Stripdown Magazine sponsored a party entitled 'Porn Star Evolution' hosted by Adam and Eve contract star Austyn Moore on August 3, 2005 at the Miracle Mile venue, The Conga Room. Porn stars turned out in force for the wonderful event. Nikki Benz, Tera Patrick, and Lucy Lee arrived first and made the paparrazzi go crazy snapping photos. Mofowear girls, Katrina Kraven, Olivia O'Lovely, Flower Tucci, and Mofo himself made a dramatic entrance closely followed by Missy Monroe and Kat. I see Christian (stands 6'5" with a shaved head) on the couch. The TV plays Comcast's Reggae station.
Christian, 31 (he worked as a highschool teacher -- U.S. History, Goverment, assistant basketball coach -- for three years in a small town in Texas, he was the only unmarried teacher, "it was a rough life"), talks to his agent Derek at LADirectModels about his second scene later in the day.
I've driven for 50-minutes. I'm hot and cranky and desperate to get content. I get Christian to give me an interview.
He says that as a kid in Texas he wanted to become a school teacher when he grew up. His parents were teachers. His dad had a PhD in Bio-Chemistry from Harvard.
Christian played college basketball and got two undergraduate degrees (History and Education, and a Minor in Political Science).
Duke: "How did you get into this?"
Christian: "I was bored being a teacher and decided to move to Vegas and one thing led to another.
"I dated a girl who used to be in the business, Lovette. She took me to the Nightmoves Tampa Show in [September] 2000. I did some amateur stuff. We had an orgy with Anna Malle and her husband, Serena Lee... I knew I could do it. I met some people."
Christian speaks in a slow Texan drawl.
"When I lived in Las Vegas, I worked at a nightclub at the Venetian. I was a host. The dude's who wear suits and stand out front and don't let you in. I decided to make extra cash by doing scenes. I wandered around AVN a couple of years ago and told everybody that if they needed a guy, to give me a chance. I started slow and worked my way up. I've done about 250 scenes.
"For a year, I was living in Vegas and coming out here and doing scenes part-time. In January of 2005, I moved to LA and I work every day."
Duke: "Why the shaved head?"
Christian: "I do triathlons, so I shave my whole body. I've run 15 marathons (with times near four hours). I did two Ironmans (swim 2.4 miles, bike 112 miles, and a 26.2 mile run, his times were around 13 hours). I'm 235 pounds, so running is brutal."
Duke: "Why do you want to stay in porn?"
Christian: "The lifestyle. The people and the hours and the money."
Duke: "Why did you leave teaching?"
Christian: "I was so bored. I lived in a town of 25,000 people. The head coach was married and had two kids and was very religious. Every summer I'd work as a bouncer in nightclubs in Dallas or San Antonio. One summer I said, I'm 26 and single in the prime of my life, I'm going to Vegas for the summer. I got out there and never came back.
"My family is religious. Catholics. They know [he does porn]. They're not very happy. My dad's a retired colonel. Very successful. My parents are cool. As long as I'm happy, I guess. Obviously they're upset. They're dealing with it. I don't flaunt it. I downplay it as much as I can. My brother outed that to them.
"My middle brother lived in Japan for a few years. He loves Asian girls. He wants to know what Charmaine Star is like. I work for DVSX. They have a whole Asian line. I have to snag some videos for him so I can mail them to him in Spain.
"I got in this business because of the girls. This is such a fun job. I get to work with people I watched as a fan. Obviously, dating Lovette, I like a lot of the old-school girls. If I could've been in porn ten years ago, I would've died. Girls like Kaitlyn Ashley, Nikki Tyler... I got to work with Jesse Jane and Devon on the same day. How do you have a better day than that in this business?
"Lowlights? I don't have many. I'm a low-key guy. I don't get upset. This is such a good life."
Christian was a contract player for Falcon Pictures, a famous gay porn company, under the name Maxx Diesel. He's also done some Female-to-Male strap-on stuff for Joey Silvera such as Strap Attack 1 and 2.
Christian: "When I first moved to Vegas, I was messing around online looking for ways to get into the business as early as 2001. I came across Chi Chi LaRue. All I knew was that he directed for Vivid. I sent him an email and said I'd love to be in one of your movies. He replied, unless you live in LA, you can't do that. But I also direct for this company [Falcon]. They offered me good money. They flew me out for the whole weekend. They put me up in a hotel. I didn't know anything like that.
"From dating Lovette, we'd always jacked around with vibrators and stuff, so it wasn't a big deal as far as what I had to do. I was thinking that for that money I could do anything. So I did one. They really liked it. They wanted to sign me to do five more for a year [until January 2003]. For each one, they offered me more money.
"Looking back, I probably shouldn't have done it, knowing that this was going to be my career now. I didn't have a bad experience with it. Those are good people and they treated me really well.
"By the time I had done seven movies, I'd learned about the inside of the business and got into it. It was a transition."

