Reasons to be scared of Palin

  1.     Palin Slashed Funding for Teen Moms. Whe reduced funding for Covenant House Alaska by more than 20 percent, cutting funds from $5 million to $3.9 million. Covenant House is a mix of programs and shelters for troubled youths, including Passage House, which is a transitional home for teenage mothers. (Washington Post)
     2.      Her Views on Sex Education. When she ran for governor of Alaska in 2006, Sarah Palin was asked if she would support abstinence-before-marriage programs over sex education, school clinics and contraceptive distribution. She was firm in her answer: "Explicit sex ed programs will not find my support." (San Francisco Chronicle)
     3.      Few Mayoral Accomplishments. Before she was elected governor, she was mayor of a tiny Anchorage suburb, where her greatest accomplishment was raising the sales tax to build a hockey rink.
     4.      She Was "For It’ Before She Was "Against It!" As a candidate for governor in 2006, Palin had backed funding the infamous "bridge to nowhere." After her election, she killed the much-ridiculed project when it became clear the state had other priorities. (LA Times) She then kept federal funds allotted for it after the deal fell through. (CBS News)
     5.      Pork Barrel Spending. Palin hired DC lobbyists to help direct nearly $27 million in pork projects to the town of Wasilla. And today we learn that McCain has actually condemned some of the very earmarks his running mate and her lobbyists secured. (CBS News)
     6.      More Pork Barrel Spending. This year she submitted to Congress a list of Alaska projects worth $197.8 million, including $2 million to research crab productivity in the Bering Sea and $7.4 million to improve runway lighting at eight Alaska airports. A spokesman said she cut the original list of 54 projects to 31. (LA Times)
     7.      Does Not Put "Country First." She has vocally supported the Alaskan Independence Party, a group that has long pushed for a statewide vote on whether Alaska should secede from those same United States. (LA Times)
     8.      Campaign Contributions Nightmare. She accepted $5,000 in campaign contributions in 2001 from executives of Veco Corp., an Anchorage-based oil-services company, when she was running for lieutenant governor. Veco is at the heart of a federal investigation of alleged political corruption; two executives pleaded guilty last year to bribing state politicians. (Bloomberg.com)
     9.      Another Scandalous Probe. A separate probe, initiated by the Alaska Legislature, is looking into Palin’s dismissal of Public Safety Commissioner Walt Monegan in July. Monegan has said he was pressed by members of the governor’s family and administration to fire a state trooper who was involved in a contentious divorce from Palin’s sister. (Bloomberg.com)
     10.      Palin’s Own Crazy Preacher. From the age of 12 and for most of her adult life, Sarah Palin attended the Wasilla Assembly of God. the church’s preacher, Ed Kalinins preached that critics of President Bush will be banished to hell; questioned whether people who voted for Sen. John Kerry in 2004 would be accepted to heaven; charged that the 9/11 terrorist attacks and war in Iraq were part of a war "contending for your faith;" and said that Jesus "operated from that position of war mode." (The Huffington Post) Speaking to school of ministry graduates gathered at Wasilla Assembly of God on June 8, Palin asked the crowd to pray for the corporate cooperation necessary to build a $30 billion natural gas pipeline across Alaska. (Chicago Tribune)
     11.      She’s a Creationist. As a candidate for governor, Palin called for teaching creationism alongside evolution in Alaska’s public schools. She has not made clear whether she accepts the theory of evolution as fact. (Associated Press)
     12.      Does Not Believe Global Warming is Caused by Man. "A changing environment will affect Alaska more than any other state, because of our location," Palin recently told Newsmax, an Internet news site. "I’m not one though who would attribute it to being manmade." (Associated Press)
     13.      Banning Books. As mayor of Wasilla, Alaska, she sought to have 90 books banned from the local library and threatened to fire the librarian. (Time Magazine) Entire list of proposed banned books below (Library.net).
     14.      Lagniappe!: Details also emerged about the father of Bristol Palin’s child. He is Levi Johnston, 18, a high school ice hockey player. He describes himself on his MySpace page as a "f****** red-neck". He says that he has a girlfriend but "I don’t want kids". Last night Levi’s mother said that he was heading for the convention to meet the Palin family. (London Times)

  1. She’s a traitor to her sex and I’d rather vote for a misogynist. I hope Hillary runs in 2012, she’s probably the only one who seems to actually know what she was doing.

  2. They stupidly think she can get Hillary’s female votes. No true Hillary female supporter would vote for a woman like Sarah Palin.

  3. Real Luke Ford Fan says:

No true male Hillary supporter would vote for a man like McCain too!

  4. jeremiahsteele says:

Hillary’s a cunt and Bill’s her bitch. She’s involved in some sinister shit. If she ran and won in 2012 I guess that would be the apocalypse the Mayans and others were predicting.

Essentially the left and right are two arms of the same evil beast, two puppets controlled by the same puppet master(s). Right arm usually dominates, left arm supports, usually unless you’re a lefty. The only democrates or repbulicans who aren’t puppets like Kucinich win democratic debates yet somehow end up last in the polls. Hillary would never pull out and I’m not talking about sex because she’s a dyke. She’s a pro-war whore. She’d stay in Iraq as long as McCain, which is forever. Hopefully Barack wins and ain’t no uncle Tom.

  5. Palin is in the ticket for the Huckabee voters.

  6. What happened to the response to this post that was here last night? Was it removed? It said something to the effect that you should stick to writing about which pornstars have herpes, and who is banging who and leave the political discussion to those who have at least half a clue. It was great. Then again, thats probably why it was removed.

Nice to see the parrots on the left have wasted no time in repeating andrepeating and repeating their talking points .

Does anyone here have anything ORIGINAL or even thougth provoking things to say about the current sad state of our politacal system, or is it just cut and paste the same od m=same old.

I, like EVERYONE else here know nothing about S Palin. I doubt anyone here including myself have ever even heard of this lady. Now we know all we need to know it two days. You folks on the extreme left are just as judgemental as those on the extreme right. The only difference is that those on the right admit to being judgemental and are proud of it. The left claims that theyre not. That is the difference between a hypocrite and a liar.

  7. Rics,
The huck voters are voting for McCain no matter who he chose. Who else would they have as an alternative? They aint votin for barak, and they aint gonna risk wasting their vote on a third party because that would help Barak.

  8. The fear was that in a McCain Lieberman ticket the Huck voters would stay home.

A fear less founded now that Barack and not Hills is the Dems cantidate. Barack scares the shite out of even moderate conservatives.

  9. Rics, lest agree to disagree on this. What we can agree on is the coice is between the better of two evils. I dont think voters on either side will stay home in protest. That would help the other side too much.

buts lets leave PARTY politics behind.

Which MAN would you rather vote for? I’ll take McCain.

Can you imagine a fighter pilot becoming the Commander in Chief. I would not want to face an army that has a fighter pilot as Commander in Chief.

  10. I’m not American and I cannot vote but I do have ties with both US conservatives and libertarians (the see in the eye on the economy but not on porn and the war) and I would vote for Macca if I can.

I just do not trust the Dems on foregin policy. Much less some of the liberal wing of the party like Obama and Biden.
    They are not realists.

  11. WHY NOT-The post that was deleted that you are talking about was I guess moved to the Sarah Palin cheats on her husband story, OR MAYBE IT WAS THERE ALL ALONG AND YOU ARE AN IDIOT!

  12. Real Luke Ford Fan says:

George W. Bush, a Republican-Rightist and have endorsed McCain, is the most unpopular US president in US history. JFK, a Democrat-Leftist, is the most popular US president in US history. Enough said!
