It’s funny & proves how long I’ve been around the industry, that it just seems natural that I , Cindi Loftus, run Lukeisback.com. Doesn’t occur to me that there needs to be an explanation as to why a female named Cindi runs a site with a guy’s name, Luke, on it. And who is Luke that came back? I have been asked by many to explain this whole situation. So here goes, don’t expect the timeline/dates to be perfect, the short version…
In 1995, Luke Ford started out wanting to write a book about the history of porn. He introduced himself to various industry people and ended up on porn sets. He was (is) a religious person, who was conflicted about his new subject matter, but he got drawn in, and became friendly with some of the players. He worked on his book and in 1997 started a site called Lukeford.com where he talked about people he met in the adult business. His site became the GO TO one for porn gossip.
Luke was very prolific and interviewed everyone he could. He also took bad pictures of the stars at events, they were so awful that his photography skills became known as "the Camera of Death." ( My readers miss this feature to this day)
Luke told many important stories, but also tended to tell some that weren’t quite true. He got sued several times. His most important "tell" was in 1998, when Luke broke the Marc Wallace/HIV+ story. Seems several porn actresses were now infected too.
Luke Ford put out his book "The History of X " in 1999.
In 2001 Luke sold LukeFord.com. and left the adult business. He started Lukeford.net, ( that he still runs), where he talks about his religious faith, among other things.
Luke didn’t stay away long, one year later he was back running Lukeisback.com. This site was popular quickly, but Luke always talked about how he felt about porn (badly), and his site had a depressing edge to it, that, along with his outragious commenters kept readers coming back.
Luke sold this site a couple of different times. The buyers defaulted & Luke returned. In June 2008, Luke sold the site again (with undisclosed terms). Now his long time friend, Cindi Loftus was in charge & she has been running it ever since.

You forgot to mention that Luke Ford did a scene or two back in the day.
Luke was a good reporter and decent interviewer and for a guy who had chronic fatigue syndrome was a very active on stories, far more than Gene Ross ever was and of course the Pravda of Porn, AVN. The porn world has called him Pariah ever since the Marc Wallice story, but he was right and didnt participate in the botched coverup attempt by Sharon Mitchell. I do wonder how much Luke has been screwed up cause his dad was big in the Seven Day Adventist community and then part of the schism.
I remember his old site and I like it better now under Cindi’s watch (not kissing up to her its a fact).
No one remembers Luke? I have been reading this site and its predecessor daily since 2000. Luke Ford is still the most competent journalist ever to cover porn. Gene Ross is a distant second. I love you Cindi, but you are more of a public relations type of writer.

Real Luke Ford (f)Fan is a real Luke Ford fan! At least the reports on the realities of the porn industry, not P.R and propaganda. No offence, Cindi Loftus, but if you’re offended I guess we’ll have to agree to disagree.

It’s interesting, for lack of a better word, how little so many people seem to know about porn’s past. I’m referring to its fairly recent past, not its long ago past. That includes it’s fans (fairly understandable) and its cast and crew. (Somewhat less understandable.)
Luke invented porn gossip and rumor sites. He sucked, for many and varied reasons, as an actual journalist but he still gets credit for inventing porn gossip/rumor sites and, possibly, porn blogging in general.

Yeah Jimmyd used to write some fun blogs a while back that I enjoyed reading when it was the ‘good ole days’. When I have time I always enjoy reading Cindi’s blog and some of the others too. Luke Ford might have been hated by some but he was always pleasant to me. I do however remember back in the day when we threw one of our huge porn parties with SexZ Pictures and some key industry people including one director objected viciously to him being invited. I always enjoyed inviting everybody but it was that moment when I realized Luke was really hated by some. Ah, the good ole days!