Paycom demanded that Meatholes (Kahn Tusion) withdraw some of its most violent and degrading content or the credit card processor said it would abandon the site. Meatholes complied but has decided to stop adding new content to the site. Paycom processes about 5,000 customers a month for meatholes.

Dean Sussman introduces me to Kirk Brown, who has just returned from his second tour of duty as a "certified protection specialist" to American engineers in Iraq. "The first time I went (April 2004) was after four Blackwater security contractors were killed in Falluja. I was a security contractor on quick reaction forces to protect the power plants being built for the reconstruction of Iraq.
"I'm a former Marine. I did eight years. I was in an elite unit.
"I'm a bodyguard by trade. I had over 600 hours of training by the Secret Service.
"One of those four guys who was killed was a friend of mine (Scott Helvenston). I was the bodyguard to the Japanese president of Sony in Mexico but I left because I thought I could make a difference in Iraq.
"The first trip I was on a quick reaction force. If anything happened, we'd get a call, leave our compound, and suppress [the enemy].
"Then I worked for another company [in Iraq] in 2004. I protected the project management personnel. They'd get the contracts to rebuild Iraq. I did that for three months. Came back for a few months and then went back for seven months.
"We were stationed outside of Fallujah, a very hostile area. We took a lot of hits, a lot of rockets, firefights.
"When the engineers wanted to go somewhere, I would be in charge of the convoy.
"The first time [in Iraq], I was expecting a lot worse. The second time, in the last few months, it got really hot.
"The Iraqis can't shoot straight.
"The news media aren't showing the good parts, the reconstruction parts. The water that is reflowing, the electricity we put together, the buildings we rebuilt. All they're showing is the bombs and the people getting killed."

Xotic Studios Relocates
Xotic Studios is relocating.
I spoke to Josh, Nicki Hunter's husband. And contrary to some of the reports out there, the studio is not closing down. "We're moving the studio to a new location," says Josh. "We have temporarily closed. This is for a month. We didn't have a run in so much but the guy who's our landlord at the building we're at now- he owns the batting cages. And his business has been falling off big time now that his clients are realizing what we do on our side. He didn't ask us to leave or anything but I don't want to cause him problems. So we've got another building that's air conditioned and way bigger. It's kind of a good excuse, so we're going to be moving in that building."
The new location will be announced shortly but Josh says it's a quarter of a mile from the present Xotic Studios located on Nordhoff off of DeSoto.

Rusty Nails left Las Vegas because he was burglarized three times. For the past few months, he's been living in Jim South's Northridge rental house for porn stars. Duke: "Why did you become a dancer?"
Kelsey: "I like attention."
Kelsey says her older sister wants to come to LA to do porn. "She only does girl-girl and anal because she's a lesbian. She's married [to a woman]. She'll only do anal [with her wife].

Duke: "How did you sisters get into [stripping]?"

LFP's Head Of Production Marc Kramer Vs. Kimberly Kane And Her Boyfriend Jack The Zipper
Friday, July 31st. Marc Kramer was shooting a movie (starring Jessica Jaymes) at the Hustler studio. Kimberly Kane showed up to the set. She was not invited by Kramer. He didn't believe she had any business being at the studio.
Kramer asked her what she was doing there. She said she was there to talk to Haley Page who was in make-up. Kramer told Kimberly to leave the set.
A few hours later, Kimberly sent emails to LFP's head of sales saying Kramer was rude and abusive.
Marc notified his directors not to use her:
To all- You are not to use Kimberly Kane in any of your shows. If you decide to hire her, you will no longer direct for the company. Thank you. Marc
Kramer has been shooting movies for seven years (for Digital Playground, Zero Tolerance, Third Degree Films, Colossal Entertainment, Vivid, Tera Vision, Adam & Eve and CDI) and says he has a good reputation. He says he's never been fired.
I emailed Kramer for comment on the below emails. He had no comment.
I asked around the industry about Kramer. I was told he was tightly wound and combustible.
One source friendly to Kramer writes: "Kramer is blunt, but he's a man of his word. He hates bulls---. Jack the Zipper is a pretentious, whiny bulls--- artist whose panties are in a bunch because his porn-whore gf got put in her place. Go back to art school, Jack the Hack."

