Pat Riley reviews Ernest's 1993 flick Phantom and the Whip. "In the book, he comes across as well educated with a good command of the English language but in person he looks like a cross between a bull and Ron Jeremy. Short, with no neck and tattoos on his back and shoulders, one would never think of him as an intellectual... "The movie almost
takes B&D to its logical conclusions... The B&D is not an end
in itself but a method of making the girl [Star Chandler) conform to
the male's wishes; the girls are attractive - not recycled past-their-prime
porn stars; the girl ceases to resist after a while, not because she's
beaten into submission but because she enjoys her role..." (Pat
Riley, X-Rated Videotape Guide 4, p. 441)
