Gregory Dark's ex-wife Star Chandler has worked bondage since 1987, after graduating from U.C. Irvine with a degree in English Literature. She then dropped out of graduate school to pursue porn, becoming known as a submissive in a series of Bruce Seven films.

In 1990, she became a dominitrix, her present dominant persona. She published monthly bondage magazines such as Fetishette, Bondage Fantasies and Love Gondage Gallery. In 1996, she reconnected with Bruce Seven, appearing in Buttslammers 11, 12. Star starred in non-sex roles in her husband's Shocking Truth productions, playing a Satanic character doing Dark's bidding. She snarls at Chloe in the original Truth, "You're a slut. You're a whore. You're a pieceof s---."

Chandler says she took her time honing her craft as a dominatrix. "I beat up on my furniture to make sure my aim was on. You want to make sure you don't miss your targeted area. If you hit the kidneys - which are right above the butt, your normal target - you can bruise them. Or if you go around the side of the butt with a whip - what we call a 'wrap,' when the tails of the whip wrap around the submissive - the pain is two or three times more intense than usual. It's not a good feeling. You have to know the human body, know the person you're working with, and know what they can take."
