‘Extreme’ porn proposals spark row

From the BBC:

A man addicted to violent porn websites has been convicted for the second time of murdering a teacher. Legislation to ban such sites is going through Parliament, but a small group of otherwise law-abiding people say the changes will criminalise them.

  1. streetphotoman says:

Be interesting to see if they make it illegal to watch or own Nagisa Oshima’s
Ai no corrida ( bull fight of love) or
Pasolini’s Salo as well as violent porn sites.

  2. The brits censorship board will use the cultural exception to allow those films to be legal. You live in the UK, if I understand correctly sexualy explicit arthouse films were legal before the R 18 certificate was issued to regular porn films. I heard that feminist were up in arms with Tony Blair gov allegely permisive stand of porn. Will Gordon Brown change that to regain the left in his own party? Please keep us informed.
