Beat the Devil

2003-08-06 23:18:56

The party is called for 8PM. I arrive at 8:15. I see about 30 people wandering around downstairs.

I see Joone, co-owner of Digital Playground.

Luke: "Where's Samantha [Lewis, other co-owner]?"

Joone points to the right: "She's over there."

Luke: "Thanks."

I walk over to Sam, who I haven't spoken to in months. She's busy in another conversation. There are several other tall slender blondes in the club who look vaguely like her. I never end up talking to Sam.

About 250 people come total. The premiere of the Robby D movie gets a big reception. The audience laughs loudly many times and most of them stay in their seats for the duration of the 90-minute movie.

I wander around trying to pick up news.

I hear Jesse Jane has a boyfriend but Adella at Digital denies this.

I hear the old feud between Jim South (World Modeling) and Reb Sawitz (Pretty Girl International) has reignited. Reb has been operating out of his home in North Hollywood for the past couple of years. Now he's ready to move in above Sharon Mitchell's AIM operation. He's already signed a lease and is set to go.

Jim South does not like this. He's offered to pay Reb money not to do this. Reb did not take him up on the offer.

So Jim is thinking of developing an alternative to AIM. Jim is thinking of telling his talent not to test at AIM.

Metro contract director Pat Myne is now with Stormy, Wicked contract girl. They were both dumped on the same day. Pat by Brittany Foster and Stormy by Brad Armstrong.

Stormy and Brad reportedly remain on good terms and talk regularly. Stormy has moved out from Brad and has her own place. The other day, she was reading Chicken Soup for the Horse Lover's Soul and it made her cry. "I read two of them [stories] and I had to stop."

Luke: "You were balling because this was displaced emotion from?"

Stormy: "Because I have horses."

Luke: "No. It was because you broke up with Brad."

Stormy: "My horses don't remind me of Brad."

Luke: "Yeah they do."

Stormy: "No, they reminded me of my dead horse. That is all."

Luke: "What's next for you?"

Stormy: "I have a Penthouse layout coming out. I'm shooting a movie, the third one that I wrote and starred in. Michael Raven is directing."

Luke: "Will it be awkward when Brad Armstrong directs you?"

Stormy: "Absolutely not. He called me a few minutes ago."

Luke: "Did he yell at you and abuse you?"

Stormy: "Never. Not once."

Luke: "Is it awkward for you to come around the Wicked offices now?"

Stormy: "I'm there every day, at his desk, on his computer."

Luke: "Do you still live with him?"

Stormy: "No. I have my own place. But you're looking for dirt and there isn't any. Brad was very good for me."

Luke: "You didn't cry when he broke up with you?"

Stormy: "Absolutely I did. Wouldn't you? If you broke up with me, you'd cry too. But it wasn't any big horrible fight. Neither one of us did anything to the other one. We're still friends and I still love him with all my heart."

Luke: "How do you medicate your pain?"

Stormy: "I don't medicate anything ever. I went to Vegas last week and had a revelation [Pat Myne]."

Pat: "I just signed an exclusive contract with Metro yesterday."

Pat has given Stormy an expensive friendship ring. They've known each other for six months but have only hooked up in the past month. They were at the VSDA together in Las Vegas.

Vince Voyeur joins us.

Stormy: "Vince Voyeur had his chance and he told me no."

I think it was to buy one of Stormy's scripts.

Vince protests: "I didn't tell you no. I didn't say no to you. I just couldn't do a big [feature] movie."

Stormy: "I wasn't worth coming out of retirement for."

Vince turns to me: "What are you doing here, man? Are you causing trouble?"

Pat and Stormy: "Yes."

Stormy: "He's stirring."

Pat: "We're getting married in Hawaii December 23."

Luke: "Do you wish you could do more gonzo porn?"

Stormy: "No, I don't like gonzo."

Vince: "Does she like porn?"

Stormy: "I watched my first first one [gonzo] the other day," and she indicates she had to look away.

Vince: "Women are more motivated by dialogue."

