Amber Lynn

Born 9/3/63, Amber began her career in 1984 and worked in over 150 movies until 1988, including Let's Get It On With Amber Lynn and Dreamgirls.

A fixture on the exotic dance circuit, Lynn commands up to $25,000 per week for stripping five times a day.

"I'm a professional erotic dancer," Amber says on her web page provided by the mobbed-up strip chain Crazy Horse. "I do what I do very well. I work hard on my show. I live, sleep, eat and breathe my bookings. It's hard work. This to me is not a game or a joke. I am always thinking about working or my next gig."

Aside from her feud with Christy Canyon, Amber is liked and respected in Porn Valley. Directors found her easy to work with except when she had dialogue, which was difficult for her and frequently demanded many takes.

The Melanie Griffith lookalike met Jamie Gillis on the set of Ten Little Maidens. Amber's untimely demise had to be written into the script on the fly when she left because the dialogue was too intense. The body seen floating in the pool belonged to the wardrobe lady, not Amber.

Amber lived for years with Jamie, and he educated her in the finer points of on-screen sex. The pair were as hot off-screen as on, as tales circulated about their trips to porno theaters where they did it live while their films played above.

Lynn's had more plastic surgery than anyone says AFW. She kept her hair cropped short during her performing years, "leaving her expressive, full-mouthed face to be shot in all its glory."

Amber lost a parent at an early age. After becoming an adult, she had a "sugar daddy who kept me. Paid for everything. I didn't need a dime of my own money and never had to work. Then his wife found out and he ran back to her, breaking it off with me. I was out in the cold. Then a friend of his asked me if I was interested in masturbating on video. During the summer of 1996, Amber moved in with pornographer Frank Marino. They announced plans of producing films together but the ideas came to naught when they broke up.

Lynn doesn't apologize for her sex work. "You're talking about a business that has been around as long as anybody can remember. It's certainly not harmful. What's the big deal? They fought and fought against X-rated films for years. They got nowhere. Now adult actresses are crossing over into the strip market. So, they're going after strippers now. I don't see the big deal. I think it's just like finding another thing to find fault with as an excuse for why society has so many problems."

Amber tours with $50,000 worth of wardrobe, enough custom outfits to do 45 shows without repeating a costume.

When not on the road, Lynn claims she leads a quiet life. She spends several hours a day in the gym and the rest of the day working on her businesses. Her little Maltese dog keeps her company. During 1997, gossip swirled around the San Fernando Valley about Amber's drug and alcohol problems. The 12/97 issue of AVN reported that she'd been arrested for Driving Under the Influence.
