Shanna Evans appears briefly in the 1983 documentary on porn Fallen Angels as a giggling idiot who wants work in front of porn cameras but turns it down when it's offered to her.

The black girl entered X work in a big way, opposite John Leslie in 1983's Fleshdance.

Adam Editor Jared Rutter writes that Shanna "at nineteen is probably the most naive porn performer we've ever interviewed. She has a sweet, innocent, almost shy manner, and a high, giggly, Betty Boop voice. It's easy to see the kittenish little girl that still lives inside the sensuous woman." (Adam 6/84 p. 11)

From Jamaica, Shanna grew up in New York and Florida. At age 18, she began appearing in men's magazines like Oui, Club, Gallery and Players.

"I always wanted to do nude modeling. I used to look at magazines like Playboy and Penthouse, and the girls were beautiful and sexy. So when a friend of mine saw an ad for nude models, I came to LA. I got an agent Jim South...who talked me into doing X movies."

Shanna signed a long contract with Essex who had high hopes for her, but she dashed them by leaving the industry after performing in three features.

"Most of my boyfriends are Italians. I like the dark complexion and the dark hair. They're so sexy. And so macho - they like to order you around and strut their stuff."

Shanna made many demands before doing X.

"First, I said no anal sex. And I didn't want to do girl-girl either. I just had two scenes with the same guy (John Leslie). The only thing I didn't like was the dirty words I had to say 'f---in' this and that.' So I said to them, 'Am I supposed to talk like this? I can't talk like that.' So they crossed it out." (Adam)
