The 2011 Tranny Awards were more than simply a fan meet and greet this year. Grooby Productions absolutely outdid themselves and made it feel like the industry event it is meant to be.
After several venue changes the final choice was Joseph’s Cafe in Hollywood. The venue provided a most intimate atmosphere as many people were sitting on laps and standing during the awards ceremony. Even in the reserved VIP area people were sitting on the back of the booths to allow as many people to be able to see the stage throughout the show. People from all corners of the industry came from all over the world for this year’s Tranny Awards and they all wanted to see every second of the ceremony.
One of the major improvements for this year’s Tranny Awards was the media exposure and sponsorships who are more than TS porn producers. Companies like AEBN, Kink.com and Eros.com, to name a few, all proudly sponsored the event. The buzz that was created attracted several adult media outlets such as emmreport.com as well. Because of these things the Tranny Awards were given a lot more legitimacy as an adult entertainment event and because of this it will help propel TS porn to break a few more barriers as it continues to reach even larger audiences.
Everyone who played a part in the Tranny Awards did a magnificent job. From the programs and banners to the hosting and presenting along with all of the behind the scenes work, this was a night all of TS porn to be proud of who they are and what they have accomplished. We all have our differences and at times egos get in the way of professionalism but for one night we came together as a community to celebrate the glorious art of transsexual porn at the 2011 Tranny Awards.

Fartz, I was actually just using the term in the non-gender specific manner. I’m sure a couple of the super sensitive “Pronoun Posse” or “Pronoun Police” will take offense but most of the emails I’ve received since standing up to a few of them, by other TS performers for the most part, have agreed that such people do their cause far more damage than they think.
They can’t stand that someone refuses to march in lockstep with their narrowly defined terminology, hampering any real progress (preferring instead to settle for handouts that can be taken away without notice). Most just want to be left alone and/or allowed to figure out who they are (Gram Ponante wrote an accurate piece recently), their niche as valid as any other in porn that still makes money.
While they aren’t my thrill any more than the gay stuff (let’s be honest; possess a working cock and all the surgeries, hormones, and sociological double-talk aren’t going to make you a female, just an effeminate male catering to other males that have their own gender or sexual identity issues), there is plenty of room in the world for adults to engage in whatever consensual sex they choose to, and more power to them. 🙂
