My server can't always handle the traffic my photo galleries attract. That's why my blog has been down so much the past month.

I have a solution coming but not for a few weeks.

It's my first night out with my new camera -- the Nikon D 200.

I arrive to the club Privilege (8117 Sunset Blvd) at 8:30 p.m. I caught an Evil Angel party here three months ago and a birthday party for April Storm about a year ago.

Compared to porn parties, Hollywood parties are more professional. The publicists and their assistants tend to be better looking than 98% of porn stars. There's more media.

ManiaTV, a new website, broadcasts live from the club with Dave Navarro serving as the principal host (assisted by Cross-Eyed Megan).

10:30 p.m. As I'm taking photos of Mary Carey, a lovely blonde (Claire) taps me on the shoulder and says she and her friends to meet me when I have time.

It takes me five seconds to find the time.

My chat with Joel Stein (Los Angeles Times), Claire Hoffman (Portfolio Magazine) and Dana Goodyear (New Yorker) is my highlight of Tuesday evening.

I've had a thing for Claire for a year. What's not to love about a beautiful young blonde with a graduate degree in religion who writes about porn?

Hoffman blogs for Portfolio magazine:

Much about Captivity, with a plot that centers on the torture of a hot model, has seemed a little like we've seen a lot of it before. The film hits theaters this Friday the 13th, and comes on the heels of the box office washout of Eli Roth's Hostel II. Toward the end of the night, Solomon, who stood watching as a pale and bare chested man was suspended from a rack by pins in his flesh, ruminated on what might be the sunset of the torture-porn genre. "It's at the end of a movie cycle," he said. "This is like a party for the end."

Kate Coe blogs:

The MPAA not only is responsible for movie ratings, but also functions as a neighborhood decoration police force. Or at least for the corner of Sunset Blvd. and Laurel, where Privilege is located. Seems the Captivity party planners had thriftily used those left-over billboards to wrap the outside of the building for the much-anticipated event.

At 6:30 Tuesday evening, producer Courtney Soloman got a call from Marilyn Gordon who threatened to pull the film's rating if the offensive images were not removed. So, the sheets were pulled down and wrapped around various interiors of the club. He told FBLA that he's expecting a call early Wed. morning from the MPAA.

At 11 p.m., we're asked to take our cameras outside. I leave.

Kate Coe blogs:

The "torture rooms" were about as shocking as a Tri-Delt slumber party. Fake dead pigs don't really freak us out very much anymore. Moscow's Hungry Duck club--the real one, financed by the Russian Mafia--was the inspiration for the set dressing, and since the film was financed by Russian money, there's a theme. Ken Davitian fit right in, as did Dave Navarro.

The publicist sent out this guest list (and most of them came): "Alexis Thorpe (Days of Our Lives/Young & the Restless), Ali Costello (Believers Among Us/ Shamelove/ Bottoms Up), Alicia Arden (General Hospital/ Prison of the Dead/ Wanna Be Me!), Angela Kinsey (The Office/ License to Wed / Career Suicide),  Audioclub (Interscope Recording Artists), Bai Ling,  Barbara Nedeljakova (Hostel), Bas Rutten (MMA Legend and former UFC heavyweight Champ), Brandon Molale (Mr Deeds/ Dodgeball/ Longest Yard), Brendan Miller (Super Sweet 16/ Accepted/ The Last Day of Summer/ Street Dreams), Brian Baumgartner ( The Office/ License to Wed /  Moosecock /  No. 6), Bridgetta Tomarchio (Dawson's Creek/ The West Wing/ Wanted: Ted or Alive), Cerina Vincent (Cabin Fever/ CSI/ Toxic), Chris Carney (The Prom King’s/ MTV’s 24-7),  Christa Campbell (Wikcer Man/ Lonley Hearts/ Mozart and Self), Christian Slater, Christopher Marquette (The Girl Next Door/ Another World/ Freddy vs. Jason), Daniel Gillies (Captivity/ Spiderman 2), Danielle Harris (Halloween), Dave Navarro (host), Dave Schulz (Musician/ Goo Goo Dolls), Dave Denman (The Office/ Big Fish / The Replacements / When a Stranger Calls), David Fralick  (Uncle Sam / The Young and the Restless / Soultaker), Elisha Cuthbert (Captivity/ Girl Next Door/ House of Wax), Eva Longoria (Harsh Times / The Sentinel / Carlita's Secret), Hannah Cornett (Surfer Dude.