I hear you've been fired from a long list of companies for these kinds of manipulations....you represent what needs to be weeded out of this industry....and you should realize that unlike you...kimberly kane is a vital and very well respected professional in this business....and we have a lot of methods at our disposal to bring this out in the open... you're obviously no gentlemen...and now you've made it my business to expose this nonsense once and for all...I'll be happy to discuss this further with you in person....

As a child, Nikita wanted to be a teacher. By age 12, she wanted to be a model. "I used to read a lot of fashion magazines like Vogue or Elle or Seventeen.
"I wasn't tall enough [she's 5'4], so I knew that fashion was out of the question.
"I was going to Boise State University. There was a photographer looking to create a portfolio. He paid $25 an hour. We experimented and learned together.

IRS Joins The Federal Government Crackdown On Porn?
Along with the rigorous revisions to the 2257 regulations (making sure porn performers are of legal age), and the April ICE (US Immigration and Customs Enforcement) bust of Exotica-2000, porners tell me that the IRS is joining the battle against porn.
An additional reason that foreign talent without greencards can no longer work in America porn is that the IRS is paying closer attention to porn company payrolls.
It used to be that a foreign girl, say a Nikita Denise-type, could use a fake social security number when she fills out her 1099 tax form and get a check for her scenes. Or, the production company would pay her agent who would then pay the actress through his corporation. But agents, as of July 2005, are no longer doing this.
When the industry was more underground, a lot of people got paid in cash. These days, companies increasingly use payroll companies (which require authentic documentation) and talent typically get checks a week or two after working.
Most foreign porn talent come over on tourist visas and then stay for weeks and months to work illegally in America.
Several foreign porn girls, such as Holly Wellin and Luccia, have married Americans to begin the process of being able to work legally in the US. Just marrying an American doesn't do the trick. There's a lot more paperwork and interviews that one must go through.

Foreign talent doesn't need a 'Greencard' ( permanent residence card ) per se to work in American porn. A working employment authorization card is enough, plus American IDs and SSN (Social Security Number), which as a foreigner you can only obtain if you successfully applied for an employment authorization and got a card issued by INS.
On your SSN card it will say "valid for work only with INS authorization," which is the EA. All sorts of VISAs ( Es and H1s mainly used by us porners ) as well as the 'adjustment of family status' can lead to the INS issuing an EA (Employment Authorization) card. VISAs, unlike Greencard, are issued by an embassy ABROAD. That's why people in porn still have them.

I don't question whether there's a blurring of pornography and mainstream cinema going on these days. But I think the blur needs to be put into perspective: It ain't the porn people who are blurring the dividing line, it's the mainstream cinema people.

Internext and AVN Expo 2006 On The Same Dates
Both shows (Internext Jan 5-7, AEE Jan 5-8) are at the Venetian.
The official word from AVN is that it is better for the industry overall. People will be able to go back and forth between shows even though the shows are different.
The real story is that there were no dates available anywhere in town immediately after AEE and to run them consecutively; AVN would have to start Internext on Jan. 2. So rather than move the dates, AVN did the best they could. This arrangement of simultaneous shows may become permanent.

You can get the cheapest for at TI for a bit over a $1000 for 4 days. I don't feel that they care about webmasters at all, because they should have gotten Internext booked immediately after the last one concluded. Internext is invaluable to webmasters, because you get the opportunity to put a face to a name and, most importantly, spend time with people to get a feel for their personalities, how they present themselves in real life, etc, before you do business with them. Online, its hard to do that and that is why so many people get scammed. Hopefully, this wretched scheduling is not permanent. It is simply not fair to the Internet half of the industry.
Derek From LADirectModels.com Takes Jim South To Lunch
Derek initiated the meeting. Porn's two leading talent agents had a respectful lunch a few days ago. The main item under discussion was the new 2257 regulations that prevent American porn companies from hiring foreigners as talent (unless the talent have a green card to work and reside in the U.S.).
Derek has been getting some of his foreign talent American IDs by taking them down to the DMV (Department of Motor Vehicles) and getting them IDs. I don't know of any other talent agents who have followed Derek's lead in this regard as many are skeptical that it will circumvent the new regulations.
