Luke's email ran: "Just a note to update you with some sad news about adult film star Kim Kataine [real name Kimberly Bailey]. On April 1st, 1999, Kim passed away in a tragic accident at a freinds house. While showering that morning, Kim apparently suffered from a seizure. The washcloth that she was using plugged the drain filling the bathtub. As a result, Kim drowned. We all loved her and will miss this beautiful flower."

I've heard that Kim abused drugs and like many girls in the industry, was highly insecure. I hear that after one break-up with Nick East, she took up with veteran porner Paul Coxx.

East, a former roommate of the late Cal Jammer, dated Kim on and off for four years. He only found out about her death Tuesday night on internet chat, about 36 hours after I heard the news. Like Nick, I did not initially believe it to be true. Nick then phoned Kim's family who confirmed her death.

Nick East told www.geneross.com: "...When I heard April 1st, I thought maybe it wasn't true. But when I heard more details it sounded exactly like Kim because of the circumstances. Kim has had seizures in the past. It had a lot to do with a lot of our problems, her having seizures. Prior to that [her death], she was found a week before by the highway patrol crashed into a ditch. She had another seizure. She came out in February for a couple of weeks and went back. She had her own place in Erie."
