I spent years around these people. I was around crime from 1986 until 2005 when I was no longer on the street.
There were more years and places this is just a timeline. I spent over a year in a hotel. I was not able to do anything. I just read and waited. The Feds would come by or call. I would meet with other OC Squads from all over.
I would also take calls from guys who wanted to find me. Once Teddy Persico and his brothers were taken down, everyone knew for sure that I flipped. I just wanted to be done and move on with my life.
I spoke to many people on the LA Family. They are much like those other LCN Crews across the country, very small.
They were never that large to begin with and now they are down to 10 made guys. They are not in control. Really what LCN family is in control of a city? None! Those days went the way of the Speak easy.
I used to speak to my buddy Anthony Fiato a lot during my time in the hotel.
We would laugh at all the guys we knew. Some were fun guys like Louie Gelfuso.. Others like peter "Shakes" Milano were petty.
Shakes Milano is a sneaky boss. The guy never takes a risk. Why should he? He does alright. He makes a few guys who will kiss ass and kick him some cash. Why rock the boat? He knows the whole LCN is over. he had a father and Uncle in the LCN. Shakes Milano has ben a boss for longer than most. He did kill the family by not moving forward, but the FBI killed the LCN.

I liked Los Angeles, but Brooklyn was fun. It was new and a change. The guys were the same as any criminals I had worked with anywhere. Brooklyn is like a High School, which is funny because most of the guys never went to school.
After a few years there I saw the whole thing for the dead end it would be.
These guys you read about. Sonny Franzese, The Persico’s, Baudanza’s and so many more. What life so they really have?
The guys who did well in Brooklyn are the hard working guys who built something from nothing. Hard working guys.
A wiseguy is a shortcut guy.
The end will be nothing.

I get a phone call. "What does LCN mean?" "La Cosa Nostra."