Pat: "I love how the porn world turns."

DUC to Pat: "How long after your breakups did you guys get together?"

Pat: "Four hours. Four hours and 31 days."

Luke: "What do you think of AIM?"

Pat: "Their office is too crowd and they don't have any good magazines. And that bird s---- all over the place."

Stormy: "I'm scared of needles."

Luke: "Have you guys drawn any lessons about dancing people in the porn industry?"

Stormy: "Don't do it."

Pat: "Don't do it. It will never last."

Stormy: "Waste of time."

Robby D is a Jew. And as I watched him dance joyously with shiksa Jesse Jane, I saw a strong Zionist slant to his moves. In fact, the pro-Israel line is just rampant in his movie Beat the Devil but it is all so subtle, that those with IQs under 140 (the goyim) won't catch it.

DUC emails Adella at Digital Playground: Could you ask Robby D if his martial arts bravado is a complex compensatory device for being Jewish?

Adella: Yes DUC, I'll ask him.

Adella to Robby: DUC wants to know if your martial arts bravado is a complex compensatory device for being Jewish?

Robby: Yes.

Robby embraces Ron Sullivan and thanks Ron for inspiring him to become a porn director.

Ron's date is Vandalia. Ron's wife Delores hates these type of events.

Hamilton Steele and JimmyD want to set me up with a porn girl who, on my wedding night, can't make it because she has a private.

Character actor Kyle Stone met his fiance Velvet Rose on a porn set while she was still under contract with Heatwave. Shortly thereafter, they moved in together (it's been six months now). Kyle wants a one-year engagement to make sure they are compatible.

Velvet Rose: "We did a scene together [in November of 2002] and we ended up hooking up a few months later.

"After I got off of my contract with Heatwave, he was one of the first people I called to say I'm freelance now, if you want to request me. And then I went over to his place to f--- him and he thought I was just going there to hang out. I've never left him."

Kyle: "A little secret. She asked me to marry her first. Then I asked her a few pertinent questions and then she had all the right answers. Then we got the ring. I surprised her with it. I said, 'I'll give it to you when I'm ready.'

"I let a couple of weeks go by and set up something for us involving a helicopter ride over LA, being outside the Hollywood sign. We hovered over it and I asked her to marry me. I told the the only stipulation was that we would be engaged a year because I wanted us to take the time to make sure we could make it last.

"For six months now, every day, we've been together. Normally by now I wouldn't be able to handle her but I'm comfortable with her and I feel great."

Luke: "What's new with your career? Are you still concentrating on this industry?"

Kyle: "The work's cut down. There are definitely more guys coming into the business every day. The chemical companies are what killed my career. As soon as Viagra came out, my work died. The only work I get now is when they need a good character actor. Even my acting ability has been kicked by the wayside. Nobody seems to be interested in anybody with any kind of acting talent. The directors I talk to now say the guys working now can't open. Nobody seems to care. I've got to start thinking about other things."

I chat with Digital Playground director Nic Andrews and his friends about videogames. I follow them outside so they can smoke. Everybody outside is male. I return inside.

Several couples who predicted Eric Masterson and Wendy Knight would break up have themselves broken up. Five years into the industry, Eric now works more than Wendy. She's sad about how the new girls get all the work and attention and she's thinking about what type of job she wants to do next. She's sold a few scripts.

"Nobody's creating porn stars anymore," she laments.

I see Jenna Haze with her boyfriend Matt, and Nick Manning with tall brunette Jessica Jaymes. Monique, and AnnMarie from Metro, chat with Jenna.

Seymore Butts and Flower join the party.

I chat with MXB magazine journalist Karl Freedler and publisher Scott Moore. They've had a 105% sales increase from their first issue. They use all new girls instead of relying on stars. I suspect it is cheaper that way.

Bunny Luv is now Celeste.

l-keford.com's Scott Fayner arrives after I leave about 11PM.

11:30PM. Stormy, after three beers.

Luke: "What have you learned at the party tonight?"

Stormy: "Not to talk to you."
