UPDATE-Megan found my address and wrote to me and is going to ask if I can be put on the media list.
Internext will be happening in a short three weeks. It is held 40 minutes from my house. I’ve been to every one since it’s inception and promo-ed them before, during and after the convention, on my sites and in the Mags I write for.
But this year, Megan@AVN (the e-mail address I have for media) is ignoring me. The first e-mail I sent her, I got a response of Write me back after June 15th. The second e-mail I got no response. The third e-mail I got no response. Do you think they don’t want me to go?
Internext convention will be held at the Beautiful Weston Diplomat Hotel from August 7, 8 & 9. Some events are happening earlier. There are always GREAT workshops & seminars, lots of free booze, wonderful people to network with and parties all night long.
Maybe I’ll see you there, maybe I won’t. Megan? Did you lose my e-mail address? On purpose?
Did you say anything negative here against AVN or Fishbein? Did anyone piss off Fishbein in the comments? You’re becoming hated Cindi!! 😀
If pointing out the facts about the sinking ship that is AVN is to be considered ‘negative’, and if AVN themselves know the depth of mess they’re in but don’t have the balls or dignity to admit that, then so be it. Let’m be pissed off and eat their fucking hearts out. You and I, Cindi, can drink to that.
But on the other hand, I don’t think that’s the case. They know the nature of the beast that is LIB, and nobody could ever say more negative things about them than Luke Ford; and keep this in mind that when Luke Ford was posting disturbing facts about them, unlike now, they were at the top of their game. So I believe not inviting Cindi to AVN Internext as of now is either due to their negligence, or they’re just too broke and are cutting back their budget and inviting less guests. Either way, I’m not surprised, because I know AVN and the shape they’re in.
I say complain and complain loudly on LIB. Start posting stories without mentioning names. Then email them blackmailing them or else you’ll start spilling never before told secrets. Ooooh, send over secrets about Paul to Luke so he can tarnish Paul’s name in the Jewish community. I sent Luke the story of Hirsch having his underage kids on a porn reality show. 😀
FYI…hardly anyone from the Internet side of the biz is going to Internext this year. Last year the numbers were less then half of the previous year…so you can guess that this year will be even worse!
Don’t believe me? Well, just check out GFY, JBM or Adult who’s who’s and the “Who’s going to Internext” threads and you’ll see maybe 10-15 replies. Other webmasters see this and decide not to spend their money if no one is going.
This show has jumped the shark. There is no value (Besides a great vacation) in attending this show anymore.
So why would they be turning away people that would want to go?
They don’t want to give out the free passes. That show was once very relevant and fun. But even in ’06, it had faded in importance and was really a good vacation with other peope who sold porn so you didn’t have to lie about what you did. It was great, the booze was free, and Robin from the original Debbie Does Dallas movie was there and she was wonderful to talk to. She told me to go for and push it hard, because she wished that she had when she was young.
Wouldn’t it be a good idea to keep Cindi on your GOOD side? Seems like she is about to give AVN free publicity, and they want to piss her off? Bad move, lol. She seems so nice most of the time, I don’t want to ruin my view of her and see her mean and mad. Well, maybe I do, lol. Might cause havoc around here and be fun! I”ll bring the donuts and the alcohol!
When I went in ’06, the floor was half empty and not even spreading out the booths could disguise that. AVN disguises the empty floor by replacing in with ‘business suites’. Whatever. Not many webmasters to talk link exchanges with or ideas. Tons of people selling hosting, content, blah, blah. The place was also crawling with cops. Pussycash was a sponsor and had signs everywhere, even the floor with the name on it. That was mortifying because there were outside people with kids and family who came to use the pool on Sat and Sun. They were looking at us like, ‘WTF?’
