Free Porn is killing the industry

I hear this all the time and so do you guys. There has always been free porn per say, as in hardcore trailers from movies, and clips and teasers that are meant to make you buy membership to sites. But supposedly this free porn isn’t the problem.

IT’S THE TUBE SITES! The porn tube sites that allow people to post pirated scenes on for all to see at no charge. THIS is the free porn that is killing the industry.

Some tube sites claim they only post porn that is given to them by the movies companies to build interest in their movies.

Some sites say they only have content gleaned from amateur’s private collections that can’t possibly compete with the big budget, porn star filled movies put out by the major studios.

I’d like your opinions on this subject and anyone who wants to write an essay about it, e-mail it to me, whether you are pro, con or a producer of movies, or a boss at a tube site.  You guys are much more knowledgeble on this subject them I am. ( I don’t spend any time looking for free porn, I have enough DVD’s to last me a life time) TY

  1. It’s not as if anyone got any residuals! I don’t pay for porn and you shouldn’t either! The amateur stuff is fabulous, so is the fetish stuff. I like xvideos.com, xnxx.com, xhamster.com, I could go on!

  2. The Colonel says:

    Ruby says:
‘I don’t pay for porn and you shouldn’t either.’

That statement, coming from a person who still years after leaving the adult industry promotes herself as a porn star in order to get private gigs and phone sex clients and feed her family, is a careless statement at best and double standard at worst. Ruby, maybe you should educate yourself and choose your words more carefully. Let’s just leave it to that.

  3. So you never look at free porn Colonel? Stop being a sanctimonious idiot, fuck yes, I’ll feed my family however I see fit, and just because I didn’t take your offer to come back doesn’t mean I wont ever!

  4. Yep, I don’t pay for it either. There’s just SO MUCH FRICKING FREE STUFF out there that I’ve got no incentive to pay for it.

The shit you porn producers vomit out isn’t worth a penny of my hard earned money.

I can go to a website that features nothing but submissions by men/women/couples that are turned by the fact that millions of people are watching them fuck.

The porn industry is dying and I won’t mourn their passing.

  5. The Colonel says:

Ruby, I could care less about you coming back or not, that’s up to you and whatever dicision you and your husband make to support your family and pay your bills; and no, I don’t watch free porn, but you’re missing the point here. The point is for better or for worse you’re a part of the adult industry, you’re one of us. You’ve been living off porn for longer than you can remember, and maybe, just maybe because of that you should show a little more fucking gratitude. Tell me again who’s the idiot.

  6. Oh youv’e got to be shitting me! Talent is worth about 50 cents per performer, right now I’m not making a lot and again no residuals, fucking gratitude my ass! I love the performers, but the people who make real money from the product could give a shit less about their performers, I enjoyed my work, but if they’re out a couple of bucks so I can watch free porn in my old age, so be it.

  7. The Colonel says:

Ruby, let me remind you that you made a decision to relocate to Ohio and focus on your personal matters, nobody forced you out of the adult industry; but you’re still promoting yourself as an ‘adult star’ and that’s how you’re getting the majority of your private clients. Of course you’re not making any residuals off the scenes you performed in several years ago, you and the rest of the performers, because you are not entitled to. The agreement between a performer and a producer is work for hire agreement, meaning you agree to perform in a certain scene for a one time payment; once you get paid, you’re not entitled to anything beyond that. You don’t get a percentage of the sales as a residual income, because that wasn’t the agreement in the first place, so don’t give me that bullshit.

Look man , no matter how you spin and beat around the bushes, you are a part of the adult industry and make a living off it. Maybe it’s not the living that you wish for, but you’re doing fine, better than many women at the same age and the same level of education as yours, and for that you gotta show some fucking gratitude; unless you think it’s cool and fine to bite the hand that feeds you, and if you really, truely think that way, then I don’t know what to tell you.

  8. I’m not doing privates right now, Just because I’m not active doesn’t mean I’m not an adult star, I think once your in the Hall of Fame, your always a porn star! I think performers should get a residual income, regardless of the way it is now, I don’t regret my career, the buisness could be organized better than it was. As for doing well, I’m in debt up to my eyeballs, and I live with my dad. Those hands haven’t been feeding me for a long time, my hands have.

  9. The Colonel says:

    Ruby says:

‘I’m in debt up to my eyeballs.’

