Adult industry trade association Free Speech Coalition has revealed the location of the first four testing facilities to participate in the Adult Production Health & Safety Services program. APHSS is the association’s attempt to maintain industry-wide health screening in the wake of AIM Medical Associates PC’s closure earlier this year.

“This program has been developed with the help of legal and medical experts, as well as industry members,” said FSC Executive Director Diane Duke. “It will be administrated by Free Speech Coalition as a resource to fill the gap left by the closure of the AIM clinic.”

AIM, the adult industry’s first and primary provider of the monthly health screenings performers must undergo before working for most content producers, closed in May due to financial hardship. The organization had been in operation since 1998.

On Wednesday, APHSS revealed four recommended testing facilities. Three operate clinics in the greater Los Angeles area as well as at other locations in California, Nevada and Florida. The fourth comprises a network of clinics nationwide. Performers who test at any of the facilities may have their work-availability results entered into the APHSS database. Producers and agents will be able to access the database in order to verify a performer’s status.

The clinic locations are:

Primex Lab, 16742 Stagg St., #120, Van Nuys, Calif. Primex operates draw stations throughout California and Nevada. Performers who have a prescription may go to any Primex facility and request a performer’s panel test.

LabTest LA, 12410 Burbank Blvd., Ste. 100B, North Hollywood, Calif. LabTest also operates draw stations in Florida. Performers may obtain prescriptions at any of their locations and request a performer’s panel test.

The Healing Wave Center, 16742 Stagg St., #109, Van Nuys, Calif. This medical clinic can provide testing services and other limited medical services.

Advanced Medical Testing Center operates locations throughout the U.S.

All of the testing facilities also are open to the public and offer a wide range of testing services. For more information about any of the facilities, visit APHSS.org and click the “testing facilities” tab on the top menu bar. From there, users can follow links to the facilities’ websites.

“FSC has been working diligently since the closure of AIM to provide the industry with the APHSS program, in order to continue health and safety protocols for adult production,” Membership Director Joanne Cachapero said. “Our top priority has been to protect the wellbeing and privacy of performers, as well as securing the best possible testing services for the industry.

“We’re starting from scratch with this program, but with the support of the adult community, we’re sure that APHSS will be an important resource for adult productions,” she added. “We also look forward to developing additional services such as health and safety education for industry members.”

The APHSS.org database currently is undergoing beta testing. A formal launch announcement is expected later this week.
