Kris Kramski crafts many of today's best porn movies such as Models and Cape Sin. "Like the great directors of yesteryear, Kris believes in having well crafted stories that add a lot to the sex," writes www.unchain.com. "The sex is just a part of the whole scene and actually the whole movie is built together, so that the sex doesn't work as well without the story and the story doesn't work as well without the sex, but they can both stand on their own."

Kramski says his mother opened the first modeling agency in Milan in the 1960s. Kris's uncle Franco Sheickenbauer worked as a fashion photographer. Since he was a child, Kris has been surronded by beautiful models. He worked as a fashion photographer in London for five years. Tired of hearing that his photos were too sexy, he began shooting for British Penthouse.

He eventually moved to Los Angeles with his Penthouse Pet girlfriend. Working as a still photographer on porno sets, he was "appalled by the lack of professionalism, originality and talent… So, being French, I opened my big mouth and told them they suck. One of my clients, one day, handed me a check and said, "If you think you're so much better than everyone else, why don't you shoot something for us…" Kris shot SexHibition. (www.unchain.com)

Kramski only uses women with real breasts. His favorite actor so far is James Bond who plays a photographer in Models. "I feed into American hypocrisy," says Kris. "The American audience wants to see sexon film but too many viewers are too hypocritical to admit it. They need a "real movie." That gives them an excuse to watch. That's what keeps me in business. If someone wants to watch a porno film just for the thrill of it and to masturbate, one can just watch some of those sleazy all sex gonzo tapes." (www.unchain.com)

In Models, Nancy takes a plunger 18 inches up her ass to orgasm, then vomits, much to the disgust of many viewers. "Mickey Mouse fans and reconverted Boy Scouts aren't supposed to watch porno movies," responds Kris. "Anal stinks… If you go deep enough, it hits the crap in the bowels and it smells. Well, Nancy took it 18 inches up her ass and it stunk up the studio. Then she threw up and I did too."

Kris says "HIV is a harmless virus that can be transmitted through blood contact, hence mostly during anal sex or sharing IV needles. HIV is not the cause of AIDS… Call HEAL at 213-896-8260." (www.unchain.com)

Sin City director Kris Kramski writes: Just barely getting out of my divorce. Sold my house. My wife snatched most of the money. I am in the process of relocating - bought a house in east LA - A little disorganized at present - Live in boxes - Still haven't unpacked yet. But that's life... Isn't it? Completing the editing of my last film: BELLE DE JOUR / and sound work on PORNOVISION.

"Myxomatosis" wrote on RAME: There's a new movie in my local smut shop called Porno (or Porno X, perhaps - the cover is not very clear). It seems to be a doco on the industry, with interviews or scenes from Max Hardcore and about 20 other notables. Anyone seen it? What is it and is it worth getting?

Pat Riley replies on RAME: Yes, I've seen it. The answer to the second question is, it depends.

PLUSES:

Reasonably well acted as long as you don't know the cast well. That's perhaps a cryptic remark but I really can't say more without spoiling it for someone who is not a frequent and catholic porn viewer. It is a documentary though. Done by Kris Kramski who is far and above the most able porn director and documentary director (with the possible exception of DAC whose movies I refuse to watch until he gets over his Oriental obsession and abjures having sex on screen himself).

Savage indictment of the people in the industry especially Regan Senter.

Interesting content and amazing that Sin City was willing to distribute it.

MINUSES:

Ron Jeremy takes off his clothes and has sex.

Dick Nasty does the nasty.

Sindee Williams (a plumper) also does sex however her appearance is more pitiful than repulsive.

Drew Andrews (a bisexual or gay guy) discusses and demonstrates his preparations for anal sex.

We find out that Olivia Love (a she-male) is probably deaf.

We see Kathy Jones (a really ugly old biddy) naked.

Johnny Toxic gives us a long speech on his views of the industry.

Kris Kramski tells us his weird views on HIV/AIDS.

Ron Sullivan (Henri Pachard) is asked some hard-hitting questions and his responses sound (and he sounds) pitiful.

SUMMARY

The movie is not intended to be erotic and lots of the material is negative (especially Regan Senter) but it's well done. If you're a regular reader of Luke F-rd you'll see some of the same ideas expressed or demonstrated. People who are industry SFB's will hate it. Even though it's not intended to be erotic, I did find Allison Killgore to be arousing despite her bigger-than-a-C-cup tits. Something about her earth mother looks.

Note that the movie was done in 1998 and only released late 2000. And the title is unclear to me too. The credits just say "Porno" if that clarifies matters any.

Luke says: I wrote about this movie and snapped stills of it in April 1999.

David Aaron Clark writes on RAME: I know how grueling my screen presence can be to tender sensibilities. I try to see that consumers are warned on the box ... but I promise this year to keep my girth out of all but the ocassional sleazy gonzo production ... so stick with the features, and your lunch will be saved! Now, I can't really promise anything about the Asian obsession (C'mon, Pat, please join the rest of us -- not "oriental," but "Asian" when refering to the people), but I am supposed to be doing some projects for a couple of studios where they'll be wanting more "mainstream" leads ...

