Savana Switzer writes-

…There’s little doubt that Marc Wallice made a mistake, as humans are apt to do. The only thing the remains in question, a decade later, is to what extent he knowingly committed these mistakes. Wallice’s situation ultimately partitions down to a black-and-white situation of either performing while he was knowingly infected or negligently worked without an updated test. There is no doubt that some responsibility falls on to the shoulders of the higher-ups, including Sharon Mitchell, who has since admitted culpability. But one has to wonder why Wallice, who previously had a track record of frequent, responsible testing, suddenly stopped being that way in the mid-90’s, and why he started going to a different clinic than his co-stars. It certainly smacks of the possibility that he discovered elsewhere the reality of his status, and went to considerable lengths to keep his status hidden so as not to hurt his career. Unfortunately for Wallice, appearances are very damning.

Sexism plays a major role in why Wallice is allowed to work, while all but one of his victims has been removed from the industry. "Victims" probably seems a super-charged word, but it should be. Testing is the one protection talents have from the biggest threat to their lives as a result of their occupations, and when tests started coming back positive, Brooke Ashley and Tricia Devereaux took the worst of it. They were judged for their outside conduct, when the real culprit was Wallice. It was his outside activities that infected him, and in turn, infected several more actresses. Devereaux has continued to work, thankfully, and remains a pillar of female empowerment in the industry. Along with the likes of Nina Hartley and Samantha Lewis, she made be one of the few women who can turn this industry on its’ ear and force a better treatment of women everywhere. But Ashley, Caroline and Kimberly Jade have fallen off the radar–why isn’t the very industry that put them at risk falling all over itself to offer them compensatory employment, the way it has Wallice?

The fact that Wallice continues to work in an industry he compromised is a travesty. Some have argued that if he were editing movies, it would be acceptable. Not to me, and I bet not to any of the women he infected. He broke a sacred trust, and whether it was due to negligence or knowledge is irrelevant. The audacity to put a man who so carelessly rejected the health standards for himself and others in a position to where he continues to profit from it is truly unforgivable. I wonder if any of these companies would care to offer Ashley, Caroline or Jade a position. How about fetching coffee? According to lukeisback.com, Ashley recently tried to get hired as a receptionist at a car dealership, just to pay her medical bills. Why don’t these companies who employ Wallice and defend his continued presence in the business cut some of his check and send it their way? Then again, what is the price of a life? In the case of Wallice, what is the price of five? …

  1. IF, and that a big IF, Marc Wallice intentionally withheld his HIV status it seems very disingenuous to describe his actions as “making a mistake.” If what is alleged is true then it was NOT inany way a mistake. It was intentional. Where was the ‘mistake?’

Another of the industries BIG LIES…We police ourselves. Even if you intetionally infect someone with HIV the porn police(lol) do nothing about it. By the way, does anybody know who does this policing of the porn industry? The asnwer is NOBODY inside or out, polices this industry.

This industry han NEVER done anything of any significance for any HIV infected performer, unless you count ignoring, and hanging them out to dry as doing something.

The good ole boys network is alive and well in porn.. I wonder if HPV caused testicular cancer if the industry would do anything aobut it? But hey, only the ladies suffer the majorconsepuences of HPV so what do they care?

NOODY inside this industry is concerned with actually making the health and safety for workers a priority. While AIM does what it does, it is not near enough. A multi-billion dollar industry, bigger than the NBA<MLB< and NFL combined that has only one NON PROFIT CLINIC to give only remedial healthcare is the biggest joke in this industry.

When asked on a thread on ADT years ago, Ernst Greene(AIM president board of directors) was asked if AIM was a true healthcare clinic or a facility that exists to just facilitate the production of porn. His answer was “BOTH.” At that moment the industry lost any, if they ever had any, credibility.

If this industry wont blackball someone like Wallice, then who will it ever take any action against. But hey, this is the industry that tells us that these girls enjoy all the great anal sex theyre getting. If you cant see through that then you need your eyes checked.

  2. And how come nobody ever talks about all the HIV in the industry during the 80’s and early 90’s before Wallice? Or HIV in the gay side of the biz? (over 50%)

Oh wait, you guys police yourself. And you do a fine job….NOT!!!!!!!!!

  3. But one good thing did come out of this. Last december, the california courts ruled in Brooke Ashely’s favor that she was an employee, and entitled to workers comp…

It is now the law…performers are not IC, even if you pay them with as a 1099 IC Why do you think VIVID settled the lawsuit bought by Kira Kenner, and how come the industry “journalists” have ignored all of this…..or is it that there are no industry journalists capable of even covering a story like this.

Porn industry journalist….now thats funny….kind of like professional wrestling.

Like I said before, If the real Luke were dead he would be rolling over in his grave.

  4. When did Sharon Mitchell ever accept any culpability in this fiasco? How could she possibly be responsile for Marc Wallice allegedly forging his tests. Wanst It sharon mitchell adn patric collins who finally got him to take the pcr test that showed he was positive? And wasnt it this string of events that was the catylist for forming AIM? AIM did not exist before this string of HIV positive performers started showing up, or is my timeline wrong?

If the allegations are true there is one and only one person resposible for what happened, and that is Marc Wallice.

  5. Larry Horse says:

Marc Wallice was and is a piece of crap, look at any of the movies he did in the 90’s and tell me he wasnt high as a kite. To the old timers he’s one of their own so they help his lying’ de facto murderin’ ass. The women, for the most part are persona non grata to the biz. As for “Dr” Mitch, she and Saint Bill(Margold) tried to bury the crisis with Wallice, limiting the scope of Wallice’s crimes, keep it “in the family”. Anyone have a copy of one of Wallice’s bogus tests?

  6. whobedat, the 80’s and early 90’s is completely different than what’s happening today. HIV and AIDS was just starting during the 80’s. We didn’t know the truth and the extent of if all. And it was being labeled a gay disease when it never was. The ones dying in the 90’s were infected during the 80’s.
