Imperial America. All Hail the President!

  71. The Colonel says:

There were lots of carnality, debauchery and prurience in the ancient imperial Rome, but that was before christianity became the official religion and pissed on everything.

As for America, christian superstition is deeply embedded in American culture, so no matter how hard we hit the rock bottom, we will never have the funs that ancient Romans had. There will always be this unseen god dominating the simple minds of stupid Americans, from the cradle to the grave and beyond.
