She appears on the cover of the September 1999 edition of Adult Video News, the trade magazine for the porn industry. [At the AVN Awards 2000, Bridgett won Best New Starlet.] She also appears on page four of the October AVN in an ad for Dirty Candy, as well as a "Fresh off the Bus" profile on page 66. Kerkove, her real last name, has lived in the Los Angeles area all her life. The mother of three stands 5'2", weighs 105 pounds and measures 34B-22-34. Bridgett and her hubby Skeeter operate a pool and spa business on the side. Here are some excerpts from Tod Hunter's AVN article on Bridgett Kerkove: Is there anything you like to shoot? "I'd say anal sex. I don't complain about it. It's a muscle that you can train, like any other muscle in your body. For the safety of our children..." Luke: "Ok." Skeeter: "She's done a lot of feature films, on film, that haven't been released yet. She's worked with Serenity, Juli Ashton, Jenna Jameson... "She started in January, and to give you an idea about her performances, her second scene, that she did for Metro, was a sure fire pre-nom [worthy of an AVN awards nomination] and Editor's Choice... There appear to be seven or eight companies that have put her up for Best New Starlet of the Year. Everybody says that she does the best A---- scene in the business." Luke: "Wow." Skeeter: "As little as she is, she can take any guy there is, including that black guy Jack with the 16 inch dick. She can do Lexington Steele easy. I directed a scene of Lexington Steele and Earl Slate doing her in a DP [double penetration, one penis vaginally and one anally]. "Other companies have put her up for Best Anal scene, Best Group scene, for Best Actress... "She works on average five days out of every seven and sometimes she does double scenes on two different sets... Morning and night, she's constantly working. She's not a contract girl by choice. She has been offered contracts. But like Jill Kelly, she prefers to pump it out... She's making $25,000 a month. She doesn't use alcohol or drugs or go on shopping sprees... She has a fixation of saving the money. "Her and I do a couple of scenes together a month but too much husband and wife stuff isn't good. Very boring. Any woman can do a better scene for the camera than with their own husband." Skeeter and Bridget, who met while shopping have been married four years. Luke: "How did you get into porn?" Skeeter: "I just started getting ideas from all the crazy sex we did at home... That we ought to make money on it. So I bring it up to her and she's from a very conservative family... She went to Catholic school her whole life. And then, after making some phone calls, we just got into it full speed ahead." Luke: "Most people could not handle having a spouse who was a porno star." Skeeter: "I love it. That's why I pushed so hard for it. She wasn't for it at first, but the longer we're together and the more we grow together as one, and our minds open up... She said 'ok, I'll give it a try.' Then when they saw how good she could be on film, we got phone calls all the time. "She did nine scenes in five days on that Extreme Vacation for Metro. Yes, she got paid. "In 186 scenes, she has never cancelled. She's never even been late. And she always comes fully made-up, they don't even need a make-up girl. Even when she does her feature films for the big companies, she comes fully made-up." Luke: "How did you find the reality of the porn industry compared to what you expected?" Skeeter: "A lot of the people are really nice and friendly... This Bo guy is the first thorn in our side..." On Thursday, Luke and Gene Ross reported on problems Bridgett and Skeeter are having with Bo from LGI, who appears to have stolen Bridgettkerkove.com and is operating it as though it is her official site. Luke next talked to Bridgett about getting into porn. Bridgett: "At first I was thinking, how do you do it on film? A girlfriend of mine called me, it was her first time to do a girl-girl scene, for a Japanese company I don't even know the name of... And that was my first scene. And from there, I just gave other actors my phone number. Then Metro called me and it's been a whirlwind since then. "I'm kinda shy. I was scared at first... But it's so much fun. When you're clueless, it's intimidating but also exciting... "I didn't watch porn before I got into it... It seemed boring... And then I had no expectations... My husband thought most videos were boring compared to the things we'd do with each other... I think the [porn] business is wonderful. Some people have the perception that it is a bunch of crazy people who have a messed up life... I'm sure there are people with problems, but the majority of the people I've met are completely down to earth and normal people... This is their job and they have a normal life beside that." Luke: "How long do you plan to stay in the biz?" Bridgett: "As long as I can. When I first met Michael Raven, he said, 'When do you want it to end?' And I said, 'I don't.'" Luke: "Has anyone tried to pressure you to get breast implants?" Bridgett: "No, most people like it. "When I first got into the business, people said, 'go meet Jim South.' I never got around to it. And now, I'm glad I didn't because I feel why should I pay somebody money when my phone is constantly ringing. There's no need." Luke: "After doing all those scenes, it's amazing you haven't