FSC’s Bash Features Pres. Candidate Gravel; Honors Eddie Wedelstedt

Tom Hymes writes:

UNIVERSAL CITY Calif. — History was made at the Free Speech Coalition’s Red, White and Blue Bash last night by former Senator Mike Gravel when he became the first U.S. presidential candidate to speak at an adult entertainment industry function during a campaign.

Eddie Wedelstedt, the founder of Goalie Entertainment and Eddie’s Kids, was also honored last night by the Free Speech Coalition and the many industry luminaries in attendance, and even by Gravel himself, during a classy affair at Universal Studio’s Globe Theatre that included a sit down dinner and silent auctions ringing the beautifully-lit room.

  1. Tom provides a good description in this article. The evening truly was an unprecedented event in the adult industry.
The three courses, catered by Wolfgang Puck, were a gourmet delight. The beautifully-lit, elegantly decorated theater provided a perfect venue. Guests donned their best cocktail attire and posed on the red carpet, as Universal Studio crowds tried to get a glimpse of who was attending. The silent auction items included original art, wines, jewelry, and firs. Unfortunately, the entertainment left a bit to be desired.
However, the less-than-superior entertainment was hardly noticed because the crowd was rendered stunned and speechless by the historic event they had just witnessed. A US Presidential candidate had just told them to take pride in their industry—that he supports them and their right to do what they do. Then, that candidate, during the lengthy question-and-answer session, actually strategized with industry leaders on how to overcome repressive government. A presidential candidate stood up and told the truth.
The changing tide is truly palpable.
