Lauren Phoenix On Dov Charney and American Apparel

Gene Ross, Lauren and I speak Thursday on set with Defiance Films.

Lauren, 26, says she never dated Dov. "He was a fan of mine. He loved my personality. He'd see it in BTS (Behind The Scenes footage) or just my character Lauren Phoenix. I'm pretty much myself 100% of the time. I'm not putting on any act. He just liked my no-holds-barred f----like-wild go-in-there-and-have-a-good-time and do crazy and enthusiastic scenes. He just really appreciated that.

"BTS is only where fans can see my true personality unless it's at conventions but my time there is always limited."

Lauren entered porn just over two years ago. "I was a dancer for about three-and-a-half years (in Canada (she grew up in Toronto) as well as Las Vegas and England). I've done most of my scenes (about 200) here in California.

"In England, they're not big tippers, but the money there is good. I danced in Stringfellows in London. Everybody everywhere likes strippers. Age plays more of a difference in the reaction to strippers than the place. Older men are gentlemen. They're more interested in having company and discussing things. They really want to get to know you. I love that. I learn a lot about people. That's one thing that made me want to get into porn so that I could learn about different people and meet different people. I've always been a big traveler. When I was a stripper, they all came to me, so I could learn about a lot of different places without going there.

"In Canada, I had to break a lot of balls. They're crazy over there."

Lauren Phoenix goes off on a rant about herself for not showing up yesterday with a valid HIV test (it was a day late). She pretends that she's AIM answering the phone about Lauren: "Don't use her! She's a dirty whore!"

I ask Kelly if Jenna Haze looks like a 13 or 14-year old girl. Kelly says more like 15.

Lauren describes a hot-looking Marine who repeatedly hit on her at the gym. While she appreciated his efforts towards keeping the world safe, she "doesn't give it away for free."

Phoenix says she's never been with more than six guys at once. That's it.

Lauren prescribes herbal remedies for all sorts of ailments. She spreads on fish oil when she works out because it supposedly helps get rid of fat. She has a protein drink in her purse. "Thirty five grams," she says. "Only two grams of sugar."

Duke: "Are you a frustrated doctor?"

Lauren: "No. I just like helping people. People in California think this is the most absurd thing ever because people here just look out for themselves. But in Canada, we look out for each other."

Duke: "Did you get into the porn industry so you could help people?"

Lauren laughs: "No. Maybe a little. I just wanted to do a fun job where I could meet people and travel and... Please don't take photographs of me with this. Evidence."

It seems like every other girl I meet in porn claims to have a medical marijuana license.

Lauren Phoenix Interview
2003-10-08 10:18:42
From www.hardcoregossip.com, interview by DCypher:

If you read the site, you already know this. For those of you just joining us, welcome. For those of you living under a rock for the last six months, Lauren Phoenix is so unbelievably hot that she melts the screen when she f-cks. Here is what she had to say:

How old are you?
L: Twenty four.

How long have you been in the business?
L: Seven months now I think.

Seven months? I can't believe it's been that long.
L: I know. Time flies.

What are your measurements?
L: I'm thirty six B, but I don't know anything else. I'm five ten.

What's your shoe size?
L: Ten.

Ten? Those are big feet for a girl. Are you sure?
L: Yes. [She laughs] I'm a ten.

How did you get in the business?
L: I stripped for three years, before I got into porn.

Where? Where are you from?
L: Toronto Canada.

So you stripped in Toronto?
L: Actually I stripped in surrounding areas, around and near Toronto, because I didn't want anyone to recognize me where I was from. Places like Windsor.

How old were you when you started stripping?
L: I was twenty.

Isn't the legal age for stripping sixteen up there?
L: Yes. I couldn't do that. I went to school before I started dancing.

Where did you go to school?
L: University of Western Ontario.

What did you study?
L: Music.

What kind of music do you do?
L: I was studying classical music but I sang jazz and blues and stuff like that. I'm a singer.