Jeremy Steele writes: Anyway, I wanted to clarify a couple of tid bits about Kris Kramski's street release of "Porno".. The final release is missing a secret tape recorded message by Jim South and some associates on an answering machine of one time performer Kelly Jean's, telling her to come to Jim South's Vegas suite and "take care of him" if she wants to get some work.. It was originally aired in the film during the point when the interviewing crew is filming the steps of World Modeling as they are walking up them and into the office.. leading up to the question that was not omitted to him about if he has sex with his talent. I was told that Mr Kramski received some death threats about releasing that segment of the film, and it was enough to scare him into omitting it... However, if anyone wants a copy of it, I have a few extras of the unedited version that were given to me.

Since World Modeling had deliberately created and spread false rumours about me and gave female talent the ultimatum to not work with me(during the time Steve Austin was working there.. Gene Ross is one of my witnesses by the way) because I had a falling out with them, I will never forgive that.. and I still suffer the ramifications to this day.. So, I have no problems with sharing it and am not scared of any human animal on this earth, so bring it on!

Also, by the way, the "crazy" ideas Mr Kris Kramski expressed at the end of the film are my fault.. I'm the one, although he doesn't seem to remember in the interview, who introduced him with the alternative info on HIV/AIDS.. I was almost going to mention to l-keford.com the Wednesday December 20th 2000 L.A. Times big front page article titled "How a New Policy Led to Seven Deadly Drugs".. The gov't FDA has been aligned with the pharmaceutical industry and it's the drugs that, in part have been killing people, including anti-AIDS drugs causing AIDS themselves, but then I thought to myself, "Oh who reads the paper here anyway?".

Kris Kramski's Porno Documentary

XXX says: Sin City hated that movie [Porno]. They gave him a lot of money to do that and they had no idea what they were getting. James DiGiorgio made Shooting Sex (also about the shooting of a porn film) before Kramski. David Sturman probably thought that Kramski was going to follow in DiGiorgio's footsteps and make a mock documentary and include a bunch of sex. Instead, Kramski made a real documentary on David's $70,000. As opposed to the $18,000 they spent on Shooting Sex.

Just to show how smart they are at Sin City, they hated Shooting Sex. And then it got nominated for Best Sex Comedy by AVN despite of them. In fact, in spite of them not even submitting it. Then they hated Kramski's documentary. They hated it so much they didn't put it out for two years. The more they sat on it, the more they realized that we've got this thing that we spent all this money on. We might as well put it out and recoup some of our expenditures which is unrecuperable.

Kramski thought he was going to get a big deal out of HBO for it. It never happened. Because it ain't good enough. Mainstream guys want a non-porno hook to do a documentary on porno. You can't just make a general purpose pornography documentary. Just like Rolling Stone doing a profile on SearchExtreme.com's founder Adam Grayson. Rolling Stone simply wanted a porno story in their college issue. Grayson fit the bill.

You can't do another documentary on HIV. It's been done to death. So have generic porno documentaries.

I'm sure Kramski did a good job but it's been done to death. Kramski fed David baloney. Kramski has no connections with mainstream. He was a fashion and smut photographer in New York. He got his break through Rita and Yosef at Sunshine Films with the hit Sexhibition.

Cindi Loftus writes in the January issue of Xcitement magazine that Porno is the most interesting video of the month:

A true insider's look at the adult movie industry is PORNO. From the clinical casting couch auditions at an agent's messy house to the filming of a 400 pound women having sex, this tape is the real thing. If you ever wanted to be in a porno movie, or just want to know what goes on behind the scenes, this movie is for you. It includes interviews with top people in the industry; the agents, the directors, the production people, and some of the industry's kinkier players. There are things that will shock you.

Kris Kramski, director of the docu-drama, puts it all out there in grainy black and white. This is a back stage pass for all you porno groupies. Not for the hot sex scenes, because the sex is pretty perfunctory. As a matter of fact many of the performers are talking to the reporter as they are banging away. This vid is for those true pornophiles interested in what REALLY goes on behind the velvet curtain.

Cindy AKA Allison Kilgore does an excellent job as the interviewer slash recently graduated journalism student. She isn't the sweet innocent thing we thought she was all through the movie, which is a tribute to her acting ability. She is not the hard hitting, no questions barred reporter, but actually in real life, just another porn star.

A revealing interview with Max Hardcore gives us insight into his real opinion on women. He says "All girls are whores, whether they realize it or not. The problem is that when the girl is a whore, who doesn't think she's a whore, that's when she gets f---ed up in the head. I'm here to straighten them out." We also learn that the most famous male porn performer, Ron Jeremy, is really just a nice, humble guy with a good job. He puts it all in perspective when he says "I'm just a prop. The girls are the stars. The girls are who you want to see. The girls make the money."

The movie was good and definitely worth watching. Just shut it off after the Ron Jeremy scene. That is when it should have ended. For the last 10 boring minutes of the film the director has himself interviewed and assaults us with his opinions on HIV, aids, religion and facial shots. Kris, you did a great job writing and directing 98% of the movie, why you had to stoke your ego by a self grandiose Q & A for the last few minutes and ruin it, I don't know.
