Every time I walk down Sunset or Hollywood Blvds, particularly at night, I feel that the world is a scary place. Everything around me seems unkosher, from the restaurants to the people, from the sodomites to the transgendered.

I wonder if I am alone in my fears? I asked Tod Hunter and photographer J.R. at the Adam & Eve Surrender of O bondage party Thursday night and found I was very much alone.

My evening began on a mellow note -- at the LA Weekly screening of The U.S. vs. John Lennon. It's a polemical documentary in favor of Lennon. I sat next to pigs masquerading as young men. They ate loudly and rocked in their seats, passing their buckets of popcorn back and forth.

I wondered if people would be better behaved at a documentary on Dennis Prager?

Is is a surprise that a documentary about a man who rebelled against traditional morality would attract a scruffy crowd?

Daniel Metcalf emails: "Are you thinking of Lennon or Lenin? I haven't seen the documentary you're citing, but even a casual read of "Lennon Remembers" (not a true autobiography per se, but a collection of Rolling Stone magazine interviews) leaves the astute reader with a distinct picture of a doting father and devoted husband who happened to write some of the greatest songs of the Sixties and Seventies."

I fled an hour into the film for the tranquility and purity of The Submission of O party.

One porn girl didn't want me to take her picture. She objected to things I'd published about her on this site. She wondered if my misogyny flowed from my Republican values.

"Why do you think I'm misogynistic?" I asked.

"Because on your site you portray women as stupid and inane."

"Do you think the women I interview could be stupid and inane?"

"Perhaps. But why do you focus on them? You're a cool guy in person, Luke, but your site..."

After my intense interviews Wednesday afternoon, after the life-changing conversations I had with these fallen women, I figured that I would find a glint in the eyes of my Penthouse girls Thursday night.

You can look at the pictures above and judge for yourself the impact I made on their lives.

If I could just touch one life, it would be like saving an entire world.

DuckHunt writes on XPT: "I looked at the rest of Luke's pictures and it seems a lot of girls are checking out. And people are suprised at sagging dvd sales?"

Hmm writes: "Renee Diaz is my pick for next Penthouse Pet to go hardcore. She looks good in her scenes. She's a natural."

I was not feeling so good so I only stayed for 40 minutes and didn't have a chance to talk to my friend Lainie Speiser, the Penthouse publicist.

She emails me from New York Sep. 20:

You and me both. I was running 102 fever the day before I left for LA and I was shaky the entire time. Thursday night I hadn't eaten anything in about 15 hours, was hopped on cold medicine and red bull and vodka. My cousin Danny showed up to the party towards the end and I barely recall it or him (I hadn't seen him since I was 23) but I have flashes of seeing the look on his face while all the girls were cuddled around me and kissing each other. That should keep my black sheep rep in tact.

LA is just crazy, much crazier than NYC but a lot slower too. How do you guys not go out of your mind with that ridiculous traffic? Its just maddening that no matter what time it is it still takes you two hours to get to point a to point b.

Also funny, LA is a haven for drugs and prostitution, all very very out in the open and ho-ing and tweaking abound! All the parties I went to were filled with gorgeous women and mediocre looking men but I guess they all had money which in LA is more important than looks.

What I loved. There's a lot of leniency concerning smoking grass everywhere, the stuff is top notch, kicks ass over NYC and there were also a ton more cigarette smokers in LA than in NY and thus a lot more outdoor clubs/bars.