So you came down to Los Angeles and got into porn. How did it happen? Was it something you had been thinking about for a long time?
L: Obviously I like sex, a lot, or I wouldn't have gotten in, but it was a while between when I first researched it and I actually got in. My boyfriend and I, we were both bored one day and we wanted to find new ways of making money, so we were f-cking around on the internet. That's how the whole thing started. We were thinking of starting an internet porn company and it just snowballed from there. We didn't really know what we were doing. We went broke. Then we went to Europe for a while and eventually we ended up in Vegas.

What were you doing out there?
L: I was dancing but I lost my job because I was dancing illegally.

What club were you at in Vegas?
L: Tally Ho.

What happened next?
L: So I lost my job and we decided it's time to go to California. We thought we could do scenes and maybe make a little money. I found World Modeling and we signed up and did some scenes and met Ed Powers.

Was that the first person you worked for?
L: Yes. I worked for Ed Powers.

Who'd you work with? Ed Powers?
L: I worked with Ed Powers first, then he gave me the chance to work with my boyfriend later on.

Did he pay you big money? I hear he does that.
L: Ed is very generous.

What do you do on film?
L: Boy girl, girl girl, anal.

Do you do double penetration?
L: Yes sure. Interracial, of course. My boyfriend is black.

Who are some of the people you've worked for since?
L: I love working for everybody.

Is there one experience that stands out for you?
L: I don't know. I don't want to leave anybody out. I can say that I like gonzo but I want to do more features. I like learning lines and practicing my role. I'm learning now. I've been practicing.

So who have you worked with on a feature recently?
L: I just did one for VCA.

Yeah? Who was the director?
L: Bruce was directing that one. Jim Malibu was there. I'm doing one for Jim tomorrow. I like working for Nick Steel Productions or Ultimate. Kick Ass was good to me. New Sensations has been awesome to me.

Who were some of the male performers you've worked with that you've had really good experiences with? I know that you love everybody.
L: I can't say. I don't want to leave anyone out. I've worked with some great people.

I know, but, who were some of those people you had really good experiences with?
L: Like Manuel Ferrara and Tony Ribas.

I hear good things about both of those guys.
L: And Eric Everhard is great. Lee Stone is great. Randy Spears is great. Julian is great.

What's the weirdest thing you've ever done?
L: What do you mean?

In porn. What's the craziest thing or weirdest scene you've ever had to do?
L: I'd have to say doing a gang bang with my man.

How many guys were there?
L: Altogether, there were four. That's the most I've ever done at one time.

Who was that for?
L: That was for a website.

Were all the guys black?
L: Yeah.

Was it like blacks on blondes dot com?
L: I think it was the gang bang squad. That was the weirdest experience I've ever had in my life. I don't think I'll ever do anything like that again. I got honey poured all over me onceÖthat was really f-cked up.

Who was that for?
L: Alex Sanders. I think it was called MAKE MY BUTT CUM PLEASE or something like that. Byron Long and Billy Banks poured honey all over me. It felt really good. That was a DP scene.

Do you have any fantasies left, now that you're in porn, that you haven't had the chance to fulfill?
L: I don't know. I think I'd like to f-ck a guy in the ass. I had a chance recently but I wasn't able to take the person up on it, though. I'd like to put on a strap-on and f-ck some guy up the ass.

On film or off film?
L: On film.

Is there anything you save for off film, that is only for you and your man?
L: No, because, there isn't anything I wouldn't do for him. He could ask me to tie a fish to my head, stand on my head, do cartwheelsÖI mean I'll do anything for him, especially for him. But I'm a nasty slut. I do it all.

Anything?
L: Well, I wouldn't do a bisexual threeway or midgets. I've been asked to do midgets. Not that I have a problem with midgets but I'm so big that it would seem like being with a child. I can't imagine it. I would be laughing the whole time. I had to do a scene with a guy who had to pretend he was retarded the whole time and that was hard.

Where can your fans reach you?
L: My website is not up yet, but hopefully, one day it will be. It will be my name. Lauren Phoenix dot com.