burned out." Bridgett: "People will say that... But burn out on what? It's not like I am partying and hardly getting any sleep. I do my work, have a good time, and go home. Girls and guys who burn out probably have poor money management and are partying too much." Luke: "Has your time in porn changed you?" Bridgett: "I feel more unencumbered. More free to do whatever I feel like doing." Luke: "How many of your friends know about your new career?" Bridgett: "Only a few. And they're completely supportive and think it's cool." Luke: "Most memorable experiences?" Bridgett: "The one thing that totally blew my mind was when several companies had nominated me for Best New Starlet. I about fell on the floor. Wow. They remembered me, of all the girls they shoot, they remembered me. What a wonderful, wonderful thing. A show of generosity on their part, they actually thought of me." Luke: "Is this business tough on your marriage?" Bridgett: "Oh God, you've got to be kidding. My husband is worse than me. He totally gets off on watching me do scenes. He loves it. He totally pals around with the guys that I'll be performing with... He absolutely loves this business. He thinks it is the most wonderful thing. I have to be thankful. Me and him are best friends. Kendra Jade is LGI's contract girl. Kendra says: "I love Bo to death and he has kept every promise he ever made and fufilled every aspect of my contract." BridgettKerkove.com reads thus: "Hi I'm Bridget welcome to my website. I'm always looking for some fun and what could be more fun than a good f---? Don't you agree? "I've got all kinds of pictures and movies for you to see, and I'm always adding more pics and clips every day." LGI has been phoning around production companies asking for pictures of Bridgett for this fraudulent site. Bridget told Luke and Gene Ross: "Well, last week Tyce Bune called and said this guy Bo was hounding him to start a website with him. Tyce was uneasy about it and called me. Tyce said this guy Bo says he has your website and he's putty Cherry Mirage's up. I go, 'What!!?' "I told that guy [Bo] I did not want a website with him. I talked to him one time on the location. I called up Bo and his wife answered and said, 'If you want your name back, then you're going to need to pay us.' I said I never signed anything. As a matter of fact that movie I did, I never signed a model release for. I said you guys are trying to blackmail me." Bridgett's husband Skeeter told Gene: "Our neighbor showed me the website and one of the pictures they show of Bridgett is Brick Majors doing her. There is no model release on it. I don't know who signed it and neither does Bridgett. "He [Bo] was trying to offer her drugs on the set. I directly saw it. Then we got a call about two or three hours later that night from him. He was saying would Bridgett want to go over and meet Kevin Beech, that if she goes over to keep him company for the night he'll [Beech] give her own series. I said her name's not Gina Ryder. She's not going to be his girlfriend for the week or for the month. I'm not her pimp and I can't believe you're trying to pimp her out. Then Mickey Ray heard about it and apologized to me. "Tyce Bune said he talked to Bo. Bo was trying to sell him a website saying that Skeeter and Brigett were really happy, they're making thousands of dollars a month. He didn't know that Tyce knew us. That's how we found out about all this." But what happened in the meantime, someone told them the site was up and running. The site's only been up about a week or two. This guy Skeeter called my office and gets my secretary on the phone. He goes, 'Hey, where's this m...f.... at. He drugged my wife and raped her.'" I went over to check out LGI's fraudulent Bridgett Kerkove site. There I clicked on a John Holmes banner. This took me to another LGI site www.johnnywadd.net. Big deal you say? Hopefully now that bitch will call off her lawyers on you and sic them on LGI." Skeeter: "He said that I am a terrible manager. Well, everybody knows that I am not Bridgette's manager and I am not her agent. Bridgette manages herself. She has no manager agent and never will, by her choice. "We did not ask for a $1000 cash. A guy named Cam Smith got her the job for LGI. When I spoke to him on the phone, I expressed that these people are from out of state and we don't know 'em. What if the check bounces? How do we get it if they live 3000 miles away? He responded, 'Oh, they're going to pay cash. You won't have to worry about a bounced check.' "Well, Luke, the check Bridgette received for $1200...bounced! I called up Rob Spallone and other people to get in touch with the person who gave us a bounced check. Ten days later they made the check good. "Three, he said we are evading taxes. That is impossible. We have a tax impound account and between Vivid, Wicked, Metro, Sin City, West Coast Productions, Extreme... They take taxes out of our checks. For example, out of the $7500 she earned with Metro in five days, they took out $3474 in taxes. "Four, he says that I take all of her money. I have been paying income tax since I was 14 years old and working at an icecream store. I opened up my swimming pool and spa business when I was 18 and it is still runnning today, seven days a week. I pay over $11,000 a year in property taxes. "Five, he says I have a small dick and that Brick Majors made her happy. They