WHAT IS THE COST OF SMUT IN CHINA, ANYWAY?

I talked to my foreign correspondent the other night and decided to pose the above question to him. Ben Wa spends a lot of time all over the world, but especially in Bejing. And he also spends a lot of time watching porn. So I wondered what it was like when you are a foreign man in a foreign land and knew you were going to have a lonely night. Let’s say a US businessman (We’ll call him Biz) is in a Chinese hotel and was feeling a bit on the horny side. But not wanting to catch anything to bring home to the wife and kids perhaps he could just get his hands on some Asian Ass movies and spend some quality alone time. So Ben tells me it’s not easy like it is back home in the US. He tells me all the details….

A while ago if you wanted to purchase an X-rated DVD in China, you just had to go to one of the illegal, but ignored, little shops that sold pirated copies of the latest in international intercourse. But recently things have changed. The Chinese Government, wanting to “clean up” their country, especially, their star city of Bejing, for the coming Olympics, meant getting rid of all those stores that sold nasty movies, and especially those dirty movies themselves. So the law that was over looked in the past is now being strictly enforced. Possession of a porn will get you a fine. Selling porn will get you some time in jail. And making a porn? Oh you don’t even want to think about getting caught doing that!

Now our businessman (Biz) will have to ask a local where to find those “yellow movies” ( that’s what they are called in China). And he will have to find a local that trusts him enough to tell him, because all porn has now gone underground. When he is arriving at the address Biz will be surprised to find that it is an apartment, or used to be an apartment. It is now converted to a one bedroom DVD store. Or maybe our Biz arrives at a clothing store, looking around he sees no DVD’s displayed. But when he tells the saleslady the name of who sent him, he is taken to the store’s dressing rooms. One of doors is unlocked for him and it is full of copies of porn.

Biz grabs a couple and pays anywhere from $5-$15 a piece for them. Now remember, they aren’t original DVD’s with covers, they are just illegal copies. You can’t get originals. If you want to buy a mainstream movie, such as “The Hulk”, you can get an illegal copy of that too, but it will only be $1.50. So an X will cost you up to ten times the price of an R.

To make this whole situation even more ironic, you can purchase a dildo, a vibrator, a blowup doll or any kind of sexual DEVICE in any number of storefronts where they are legal and available These are considered “toys”, and there is nothing wrong with toys, right? So Biz picks up a butt plug for later. I don’t want to hear those details…. But anyway, I am going off on a tangent in my little fake story. So lets just say, that THAT is the cost of smut in China.

Thanks for the info Ben Wa.
And thanks for the story idea Jim B.