Then maybe you should put those tits and ass to work and let them pay your debts, no? Micky Rourke couldn’t afford a bowl of spaghetti prior to The Wrestler, but look how well he’s doing now: the come back kid, blah, blah, blah.

As for performers getting a residual income, sorry babe, that won’t happen in this life time. You do one scene, get paid, and if you want more money, you gotta come back and bust your ass all over again. It is what it is. Ask John Stagliano if you doubt your beloved, honest nice guy Colonel.

  10. Mickey Rourke is an asshole, and I’m not dead yet! I just like free porn, dumbass.

  11. The Colonel says:

Micky Rourke might or might not be an asshole, but he’s living better than you; and you’re not dead yet, but you’re living in America’s arm pit, support your family by talking dirty to delusional lonely assholes and degenerate fuck ups, and are in debt up to your eyeballs; and what do you do to entertain yourself? You jerk off to 2 minutes promotional teasers, crappy amatuer fuck scenes and stolen content on tube sites. Tell me again who’s the dumbass.

  12. It’s a living, I like Ohio better than LA, and you get more than 2 min asshole!

  13. The Colonel says:

Yeah, sometimes you get 5 minutes; if that floats your boat, then I know all I need to know about you. Have a nice life in Ohi and say hi to your dad for me. I’m sure he’s proud of you.

I’m a good man with a heart of gold, and eventually you too will know the truth. Catch you later.

  14. I can come in 4 minutes.

  15. Why the hate for Ruby all of a sudden? If she wants to call herself a porn star, then she should because she is one. If Nikki Jayne can be the new face of Vivid and hailed as a “superstar” in the adult industry when she hasn’t even done five movies yet, then what’s wrong with Ruby using the porn star title to make herself more money in other fields?

While the pornographers who made their livelihoods off the backs of Ruby and others and are now living it up in Woodland Hills, Ruby is living with her father and is in debt. Pornographers don’t do the real work. The women and men who put their health, privacy, and sanity on the line should be the ones living in big homes, driving green Lamborghinis, and putting Princess & Junior through private school.

The performers are also the ones that have to go through public scrutiny while pornographers can hide behind the camera or board meeting.

  16. Thank you, sometimes I piss people off, I’m used to it. Like with the whole hooker thing.

  17. The Colonel says:

PSB, as usual you’re off base and don’t deserve a response. Take your meds, then go masturbate or play with your cats.

  18. Ruby, have you thought of coming back but behind the scenes? I told someone who was about to lose her home to open her home and rent it out to the new girls so they could have a safe place to stay instead of getting raped in those dorms. Charge rent and keep your home. Many of the girls already saw her as a mother figure and I thought it would be a good idea. I also told her maybe in the future to open an agency to help the new girls and help them start off their careers the right way and which directors/producers/talent to work with and not to sell their names and to set up their websites. You’ll be in the industry but behind the scenes and also helping the new girls do things the right way.

  19. freepornstarpix says:

It hypocritical that Ruby loves free porn, because as former talent she knows the necessary effort to create product that is now being treated like disposable Kleenex. If she had started ClubRuby.com back in the 90s, she’d be singing a different tune if her content was all over the tube sites.

The tube people pirating whole movies are insane, because teaching surfers that porn is free is an unprofitable long term business strategy. Where are these companies going to be in 10 years? They have sucked all the easy money out of the biz.

  20. You think session musicians who get paid as a work for hire on albums care if people pay for that album?

  21. freepornstarpix says:

Session musicians care if people pay for an album they played on, because sales determine if an artist receives another opportunity to make another album. Artists normally use the same session people that played on the prior album, especially one that sold well. Session musicians who played on an album that sold well are frequently hired by other artists to play on their albums. If an artist with good album sales goes on the road, the session musician might be invited to be part of the touring back (a gig which often pays well and comes with perks).

People in the entertainment industry (and I include adult in that) depend on sales to survive, because more sales mean more opportunities to make money.

Have you ever been self employed? No! You don’t know the hardship and what it is like to chase every opportunity in order have a nice life.

  22. That was not the greatest comparison I suppose, we shouldn’t be comparing music to porn anyway. No, I have never been self employed, though I’ve had the opportunity and it was that reason why I didn’t want to do it. I like security. We all make choices we have to live with.

  23. Like it or not the internet changed the nature of the buisness, as for being a hypocrite, some of those movies weren’t that hard to film, some were, and what about people who do it for fun and post it because it turns them on? I would still pay for a good DVD but the free stuff is great too.