need to look at some of the videos Bridgette and I are in. These documents are the model release Patricia/Bridgett or "Skeeter" Kerkove signed, Patricia's HIV test and the check the Kerkoves signed and CASHED. We did redact certain info for security reasons, mainly account numbers and such. The documents are scanned from the originals we have and are saved as Adobe Acrobat files (*.pdf). You can read these files with either Adobe Photoshop or Adobe Acrobat Reader. I had a chance today to read some of what you have written about this situation, and some of the things the Kerkoves have said on your site and others. If you look and compare the signatures from the back of the check and the model release, you can see that they all seem to have been signed by the same person. Since the Kerkoves signed the model release and cashed the check I am not sure how they can maintain they weren't paid or were treated illegally in any way. The model release allows LGI to publish the pictures and video we took in any way we wish. The Kerkoves were specifically told this material would be published to the Internet, in addition to film. We also registered the bridgettkerkove.com domain legally. As far as we know Bridgett Kerkove, the name, isn't Trademarked, and therefore what we did is very legal and above board. We did not steal it. In fact "Skeeter" Kerkove told us he did not plan to use the domain because Seymore Butts told him he would earn $120,000 a year for Bridgett/Patricia being on that site. As of this writing, neither "Skeeter", nor anybody else has registered any of the other domain name variations. I categorically deny that anyone connected with the production of Late Networks Vol. 1& 2 was involved in the allegations of "rape", "drugs" or "pandering". LGI takes pride in being an honest company in the Adult Industry, and we've been at it for more than 25 years. If we had pulled any of the things we are accused of, we would not be here now. I'm sure the Government would have shut us down. We have worked with many other Top Adult Performers and Production Companies and have never had these kinds of allegations leveled at us. In addition to all this, it is company policy to ONLY pay by check or credit card for bookkeeping purposes. No one has ever been paid cash by LGI for any movie. The Kerkoves charged LGI more for their services, just because it was a check NOT cash. We are considering, on advice of counsel, bringing criminal charges against the Kerkoves for fraud and wire fraud in connection to the signing of the model release and the endorsement on the check. We hope the matter can be resolved without taking these steps, however we do have a business and reputation to protect. I also think it is sad that you portray Kendra as being intimidated by Bo. Bo is a professional, and has too much to lose by jeopardizing our company by that kind of activity. Kendra is a contract girl for LGI and we are ecstatic to have her on board. We have paid her over $8,000 and she still hasn't filmed her first scene with us. From : Gene Ross has in his position two sets of model releases signed by Bridgett Kerkove- one dated December 8, 1998; the other signed 6-23-99. Both signatures match. However the model release produced by LGI bears a signature that's totally different. Skeeter Kerkove contends all along that Bridgett never signed the release being produced by LGI, that she had asked to sign one, but was never given one because the LGI shoot directed by Jim Gunn was "disorganized". Skeeter said he and Bridgett were already on their way home when it dawned on them they never signed the release. Rob Knob supplied the 6-23-99 release and had this to say, "I saw that s--- on Luke F-rd's site. I compared them to all the signatures I have on file for her which are all identical. I'm not a handwriting expert, but it looks like somebody forged some signatures." Copies of Bridgett Kerkove's driver's license and social security card also match up to the December and June model releases but not to the LGI release. Bo Smith aka John Kenney ( bo@wwwlgi.com) writes Luke: "Thanks for putting up the copys of the model release and the cancelled check.If the kerkove's deny that one of them did not sign the model release then let call the police next week when I'm there and start a case as to who forged the check and model release I will be happy to take our case to the crinimal court system if we must defend our selves lets do it where it counts.I know that no one connected to me or my company forged any thing on that check or model release and that the only signature's on that check belong to one of the kerkove's."
