Beverly Hills lawyer Richard Sherman (of Sherman & Nathanson) has been sending out cease and desists on behalf of numerous porn girls alleging everything from sexual slavery to copyright infringement to unsafe working conditions. He’s yet to file suit.
At least 15 companies have received their C&Ds. The companies claim these C&Ds are frivolous. Even if they are, even if Richard Sherman is a total clown, his threats are going to cause various pornographers (including LFP?) tens of thousands of dollars. If Sherman is good, then he’ll cost pornographers millions of dollars.
If Richard Sherman did not exist, some other smart lawyer would set his sights on pornographers (many of whom don’t have their legal act together, and even ones who do are still vulnerable).
As of right now, Richard Sherman is the most significant development in porn this summer.
Porn girls make horrible witnesses. They rarely show up for depositions and court appearances.
If he is smart he doesnt need to file frivolous lawsuits.
