Our Ruby on Politics…

from her myspace blog

Well, it’s election time again, and for some of you, this is an exciting time, for me it’s scary.

Election time is when the local goverment chooses to teach whores a lesson, they raid clubs and bust girls who don’t know any better after they’ve partied all night and felt these girls up properly.

I don’t feel represented by my government and basicly feel like they wish I would go away. Mind you these are the very same people who patronize me and others.

How many sex workers are living in America who are subjugated not by the work they do, but by their local government. How many of you don’t even vote because they feel it’s futile, that we will never reform the sex laws.

So it’s hard for me to get excited about elections, maybe I’ll run myself someday, after all Italy had La Ciccolina.

  1. Run in Ohio though, a state hijacked far too long by conservative moron phonies who are against everything that good like casinos, strip clubs and kinky consentual adult sex. Shake things up Ruby I’ll vote for you.

  2. The word “with” should be “wish”. I caught that and fixed it.

  3. I still don’t understand the mentality behind the people in porn or associated with porn or in any part of the entertainment industry that votes Republican. They want to squash everything that they see as ‘obscene’ but only because it wins them votes in the red states.

  4. Trust me, the Dems are not all friends of porn too. Ever heard of the “Feminazis”, they also hate porn and unlike the Reeps, that only prosecute porn in election years, the former are true believers and hardline social reformers. I saw some photos of one of the Founding Mothers of the Sex Industry Survivors movement, a 80’s escort that become a hardline feminist, in Senator Clinton´s presence and a former porn actress that she saved from heroin and porn was there too among several former escorts. I guess they were not talking good things on the industry.

  5. You are right that nothing changes if people don’t vote, but change is slow. The industry has a lot of monkey’s on its back and Linda Lovelace was not that long ago. Why would you want to be recognized by Washington. They will just put more taxes on what you do and regulations. Right now they ignore you so be thankful for small minded men in Washington.

  6. Point made! Not until I’m really old and nonthreatening.