11/30/99 Mrs Kerkove Comes To Los Angeles John Kenney aka Bo Smith, owner of LGI, writes : "Dear Gene, please forgive LGI for not sending you the the copy's of the check and model release first. This is the first time we have had something like this happen to LGI our mistake." Gene had bullied Bo about not sending a response and pictures to him first, rather than to me and Gene at the same time. AVN frequently bullies porners to give them the scoop before (or instead of) giving it to me. John writes further to Gene: "The signature on the back of the check and the signature on the model release match however they also look like skeeter's signature on the back of the check. Face the truth she got paid to get laid. "Skeeter forged the model release and the signature on the back of the check. If skeeter and bridgett deny that this is not true I will come into avn's office and you can call the police and they can tell their story, and we will supply our evidence to the police.The kerkove are being deceitful and are lying, do they deny that they cashed the check. do they deny that the money went into arland d kerkove's acct. did she sign her name to the check .Who forged it on the check." Luke asked Skeeter Kerkove, Bridgett's husabnd, about this Monday afternoon and he had no comment. The Kerkove's, who originally raised the controversy, now want it to die down. Skeeter Kerkove: "If I comment on that, then I'm starting stuff up again. I was highly advised to let this thing die down. They know that if they want a model release, all they have to do is send it and it will be notarized and signed. We don't want no money from nobody unless Bridgett goes out and does a scene and earns it." John Kenney, however, does not want the matter to die down until he and his company have been cleared of all charges of wrongdoing. After getting blindsided on the matter last week, John has fought back with photos, documentation and detailed answers to tough questions, to regain his credibility. John's company LGI operates web sites for about 40 porners and has not suffered from this kind of controversy before. A person's reputation, ironically, means everything in the insular world of pornography. Yes, even porners, have an honor code. Especially porners have an honor code. Pro writes: "Of course the Kerkoves would like the whole LGI/Kerkove debacle to die down. It was a gross tactical error on their part from the very beginning. As relative newcomers to the adult business, the Kerkoves most likely don't have a knowledgeable grasp of "Who's Who" in the Porn World: Especially the Porn World beyond the West San Fernando Valley. If they had, they most likely would not have antagonized someone as closely connected to powerful people (in this business) as Bo, and LGI. I'm guessing, but Skeeter probably pegged Bo as just another, 'wannabe,' one-stop owner from back East itching to get into the production side. Most likely, they correctly assessed Jim Gunn as a small-time, East Coast hack, and no doubt, this negatively impacted their opinion of Bo and LGI. But unfortunately for the Kerkoves, Bo has close and powerful long-time friends. They include, most notably: David Sturman of GVA, Kevin Beech of Erotic Angel, and quite a few more, influential, company owners. This 'bad call' on the Kerkove's part is certainly impacting Bridgette Kerkove's bookings (200 scenes in one year aside) and indeed, her future in this business. It's always wise for newcomers to understand that this business is made up of a close-knit comraderie of long-time players. And in spite of the what sometimes seems like 'relationships-at-odds,' the bottom line is that this 'club' exists almost exclusively on personal relationships." Kenney flies in to Los Angeles (from his home in Washington D.C.) on Thursday. His contract girl Kendra Jade jumps in front of the camera Saturday. On December 6th, she goes in for extensive plastic surgery, including getting her breasts redone, and liposuction. Luke talked Monday afternoon with Skeeter Kerkove who goes into court Friday to gain final custody of the rest of his children (from a first marriage). Skeeter: "From an ex-wife who's done death threats in front of the bailiff and the Department of Family Services... That's how bold and crazy she is. "We don't even own a computer. We share one cell phone and one pager. I've had it for five years. We do everything we can to not spend money. "We don't even want to talk about it anymore. Things are getting so blown out of proportion. There's so much going back and forth, so no comment. I hope that doesn't offend you." Luke: "As a writer, I love the vicious charges back and forth. It makes for dramatic reading. But as a human being, I think that keeping quiet and letting the thing blow over is in your interest." Skeeter: "We just want it to die down. We've never had anything like this before and it is so scary. We're just focusing on her career and getting my children from a previous relationship. My poor children had to go through a lot with their mother. My two younger children were being very neglected and when the Department of Children Services came in from our call, they found them in a severely neglected home that was horrid... So they took my children and gave them to me, instead me just getting to visit them every other weekend. "Anyone who knows us knows that we don't drink alcohol or do drugs... We're home every night in bed, unless Bridgett has to work. No shopping sprees and no fancy dinners. "We're not sue happy people. We don't want no problems with nobody. We wish this never happened. I need to remember to stay in focus and be a mature husband and father... "Bridgett will make her goal of 200 [sex] scenes by December 31st. She's done 191 now. No one has ever done that before, 200 [sex] scenes in less than a year. "Bridgett is just a great mom and a great wife. And definitely my best friend. She loves to cook. She's cooking all the time. She's always dusting and vacuuming and doing the laundry, then ironing it. Making sure that we're all getting enough to eat. And giving us our vitamins in the morning.
