Brisbane resident Dean Shannon of Intergal is probably Australia's richest and most successful porn webmaster.

He exploded out of nowhere to grab the attention of the adult internet in 1997 as General@Intergal.com.

In the year 2000, Dean largely moved on from his porn sites to concentrate on his mainstream ventures. His subordinates run Intergal and his other porn operations.

Shannon is generally regarded as the class act of the Brisbane internet porn crowd. He pays his models more than anybody - around $2000 for a softcore shoot. Dean is also regarded by internet porners that I've talked to as the most likely to stay within the law and within norms of decency in all his operations. Though at one point, like the rest of the Brisbane net porners, Shannon was known as a spammer.

Private Investigator K.J. Word writes on Sponsorpost.com: "Intergal was a partnership between two partners by the name of Richard Ramage and Dean Shannon. These two partners have gone their separate ways and are no longer involved with one another in any way. Richard Ramage took several of the Intergal sites and created Eazybucks effective 11/1/2000 while Dean developed many new sites and incorporated them into Intergal. Eazybucks and Intergal are NOT affiliated with each other.

"This sponsor is said to change terms in order not to pay webmasters... This is how far we got with them so far - too many fraud alerts on the net about them for them not to answer unreserved. But It has gotten far better and the evidence submitted by intergal starts to clear things up."

Frank writes from down under: I dont really know why someone is slamming Dean Shannon on Netpond. Dean has been very quiet lately in the porn world - someone has it in for Dean and I have no idea who it is.

I know Intergal had a hostile webmaster which we are currently dealing with who claims intergal didnt pay them - which is true (but intend to just to clear it up) this webmaster sent intergal 31 sign ups from 160 uniques and then sent us the customer ibill receipts to prove they got the sign ups - and only 5 members logged on at all ( intergal is going to cancel all the members and refund them as it really looks like fraud ) but i cant understand why they are so persistant in wanting their money it is an obvious scam anyway this sort of thing happen occassionaly. so we all know you cannot convert like that and how the hell would the webmaster get customer recepits ( well realistically anyway - they claim they asked their surfers ! )

Dean Shannon doesn't live in Christopher Skases [former owner of Australia's Channel 7 network] house but your information wasnt that misguided. Dean's parents bought it from Skase himself in 1989 or 1990. Iit was long before Dean got into the adult industry. They sold it a few years later. They bought it with all the furniture pretty funny really some of the items had - deliver to port douglas mirage still on the back of the items - obviously misappropriated public funds and instead of the antiques ending up at Mirage Resort they somehow ended up at Skases!

I hear a war is breaking out between key members of the Australian Porn Mafia.

Greg Lasrado writes: "what war is going on. no one has involved me yet if there is one."

The conflict revolves around a little known Australian pornographer by the name of Daniel Hicks. Dan worked for Dean Shannon until they split.

XXX says: "Hicks's wife did Dean's conveyancing [bookkeeping?]. Dean employed Daniel as his CEO for Dean's non adult businesses. Then Dean and Dan had a tiff and parted company. Dan was employed to do Dean's non-adult business but Dan become more interested in the adult side and went out on his own as a pornographer.

"Dean's got little business interest in porn anymore. Shannon split a few months ago with his partner Rick Ramage and wound down their databases. Dean's Intergal is now run by Shane and Murray. They pay Dean royalties.

"Shannon's taking off with his non-adult ventures. He has a pay-per-click search engine called Pageseeker.com. Pay-per-click is an emerging market in mainstream, after proving its worth in the porn world. Dean's developing products called "Unreal Sports" such as "Unreal Racing."

"Toast.com was Dean's original vehicle for his non-adult offerings but Toast is a registered trademark in the US. So he's going with Dark Blue Sea, as the name for operation. He's raised money in the private equity market and will probably go public on the Australian stock exchange in July or August.

"The downturn in the Nasdaq has not much affected Shannon because his plans are all profit and business focused, not pie in the sky schemes."

Hicks started his own operation with a great email list (which probably belonged to Shannon). Daniel walked into the offices of various members of the infamous Aussie Porn Mafia and everybody mailed to the list. But Daniel never gave them the remove list, so when the Aussie porners mailed to the list, they brought down all kinds of heat on themselves. It even got leading porn credit card processor IBill shut down for a few days by Paul Vixie's Realtime Black Hole List which monitors spammers.

Scott Phillips writes: "Daniel is a self styled Brisbane net porn god, who strangely has not made one dollar out of the industry. His one claim to fame is stealing playgals mailing list after he was fired (he incorrectly told me he was a part owner) and attempting to sell it to all and sundry. As far as I can tell the only thing he is good at is launching vexatious legal actions. Oh yeah, hes is a raving flaming, lisp speaking homosexual, with all the homo baggage that goes along with that."
